of caravan owners
We would like to congratulate you on your pur-
chase of an LMC caravan and thank you for the
trust you have placed in us.
With an LMC you have chosen a caravan that
offers you independence and a high standard
of living comfort, and incorporates many safety
features.
To ensure that you have fun with your caravan
from day one, you should read through this
Operating Manual carefully before setting off on
your first trip.
As well as the operating instructions, we have
included a lot of useful information and practical
tips which we are happy to pass on to you, as it
matters a great deal to us that you should be
satisfied at all times with your LMC.

Foreword

Our weight specifications comply with the require-
ments of European Parliament and Council Direc-
tive 97/27/EC and EC Directive EN 1645-2.
Following from these, a number of terms and
weight specifications are changing:
1. Total technically permissible mass(es) (for-
merly “maximum permissible gross weight”).
2. Unladen mass in running order (formerly
“unladen weight”). This weight contains the
mass with the following standard equipment:
fluids such as fresh water and gas to 90% of
capacity + cable drum, without optional extras.
3. Maximum load: this mass must not be
exceeded through personal equipment or
optional extras.

The total technically permissible mass(es) and the axle load as per the vehicle title must
not be exceeded under any circumstances in the loaded condition.

Information on the Operating Manual
This Operating Manual contains important infor-
mation on the operation, maintenance and hand-
ling of the caravan equipment.
The many practical tips are intended to make it
easier for you to use your caravan safely and in an
environmentally responsible manner.
In the interests of your safety, please read the
information on the handling of gas equipment,
the 12V and 230V vehicle electrical system and
the safety instructions especially carefully.
Service information
When combined with regular maintenance and
servicing, proper handling of the caravan will
ensure that the vehicle retains its value, and in
many cases it is one of the preconditions for any
claim made under guarantee.
Your Operating Manual contains a service sched-
ule, in which completion of the necessary services
will be confirmed after the work has been carried
out.
The continued validity of the five-year guarantee
of leak-tightness of the vehicle body is dependent
on the production of evidence that these services
have been performed.
Please remember that should you come to sell
the caravan at some future date, the vehicle log
including Operating Manual, service documents
and gas inspection certificate will need to be
passed on to the new owner.
Organisation of this manual
Equipment marked with an asterisk only comes as
standard with certain models or is only available
as optional extras for certain models.

The present manual has been written with the
utmost care. However, as our caravans undergo
continuous development, please understand that
we must reserve the right to vary the form, equip-
ment and technology. For this reason, no claims
based on the contents of this Operating Manual
can be admitted.

All text which refers to possible health hazards or
to a danger of accident or injury have been made
more prominent in this Operating Manual by addi-

Hitching and unhitching the caravan
Prior to hitching or unhitching the caravan:
–For hitching and unhitching operations, stabilis-
ing handle (1) must be open in the uppermost
position.
–Pull stabilising handle (1) upwards as far as it
will go (open) otherwise hitching and unhitching
is difficult.
Hitching
–Open coupling jaw – here, pull coupling handle
(2) strenuously upwards in the direction of the
arrow.
–Place the opened coupling on the towing
bracket of the towing vehicle and release the
coupling handle (2). It should now slide back
into the initial position by itself.
–Nevertheless, press downwards by hand as
well. Closing and application of the safety catch
are automatic.
Warning!
–When the green edge of the safety indication (3)
is visible, the coupling ball is entirely in the
coupling housing.
–Press stabilising handle (1) downwards until
resting position is exceeded and limit stop is
reached.
Unhitching
–Rotate support wheel downwards (note techni-
cal information relating to support wheel).
–Release contact-breaking cable and lighting
plug.
–Pull stabilising handle (1) upwards as far as it
will go.
–Pull coupling handle (2) strenuously upwards in
the direction of the arrow.
–Take coupling from the coupling ball of the tow-
ing vehicle. This procedure is easier if, with the
ball coupling open, the crank handle is turned
so that the towbar support wheel is raised.
Safety instructions
–The anti-rolling coupling may only be operated
by one person during opening and closing.
–Press stabilising handle downwards or pull up-
wards with only one hand.

