GENERAL SAFETY
IMPORTANT SAFETY WARNINGS
TO REDUCE RISK OF INJURY:
Before any use, be sure everyone using this tool reads and
understands all safety instructions and other information contained
in this manual.
CAUTION: Wear appropriate personal hearing protection during
use. Under some conditions and duration of use, noise from this
product may contribute to hearing loss.
Save these instructions and review frequently prior to use and in
instructing others.
WARNING: When using electric gardening appliances, basic safety
precautions should always be followed to reduce risk of fire, electric
shock, and personal injury, including the following:
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS
KEEP CHILDREN AWAY - All visitors, children and pets should
stay at a safe distance from the work area.
DRESS PROPERLY –Don’t wear loose clothing or jewelry. Wear
protective hair covering to contain long hair. They can be caught in
moving parts. Use of rubber gloves and substantial footwear is
recommended when working outdoors.
USE SAFETY GLASSES –Wear safety glasses with side shields or
goggles that are marked to comply with ANSI Z87.1 standard when
operating this product. Use face or dust mask if environment is dusty.
USE RIGHT APPLIANCE –Do not use an appliance for any job
except that for which it is intended.
REMOVE THE BATTERY FROM THE HEDGE TRIMMER when not
in use or when servicing or cleaning. Do not leave unattended.
CHECK DAMAGED PARTS –Before further use of the hedge
trimmer, a guard or other part that is damaged should be carefully
checked to determine that it will operate properly and perform its
intended function. Check for alignment of moving parts, binding of
moving parts, breakage of parts, mounting and any other condition
that may affect its operation. A guard or other part that is damaged
should be properly repaired or replaced. Call our customer service
help line at 1-800-313-5111 for assistance.
LIGHTING - Only operate trimmer in daylight or good artificial light.
DON’T OVERREACH –Keep proper footing and balance at all
times.
WARNING: Do Not use the hedge trimmer with any type of
accessory or attachment. Such usage might be hazardous.
AVOID DANGEROUS ENVIRONMENTS –Don’t use trimmer in
rain, damp or wet locations. Do not operate trimmer in gaseous or
explosive atmospheres. Motors in these tools normally spark, and
the sparks might ignite fumes.
AVOID UNINTENTIONAL STARTING –Don’t carry trimmer with
finger on switch.
DANGER: Risk of cut. Keep hands away from the blades. Keep
both hands on handles when power is on.
DANGER: DO NOT ATTEMPT to remove cut material or hold
material to be cut when blades are moving. Make sure trimmer
switch is off when clearing jammed material from blades. Do not
grasp the exposed cutting blades or cutting edges when picking
up or holding the hedge trimmer.
CAUTION: Blades coast after turned off.
DON’T FORCE HEDGE TRIMMER –It will do the job better and
with less likelihood of a risk of injury at the rate for which it was
designed.
STAY ALERT –Watch what you are doing. Use common sense.
Do not operate hedge trimmer when you are tired or under the
influence of drugs, alcohol or medications.
STORE IDLE HEDGE TRIMMER INDOORS –When not in use,
the hedge trimmer should be stored indoors in a dry and high or
locked-up place, out of reach of children.
MAINTAIN TRIMMER WITH CARE –Keep cutting blades sharp
and clean for best performance and to reduce the risk of injury.
Inspect extension cord periodically and replace if damaged. Keep
handles dry, clean and free from oil and grease.
WARNING: To protect yourself from electrocution, maintain a
minimum distance of 10 ft (3m) from all electrical lines.
WARNING: California Proposition 65: This product contains
chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth
defects or other reproductive harm.
WARNING: Some dust and debris created by this tool could
contain chemicals known to the State of California to cause
cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm. Some examples
of these chemicals are:
-chemicals in fertilizers
-compounds in insecticides, herbicides and pesticides
-arsenic and chromium from chemically treated lumber
Your risk of exposure to these chemicals varies depending on how
often you do this type of work. To reduce your exposure, work in a
well ventilated area and with approved safety equipment such as
dust masks that are specially designed to filter out microscopic
particles.

