1.2.1 Electronic Standby Indicator (GH-3100)
NOTE
The GH-3100 product Software Release 3.0 is a direct replacement for
the GH-3100 Software Release 1.3 and 1.4 with regard to form, fit and
function as long as the appropriate Detachable Configuration Module
(DCM-3100) is used for the aircraft type. There is no aircraft wiring
changes required for the new part numbers.
The Electronic Standby Indicator is a 3 ATI, self-contained solid state instrument that uses a color active
matrix liquid crystal display to provide a visual display of attitude (pitch and roll), and slip/skid
information computed from an internal three-axis inertial sensor cluster. Air data information for baro
corrected altitude, air speed, mach number, and vertical speed are provided by pitot and static inputs.
Built-in interfaces provide additional navigation information. A bezel mounted light sensor provides
automatic display dimming capability, with manual offset control achieved through the menu mode.
The GH-3100 contains the following built-in interfaces.
•ARINC 710 / 711 (VHF) NAV Receivers (ARINC 429, CSDB)
•ARINC 709 (VHF) DME (ARINC 429, CSDB)
•TACAN (ARINC 429)
•Flight Management System Interface (ARINC 429)
•Three axis solid state Magnetometer input for Magnetic Heading (RS-422)
•ARINC 705 Heading Reference (ARINC 429)
When equipment is connected to and configured for the above interfaces, the GH-3100 provides the
following functions:
INTERFACE DESCRIPTION INTERFACE STANDARD FUNCTION

1.2.2 Detachable Configuration Module (DCM-3100)
The Detachable Configuration Module is a solid-state device that retains software and hardware
configuration information for specific aircraft.
NOTE
The DCM-3100 is electrostatic sensitive device when not connected to
the GH-3100 Indicator.
1.2.3 Magnetometer (MAG-3000)
The Magnetometer uses a three-axis magnetic sensor to sense magnetic fields. The field data is transmitted
via an RS-422 bus to the Standby Attitude Indicator (GH-3100). The field data is used with the pitch and
roll attitude of the Standby Attitude Indicator to compute the magnetic heading of the aircraft.
NOTE
Refer to the MAG-3000 Install manual, TP-633, for complete installation
information.
1.2.4 Magnetometer (MAG-3100)
The Magnetometer uses a three-axis magnetic sensor to sense magnetic fields. The field data is transmitted
via an RS-422 bus to the Standby Attitude Indicator (GH-3100). The field data is used with the pitch and
roll attitude of the Standby Attitude Indicator to compute the magnetic heading of the aircraft.
NOTE
Refer to the MAG-3100 Install manual, 0040-21200-01, for complete
installation information.