Operation

–Warning ! never work with the foot or an
extension!
–The components can be overloaded and get
damaged!
–Warning! stabilising handle must not be used as
a dolly.
Towbar support wheel
Release support clamp (1) by moving the clamp-
ing lever towards the left.
Push support wheel (3) downwards and tighten
again.
The height of the towbar support wheel can be ad-
justed continuously by turning the crank handle
(4).
Warning!
Push the towbar support wheel to the top position
before every journey and tighten it securely with
the clamping lever. Then wind up the support
wheel to the limit stop.
It is essential that the support wheel is attached
securely in the retaining jaws and cannot slip out.
Parking supports
The height of the parking supports located at the
front and back underneath the structure can be
continuously adjusted using the enclosed crank
handle. The crank handle will be found in the tow-
bar box.
Warning!
Danger of accident!
Before starting a journey it is essential to wind up
the parking supports to the topmost position.
Depending on the model, you must hear the sup-
ports engaging in position.

Setting up the caravan
When choosing a place to set up the caravan,
please note the following points:
–The ground surface should be as even and firm
as possible.
–Avoid wept, muddy places.
–The parking space should not slope too much.
Set the caravan up so that as far as possible it is
level. Using parking supports and wheel chocks,
secure the caravan so that it cannot roll away, and
ensure that it is level. If the subsoil cannot take all
of the weight, suitable materials, e.g. planks of
wood, should be placed underneath the parking
supports.
Warning!
Do not use parking supports as jacks.
Awning
If you want to enlarge the living area by setting up
an awning, you can connect the awning to the car-
avan. To do this, manoeuvre the awning into the
groove which runs around on the right-hand side
of the caravan.
Key
Your caravan comes with three copies of a single
key (with a black head). This opens the following
locks:
–entrance door
–storage compartments and towbar box cover
accessible from the outside
–filler hole for fresh water
Entrance door (internal)
The door is opened by moving the rotary lever in
position (1).
To lock the door from the inside, move the rotary
lever to position (2).

Note
To avoid damage to the hinged window near the
entrance door or to the entrance door, please note
that, depending on the caravan model, the action
of opening the entrance door right back could
damage the hinged window if that is open.
Warning!
Danger of accident!
Before setting off on a journey, close and secure-
ly lock the entrance door.
To lock the door, it must be pushed fully shut. In
the first lock position, it is not possible to open the
door.
Cupboard and hinged locks
Tugbar handles
To open
–Pull back cover, drawer or door.
To close
–Hold the handle firmly and push cover, drawer
or door until it engages.
Twistlock
To open
–Turn rotary knob by 90º towards the right.
–Pull back door.
To close
–Push door closed.
–Turn rotary knob by 90º towards the left.
Gib and cotter
To open
–Turn rotary knob by 90º towards the right.
–Pull back door.
To close
–Push door closed.
–Turn rotary knob by 90º towards the left until
both closing hooks are in position.

Loading the caravan
–The permissible trailer drawbar load (max. 100
kg), the permissible axle load and the total tech-
nically permissible mass(es) must not be ex-
ceeded and the trailer drawbar load must not
be less than the minimum trailer drawbar load.
–Observe the limits regarding permissible trailer
drawbar load and trailer load of the towing
vehicle!
Maximum load (maximum payload)
The maximum load is calculated as the total tech-
nically permissible mass minus the empty mass in
running order. Please note that permanently
mounted accessories can reduce the possible
maximum load.
Roof load
–The roof load of 50 kg including air conditioning
system must not be exceeded (roof strengthen-
ing).
–Independently of this, an awning weighing
approx. 30 kg can be mounted on the right-
hand side on the roof.
Instructions on correct loading
–For safety reasons, never overload the caravan
by exceeding the permissible maximum load.
–Take care to distribute the load evenly. The
centre of gravity of the load should if possible
be located in the centre above the trailer axle.
Incorrect loading may result in a risk of skid-
ding.
–Do not load the caravan so that it is rear-squat,
and make sure that the trailer drawbar load is
sufficient.
–Avoid loading the caravan so that one side is
heavier than the other.
–After loading the caravan, check the axle load,
the total technically permissible mass(es) and
the trailer drawbar load. The trailer drawbar
load should be close to the maximum permitted
trailer drawbar load, however do not exceed the
permitted trailer drawbar load of the trailer and
the towing vehicle. The permissible trailer draw-
bar load will be indicated on plates on the vehi-
cle (passenger vehicle and caravan).