ADJUSTING TELESCOPIC POLE
The overall length of the trimmer can be adjusted. Release the
clamp on the tube. The tubes can then be adjusted shorter or
longer. When the desired length is achieved, lock in place with the
clamp.
TO TURN THE TOOL ON
Push the lock button in with your thumb and then squeeze the
trigger with your fingers. (Once the tool is running, you can release
the lock button). To turn the tool OFF, release the trigger.
CAUTION: Blade coasts after turned off.
Do not use under wet conditions.
Do not store with switch locked on.
WARNING: To guard against injury, observe the following:
 Read instruction manual before using.
 Save instruction manual.
 Keep hands away from blades.
 Keep hands on handles. Don’t overreach.
WARNING: Do not allow familiarity with this type of product to make
you careless. Remember that a careless fraction of a second is
sufficient to inflict serious injury.
WORKING POSITION - Maintain proper footing and balance and do
not overreach. Wear safety goggles, non-skid footwear and rubber
gloves when trimming. Hold the tool firmly in both hands and turn
the tool ON. Always hold the trimmer with right hand on the switch
handle and left hand on the front handle or telescopic pole if using
as a pole trimmer. Never hold the tool by the blade guard.
USING THE POLE HEDGE TRIMMER
To use the Pole Hedge
Trimmer for trimming tall,
hard-to-reach hedges or
shrubs, hold the Trimmer
at the positions shown.
Pivot the power head to
several different positions
to shape or sculpt shrubs
or hedges.
To use Pole Hedge Trimmer for trimming smaller hedges or
shrubs, hold the Pole Trimmer at the positions as shown.
To use Pole Trimmer for trimming the bottoms and sides of
hedges and shrubs, hold the Pole Trimmer at the positions
shown.
To use Pole Trimmer for trimming low-lying foliage or ground
cover, hold the Pole Trimmer at the position as shown.
CAUTION: Do not use the trimmer for cutting stems greater
than 5/8”.
Use the trimmer only for cutting normal shrubbery found
around houses and buildings.
Do not force the Trimmer through dense growth. A slight
back and forth sawing action may ease the cutting of larger,
more dense growth. If the Trimmer begins to slow down,
reduce the rate of speed at which you are trying to cut. If the
Trimmer becomes jammed, immediately turn Trimmer off.
Remove the battery and clear the jammed debris from the
cutter blades.
OPERATING

CHARGING THE BATTERY PACK
Charge the battery pack only with the charger provided.
Allow at least 60 minutes of charge time before initial use of the
hedge trimmer.
Make sure the power supply is normal household voltage, 120 volts,
60Hz, AC only.
The battery charger should be operated in temperatures between 50
and 100 degrees F
The battery should be charged in a cool, dry place.
2 to 3 initial charging/discharging cycles may be required to achieve
maximum run time/capacity.
DO NOT attempt to open the charger or the unit. There are no
customer serviceable parts inside. Call customer service helpline at
1-800-313-5111 for assistance.
DO NOT incinerate battery packs even if they are severely damaged
or completely worn out. They can explode in a fire causing injury.
DO NOT charge appliance in rain, or in wet locations.
Use the battery charger indoors only.
Disconnect charger from the power supply when not in use to prevent
damage to the charger during a power surge.
When fully charged, the battery can be safely stored in temperatures
down to -40 degrees F for a period of up to four weeks, before
requiring charging. Fully charge battery pack every 90 days.
If over a period of time the battery pack quickly runs down after a full
60 minutes charging period, a replacement battery pack is needed.
To prevent permanent damage to the battery, never store in a
discharged condition.
WINTER STORAGE - Fully recharge before storage and then again
every 90 days.
Since the battery will not develop a memory, it does not have to be
fully discharged before recharging.
A small leakage of liquid from the battery cells may occur under
extreme usage, charging or temperature conditions. This does not
indicate a failure. However, if the outer seal is broken and this
leakage gets on your skin.
a. Wash quickly with soap and water.
b. Neutralize with a mild acid such as lemon juice of vinegar.
c. If the battery liquid gets in your eyes, flush them with clean
water for a minimum of 10 minutes and seek immediate
medical attention.

