Therefore,readtheseoperatinginstructionsthoroughly and

Payparticular attentionto allWARNINGS and CAUTIONS in
thisinstructionmanual.
WARNING indicates warning to avoid an electrical shock and
CAUTION indicatescautionstoavoiddamagetotheinstrument
andmakeaccuratemeasurements.
WARNINGS
1.Iftheinstrumentshowsthefollowingconditions,donottryto
makemeasurementsandhavetheinstrumentcheckedfor
inspectionorrepair.
Instrumentshowsvisualdamage.
Testleadsaredamaged.
Instrumentcannotbeoperatedforintendedmeasurements.
Instrumenthasbeenstoredforlongperiodoftime
underabnormalconditions.
Instrumenthasbeensubjectedtosevereshocksand
vibrations.
2.Thetransformerjawsaremadeofmetalandtheirtipsarenot
insulated.
Beespeciallycarefulaboutthehazardofpossibleshorting
wheretheequipmentundertesthasexposedmetalparts.

CAUTIONS
1.Whennotinuseforalongperiodoftime,placethe
instrumentinstorageafterremovingthebatteriesfromit.
2.Nevermakemeasurementsiftheinstrument,thetestleadsor
yourhandiswet.
3.Calibrationandrepairofanyinstrumentshouldonlybe
performedbyqualifiedandtrainedservicetechnicians.
4.Donotinstallsubstitutepartsorperformanyunauthorized
modificationoftheinstrument.ReturntheunittoKyoritsuor
yourdistributerforrepair.
5.Useadampclothanddetergentforcleaningthecaseofthe
ontheinstrument.Donotuseabrasivesorsolvents.
6.AlwayssettheRangeSelectorSwitchtotheOFFposition
afteruse.
7.Theinstrumentmustbeusedbyacompetent,trainedperson
andoperatedinstrictaccordancewiththeinstructions.
Kyoritsuwillnotacceptliabilityforanydamageorinjury
causedbymisuseornoncompliancewiththeinstructionsor
safetyprocedures.Itisessentialtoreadandunderstandthe
safetyrulescontainedintheinstructions.Theymustbe
observedwhenusingtheinstrument.

(1)Removethebatterycompartmentcoverandinstallthe
batteries.Refertosection6forbatteryreplacement.
(2)ADCvoltmeterorACvoltmeterisrequiredforDCorAC
currentmeasurement.Connecttheoutputcordstotheinput
terminalsofthevoltmeter.IncaseofDCcurrent
measurements,alwaysinserttheredbananaplugintothe
plus(+)terminalandtheblackbananaplugintothe
minus(−)terminalofanymultimeterwithaninputimpedance
ofatleast1kΩ asshowninFig.1.

CAUTION:Donotreplacethebatterywhilemeasuring.

backofhousing.Andthenslideandremovethebattery

AFFECTSMEASUREMENTS.THEREFORE,THE
READINGWILLSLIGHTLYVARYDEPENDINGONTHE
ORIENTATIONOFTHE8113INUSE.TOMAKE
PRECISEMEASUREMENT,ITISARECOMMENDED
PROCEDURETOZEROADJUSTTHE8113EVERY
TIMEITSORIENTATIONISCHANGED.
5-2-3Otherapplications
DCcoupledandwithoutdistortioninputwaveformappears
ontheoutputterminaloftheinstrument.Thiswillpermit
currentwaveformobservationontheoscilloscope.When
connectedtoarecorder,itwillalsoallowforacontinuous
recordingofinputcurrent.Asacurrentsensor,the8113may
alsopermitawiderangeofotherapplications.

applianceswhicharenormallyfurnishedwithtwin
conductorlinecordsandplugsforhouseholdpoweroutlets.
Incorporatedintothisenergizerisacoiltomultiplythe
currentby1,5and10andavoltagecheckterminal.