Ventilator windows
The side, front and rear windows (depending on
the design) can be opened at the top to provide
ventilation. They are supported on the side and
can be adjusted universally.
To open
The window is continuously adjustable.
–Rotate lock (1) by 90º to the left or right.
–Push window outwards and move into the de-
sired position.
–Tighten locking screw (knob) on the positioning
lever.
To close
–Release locking screw (knob) (2).
–Shut window.
–Rotate lock (1) to the right or left.
Warning!
Danger of injury/accident!
For safety reasons all ventilator windows must be
closed while travelling and firmly placed in posi-
tion by rotating the bolt.
Sliding windows
–Release lock (1) and push window to the de-
sired position (open).
–Push window until you can hear it engage in
position (closed)
Multi-function roller blind
To open
–Pull blackout blind (1) with the grip recess plate
downwards out of the locking mechanism and
slide the blind upwards.
–Pull insect protection blind (2) with the grip
recess plate downwards out of the locking
mechanism and slide the blind upwards.
To close
–The blackout blind (1) can be set in three differ-
ent positions.
–Pull insect protection blind (2) right down and
lock in position.
–Then pull the blackout blind right down and lock
in position.
Warning!
Always move blinds by hand and do not allow
to shoot upwards, as otherwise damage could
occur.

Roof light extension
To open
–The roof light can be adjusted to one of three
positions (max. opening angle approx. 70º).
–Rotate locking swivel bolt (1) by 90º towards the
left or right.
–Push dome-shaped roof light upwards to the
desired position.
To close
–Pull dome-shaped roof light downwards
–Rotate locking swivel bolt (1) by 90º towards the
left or right until the closing clamps are aligned
centrally in the frame.
–The upper slot is for the forced ventilation.
–The lower slot is used to close the roof light.
Roof light blind
–Pull insect protection blind (2) to the stop po-
sition.
–Snap guide bar into position.
–Blackout slats (3) can be closed and opened in
different positions by pushing forward and
backwards.
Lift-up tilting roof (optional extra)
To open
–Press locking button (1) on both of the rotating
bolts located on the glass and rotate by approx.
90º.
–Grasp bow-type handle (2) in the centre and
release from the anchoring.
–Swing bow-type handle downwards and press
glass dome upwards.
–Lock bow-type handle again by swinging round
on to the glass dome.
To close
–Release bow-type handle from the anchoring
and raise slightly.
–Swing bow-type handle inwards and pull glass
dome down.
–Rotate both swivel bolts by approx. 90º and
lock.

Dining table / variable table
(dependent on model)
The dining table in your caravan can be lowered to
create an additional berth. The dining table of our
new table generation can be easily moved on rails
in order to reach every stowage area and every
seat position optimally. If the extra berth is set up,
first of all fold down the plate using a hand grip in
order then to simply release the base and move
the entire table. Your sleeping area is then avail-
able as quick as a flash, yet no loose parts are
involved.
Corner seating unit
Below the seat cushions there are storage com-
partments which can be reached by lifting up the
seat cushions.
Beds
Your caravan is fitted with a double bed* or two
single beds*. Underneath the beds there are
storage compartments which can be reached by
lifting up the bed overlays or else from the outside,
after opening the lockable service flaps (not pro-
vided on all model series). Lowering of the bed
overlays in the sleeping position is achieved by
pressing down on the bed overlays.
Groups of seats
The corner seating unit can also be rearranged
into another berth. To do this, lower the table and
the seat boxes. Then arrange the resulting area
with the seat, back and additional cushions.
These are stored in the bed and seat boxes.