INSTALLING AND REMOVING BATTERY PACK FROM THE UNIT
Slide the battery pack into the tool (see picture). Ensure the battery is
securely connected. To remove battery, depress release button and
slide battery pack out of tool.
BATTERY DISPOSAL
Remove the battery pack from the Cordless Hedge Trimmer, cover the terminals with heavy duty adhesive tape. Do not attempt
to destroy or disassemble battery pack or remove any components. This product contains lithium-ion batteries which must be
recycled or disposed of properly. Local, state or federal laws may prohibit disposal of these batteries in the municipal solid waste
or rural trash pick up systems.
The RBRC seal on the Li-Ion battery pack indicates that the cost to recycle the battery pack at the end of its useful life has already
been paid by The Great States Corporation/American Lawn Mower Company. It is illegal to place spent Li-Ion batteries in the local
municipal solid waste or in the trash. RBRC in cooperation with The Great States Corporation/American Lawn Mower Company has
provided an environmentally friendly and easy way to recycle spent Li-Ion batteries. Just contact your local recycling center or call
1.800.8.BATTERY for information on where to drop off the spent battery.

If you drop the trimmer, carefully inspect it for damage. If the blade
is bent or cracked, handles broken or if you see any other condition
that may affect the trimmer’s operation, it must be repaired before
putting it back into use. Call our customer service help line at
1-800-313-5111 for assistance.
CAUTION: Do not at any time let brake fluids, gasoline, petroleum
based products, penetrating oils, etc., come in contact with plastic
parts. They contain chemicals that can damage, weaken or destroy
plastic.
Make sure the battery is detached from the unit, then use only mild
soap and a damp cloth to clean the tool. Never let any liquid get
inside the tool; never immerse any part of the tool into a liquid.
IMPORTANT: To assure product SAFETY and RELIABILITY,
repairs, maintenance and adjustment should be performed by a
qualified individual using only identical replacement parts.
The cutting blades are made from high quality, hardened steel and
with normal usage, they will not require re-sharpening. However, if
you accidentally hit a wire fence, stones, glass or other hard objects,
you may put a nick in the blade. There is no need to remove this
nick as long as it doesn’t interfere with the movement of the blade.
If it does interfere, make sure the battery is detached from the unit
and use a fine toothed file or sharpening stone to remove the nick.
Fertilizers and other garden chemicals contain agents which
greatly accelerate the corrosion of metals Do not store the tool
on or adjacent to fertilizers or chemicals.
LUBRICATE BLADES - Stop
the unit and remove the
battery pack. Then remove
any debris on blades. Apply
a light machine oil along the
edge of the top and bottom
blade supports. Make sure
handles remain clean and dry.

Lawn Mower Company, Shelbyville, Indiana, has been making lawn mowers for over 100 years and warrants to the original owner that
each new product and service part is free from defects in material and workmanship and agrees to repair or replace under this warranty
any defective product or part from the original date of purchase for two (2) years except for the conditions and circumstances listed below.
Proof of purchase (original dated sales receipt) must accompany all warranty claims.
THIS WARRANTY IS NOT TRANSFERABLE AND DOES NOT COVER:
Expendable items that become worn during normal use.
Cosmetic defects that do not interfere with tool
functionality.
Freight costs from customer to vendor.
Repair and transportation costs of products or
parts determined not to be defective.

FUNCIONAMIENTO
Para usar el cortasetos telescópico para cortar setos o arbustos
pequeños, sostenga el cortasetos en la posición indicada.
Para usar el cortasetos telescópico para cortar las partes inferiores o
laterales de setos o arbustos, sostenga el cortasetos en la posición
indicada.
Para usar el cortasetos telescópico para cortar follaje bajo o
cubresuelos, sosténgalo en la posición que muestra la figura.
PRECAUCIÓN: No utilice el cortsetos para cortar tallos de más de
16 mm (5/8 pulg). Úselo unicamente para cortar arbustos que se
encuentran alrededor de casa y edificios.
No fuerce el cortasetos al intentar cortar vegetación muy tupida. Un
ligero movimiento de atrás hacia delante puede facilitar el corte de
vegetación más grande y muy tupida. Si el cortasetos comienza a
trabajar más lentamente, reduzca la velocidad con la que está
intentando cortar. Si el cortasetos se atasca, apáguelo de inmediato.
Desconnecte el cortasetos del suministro eléctrico y retire los desechos
atascados de las cuchillas de la cortadora.
AJUSTE DEL TUBO TELESCÓPICO
Se puede regular la altura total de la desbrozadora. Suelte el fijador
en el tubo. Luego puede acortar o extender los tubos. Una vez que
logre la altura deseada, trábelos con el fijador.
ENCENDIDO DE LA HERRAMIENTA.

POSTURA DE TRABAJO. Mantenga una base y equilibro apropiados

Sujete la herramienta con ambas manos firmemente y luego
enciéndala. Sostenga siempre el cortasetos con la mano derecha
en el mango del interruptor y la izquierda, en el mango delantero o en
el tubo, si usa un cortasetos telescópico. Nunca tome la herramienta
por la funda de las cuchillas. Ubique la unidad debajo del nivel de la
cintura.

CARGA DEL PAQUETE DE BATERÍAS
Cuando la batería está cargada por completo, se puede almacenar
de forma segura en temperaturas de hasta -40 ºC (-40 ºF) durante un
período de quatros semanas antes de que requiera una nueva carga.
Cargue el paquete de baterías completamente cada 90 días.
Si transcurrido un tiempo determinado, el paquete de baterías se
agota rápidamente después de un período de carga de 60 minutos,
es necesario un cambio de batería.
Para prevenir un daño permanente a la batería, nunca la almacene
descargada.
ALMACENAMIENTO EN INVIERNO. Recargue la batería
completamente durante 60 minutos antes de guardarla y repita la
operación cada 90 días.
Debido a que la batería no tiene ningún efecto memoria, no es
necesario que esté totalmente descargada para volver a cargarla.
Es posible que ocurra una pequeña pérdida de líquido de las pilas
en condiciones de uso, carga o temperaturas extremas. Esto no indica
una falla. No obstante, si el sello externo está roto y el líquido entra en
contacto con la piel:
a. Lávese con agua y jabón de inmediato.
b. Neutralice el efecto con un ácido débil como jugo de limón
o vinagre.
c. Si el líquido de la batería penetra en los ojos, enjuáguese con
agua limpia durante un mínimo de 10 minutos y obtenga asistencia
médica inmediata.
Cargue el paquete de baterías únicamente con el cargador provisto.
Deje por lo menos 60 minutos de tiempo de carga antes del primer
uso de la motosierra.
Asegúrese de que el voltaje del suministro eléctrico sea el doméstico
normal: 120 voltios, 60 Hz, CA únicamente.
El cargador de baterías debe funcionar en temperaturas que oscilen
entre los 10 y 50 ºC (50 y 100 ºF).
La batería debe cargarse en un lugar fresco y seco.
Es posible que se necesiten de dos a tres ciclos de carga/
descarga iniciales para obtener la máxima capacidad o tiempo

NO incinere los paquetes de baterías, aunque estén muy dañados o
totalmente agotados, porque pueden estallar y provocar lesiones.
Utilice el cargador de baterías sólo bajo techo.
Desconecte el cargador del suministro eléctrico cuando no esté
en uso para evitar daños en caso de que se produzca un pico de
tensión.
PROCEDIMIENTO DE CARGA
ELIMINACIÓN DE LA BATERÍA
Extraiga el paquete de baterías de la herramienta. Cubra los terminales con una cinta adhesiva resistente. No trate de destruir ni desarmar el
paquete de baterías ni de extraer ninguno de sus componentes. Este producto contiene baterías de litio-ion, que se deben reciclar o desechar
adecuadamente. Es posible que las leyes locales, estatales o federales prohíban eliminar estas baterías con los desechos comunes.

INSTALACIÓN Y EXTRACCIÓN DEL PAQUETE DE BATERÍAS
Coloque el paquete de baterías en la herramienta (observe la
ilustración). Asegúrese de que los enganches baterías calcen
perfectamente y que la batería quede conectada con firmeza.
Retire la batería, oprima el botón de liberación y deslice
la batería de la herramienta.

MANTENIMIENTO
Si se cae la cortasetos, inspecciónela cuidadosamente para
comprobar si sufrió algún daño. Si la cuchilla está doblada o tiene
grietas, o los mangos están rotos, o si detecta alguna otra condición
que pudiera afectar el funcionamiento de la cortasetos, comuníquese

PRECAUCIÓN: Evite en todo momento que líquidos de frenos,
gasolina, productos a base de petróleo, aceites penetrantes, etc.
entren en contacto con piezas plásticas. Contienen químicos que
pueden dañar, debilitar o destrozar el plástico.
Extraiga el paquete de baterías de la cortasetos y luego utilice
únicamente un jabón suave y un paño húmedo para limpiar la
herramienta. No permita que entre líquido en el interior de la
herramienta ni sumerja ninguna pieza en líquido.

- La bacteria no está bien colocada en el cargador.

- Compruebe la corriente en el receptáculo; para ello, enchufe
una lámpara u otro artefacto.
- Cerciorese de que el receptáculo no este connectado a un
interruptor de luz que corta el suministro eléctrico cuando usted
apaga las luces.
- Traslade el cargador y la herramienta a un lugar con una
temperatura ambiente superior a los 10 ºC (50 ºF) e inferior
a 37,8 ºC (100 ºF).
Las cuchillas de corte están fabricados con acero endurecido de alta
calidad y no necesitan volver a afilarse si se usan en condiciones
normales. No obstante , si accidentalmente se golpea una cerca de
alambre, piedras , vidrio u otros objetos duros, puede hacerse una
muesca en la cuchilla. No es necesario quitar la muesca, siempre que
no interfiera con el movimiento de la cuchilla. En caso de que interfiera,
desconecte la batería de la unida y luego utilice una lime de dientes
finos o piedra de afilar para quitar muesca.
Los fertilizantes y otros productos químicos para el jardín contienen
agentes que aceleran la corrosión de los metales en forma
considerable. No guarde la herramienta junto a fertilizantes ni
productos químicos.

LIRE TOUTES LES INSTRUCTIONS
GARDER HORS DE PORTÉE DES ENFANTS –Tous les

S’HABILLER DE FAÇON APPROPRIÉE – Ne portez pas des

PORTER DES LUNETTES DE SÉCURITÉ –Lors de l’utilisation
de ce produit, portez des lunettes de sécurité avec des écrans
latéraux portant une marque de conformité à la norme ANSI Z87.1.
Portez un masque facial ou anti-poussières en présence de
poussières.
UTILISER LE BON OUTIL –N’utilisez pas l’outil pour une tâche pour
laquelle il n’a pas été conçu.
RETIREZ LA BATTERIE DE LE TAILLE-HAIE quand elle n’est pas
utilisée ou lors de l’entretien ou du nettoyage. Ne le laissez pas sans
surveillance.
VÉRIFIER LES PIÈCES ENDOMMAGÉES –Avant de poursuivre
l’utilisation de le taille-haie, toute protection ou autre pièce qui est
endommagée doit être vérifiée avec précaution afin de déterminer
qu’elle fonctionnera correctement et remplira sa fonction prévue.
Vérifiez l’alignement des pièces mobiles, si ces dernières sont
coincées, si certaines pièces sont cassées, la qualité du montage et
toute autre condition pouvant affecter le fonctionnement de l’outil.
Toute pièce endommagée doit être correctement réparée ou
remplacée.
ÉCLAIRAGE –N’utilisez le taille-haie qu’à la lumière du jour ou sous
un bon éclairage artificiel.
NE PAS ESSAYER DE COUPER TROP LOIN –Conservez toujours
une assise correcte et un bon équilibre.
AVERTISSEMENT : n’utilisez pas le taille-haie avec n’importe
quel type d’accessoire ou d’outil. Une telle utilisation pourrait être
dangereuse.
ÉVITER LES ENVIRONNEMENTS DANGEREUX –N’utilisez pas le
taille-haie sous la pluie, dans les endroits humides ou mouillés. N’utilisez
pas le taille-haie dans les atmosphères gazeuses ou explosives. Les
moteurs de ces outils émettent normalement des étincelles, qui
pourraient enflammer les vapeurs.
ÉVITER UNE MISE EN MARCHE ACCIDENTELLE –Ne portez pas
le taille-haie avec un doigt sur le contacteur. Assurez-vous que le
contacteur est sur arrêt avant d'effectuer le branchement.
DANGER : risque de coupure. N’approchez pas les mains de la
lame. Gardez les deux mains sur le manche et sur la poignée quand
l’outil est en marche.
DANGER : NE PAS TENTER d'enlever du matériau coupé, ni ne tenir
du matériau à couper quand taille-haie est activée et que la lame bouge
encore. Assurez-vous que le taille-haie est hors tension avant d’enlever
le matériau coincé dans la lame. Ne saisissez pas les bords de coupe
exposés quand vous prenez ou tenez le taille-haie.
ATTENTION : la lame bouge encore après la mise hors tension.
NE PAS FORCER LE TAILLE-HAIE–Elle sera plus efficace et moins
dangereuse à l’intensité pour laquelle elle a été conçue.
RESTER VIGILENT –Regardez ce que vous faites. Faites preuve de
bon sens. N’utilisez pas le taille-haie si vous être fatigué ou sous
l’influence de médicaments, de drogues ou d’alcool.
RANGER LE TAILLE-HAIE À L’INTÉRIEUR – Lorsqu’elle n’est pas
utilisée, le taille-haie doit être rangée à l’intérieur dans un endroit sec et
élevé ou verrouillé, hors de portée des enfants.
ENTRETENIR LE TAILLE-HAIE AVEC ATTENTION –Maintenez
les organes de coupe affûtés et propres pour le meilleur rendement
et pour réduire le risque de blessure. Maintenez le manche et la
poignée secs, propres et exempts d’huile et de graisse.
AVERTISSEMENT : maintenez une distance minimum de 3 m avec
les lignes électriques, afin d’éviter une électrocution.

Pour tailler des haies ou des buissons plus petits, tenez le tailee-haie
dans les positions indiquées.
Pour tailler le bas ou les côtés des haies ou des buissons, tenez le
taille-haie dans les positions indiquées.
Pour tailler des branches basses ou des couverts végétaux plus
petits, tenez le taille-haie dans la position indiquée.
ATTENTION : N’utilisez pas le taille-haie pour couper des branches
de plus de 1,6 cm d’épaisseur.
N’utilisez le taille-haie que pour tailler les haies et arbustes qui se
trouvent à proximité des maisons et des bâtiments.
Ne forcez pas le taille-haie dans une végétation dense. Un
movement léger d’avant en arriére peut faciliter la coupe de la
végétation plus dense. Si le taille-haie se ralentit, diminuez la
vitesse à laquelle vous travaillez. Si le taille-haie se coince,
éteignez-le immédiatement. Débranchez-le de la source életrique
et retirer les débris coincés dans les lames.
RÉGLAGE DU MANCHE TÉLESCOPIQUE
La longueur totale de la tondeuse peut être réglée. Libérez la pince
sur le manche. Le manche peuvent être raccourcis ou allongés.
Lorsque la longueur désirée est atteinte, fixez en place avec la pince.
MISE EN MARCHE DE L'OUTIL
Appuyez sur le bouton de bouton de déverrouillage de la gáchette
avec le pouce et pressez le contacteur gâchette avec les doigts.
(Une fois que l’outil fonctionne, vous pouvez relâcher le bouton de
verrouillage.) Pour arrêter l’outil, relâchez le contacteur.
ATTENTION : les lames bougent encore après la mise hors tension.
N’utilisez pas l’outil dans des conditions mouillées.
Ne rangez l’outil avec le contacteur verrouillé sur la
position de marche.
AVERTISSEMENT : respectez les consignes suivantes pour éviter
de vous blesser : lisez le manuel d’instructions avant l’utilisation,
conservez ce manuel d’instructions. N’approchez pas les mains des
lames. Gardez les mains sur les poignées. N’essayez pas de couper
trop loin.
AVERTISSEMENT : ne laissez pas l’habitude d'utiliser ce type de
produit vous rendre imprudent. N’oubliez pas qu’une fraction de
seconde d’inattention suffit pour infliger des blessures graves.
POSITION DE TRAVAIL - Gardez une assise correcte et un bon
équilibre et n’essayez pas de couper trop loin. Portez des lunettes de
sécurité, des chaussures anti-dérapantes et des gants en caotchouc
lors de la taille. Tenez l’outil fermement des deux mains et mettez-le
en marche. Tenez toujours le taille-haie comme indiqué, avec la main
droite sur la poignée à contacteur et la main gauche sur la manche
télescopique. Ne tenez jamais l’outil par le carter de protection.

Pour tailler les haies ou les
buissons difficiles à atteindre,
tenez le taille-haie dans les
positions indiquées. Faites pivoter
le bloc moteur dans différentes
positions pour sculpter ou tailler
les haies ou les buissons dans
différentes formes.