Refrigerator
Before the refrigerator is used for the first time,
the interior should be cleaned with lukewarm
water to which a mild detergent has been added.
The refrigerator can be operated using any of the
following energy sources:
–12V DC current (only during the journey)
–230V AC voltage
–liquid gas
General tips regarding refrigerator operation
–Before stocking up with food and drink, the
refrigerator should be pre-cooled and only
loaded shortly before setting off. Under no
circumstances should hot food or drinks be
packed into the refrigerator when it is switched
on.
–Food and drinks should only be stored in the
refrigerator in sealed closing containers.
Setting of the desired mode of operation, switch-
ing on and off and regulation of the refrigerator
temperature are all performed using the control
panel.
1–toggle switch 12V ON/OFF (red)
2–toggle switch 230V ON/OFF (green)
3–control knob for refrigerator temperature with
230V mode of operation
4–rotary knob for gas supply
5–control knob for refrigerator temperature with
gas operation
6–pushbutton – used to activate igniter (red)
Warning!
Never have more than one energy source
switched on at a time. Otherwise the refrigerator
will not work and may sustain some damage.

12V operation
12V operation is possible only during a journey,
when the engine of the towing vehicle is running.
–Switch off gas operation if appropriate.
–Switch on toggle switch (1). Toggle switch will
turn red.
Note
During a journey the refrigerator should only be
operated with 12V current and not with gas.
230V operation
Check with the fault-current circuit breaker
whether there is a proper 230V connection to the
caravan.
–If appropriate, switch off gas or 12V operation.
–Switch control knob (3) to setting 7.
–Press toggle switch (2). Toggle switch will turn
green.
Gas operation (piezo ignition)
–If appropriate, switch off 12V/230V operation.
–Open gas shut-off valve.
–Press in rotary knob (4) and rotate to the “flame”
symbol.
–Set control knob (5) to setting 5.
–Hold the rotary knob (4) down, and at the same
time press in the igniter button (6) every two
seconds until the flame is burning.
–Hold the rotary knob (4) pressed in for approx.
10-15 sec until the safety pilot has been over-
ridden and gas flows into the burner. The gas
supply will then be automatically held open.
It is possible to check whether the flame is burn-
ing by looking through a viewing glass on the bot-
tom left-hand side inside the refrigerator. If the
flame goes out, repeat the ignition process.
Gas operation with automatic ignition system
Turn switch (6) to 1. The LED in the switch will
flicker. Hold rotary knob (4) down until LED in
switch (6) goes out. Hold rotary knob (4) pressed
in for another 10-15 sec.

Switch off gas operation
–Turn rotary knob (4) to the dot symbol.
–Close shut-off valve for the refrigerator.
Temperature control
In 12V operation it is not possible to control the
temperature. The refrigerator operates non-stop.
With 230V operation it is sufficient to set the
control knob (3) to 3-5.
In gas mode , the control knob (5) can be set to a
medium setting once the operating temperature
has been reached.
Door locking mechanism
The refrigerator door must be locked prior to
setting off on a journey.
A = door locked, B = door not locked
To open door
–Press locking knob (2) in direction of arrow.
–The locking button (1) jumps out.
To lock door
–Press in the locking button (1) until it is in posi-
tion.

Gas cooker
Warning! Danger of accident!
–Open the hinged and roof windows during
cooking.
–The cooker flames must not be used for heating
purposes.
–Due to the consumption of oxygen by the
flames, if the caravan is insufficiently ventilated
a lack of oxygen may develop. During pro-
longed operational breaks, and in any case
prior to setting off, the gas shut-off valve on
the gas cooker must be closed. Cookers
must not be operated at service stations as
open flames are forbidden there (danger of
explosion!).
The grating can be easily taken off for the pur-
poses of cleaning the cooker as it is only clamped
down.
To ignite burners
–Before igniting the burners, lift up the cover
plate and place the heat shield (2) in position at
the side.
–Press in rotary knob (1) for the desired burner
and rotate towards the left.
–Light the flow of gas at the side of the burner.
–Once the cooker flame is burning, hold down
the rotary knob for approximately another 15
seconds in order to temporarily override the
safety pilot. If the rotary knob is released too
early, the flame will go out, but can be immedi-
ately re-ignited.
–“Large flame” symbol – high setting
–“Small flame” symbol – low setting
To terminate cooking operations
–Turn rotary knob (1) to the right.
–Close gas shut-off valve on the gas cooker.
Toilet
There is a toilet in the shower room or wash room
that is fitted with a removable septic tank and an
electric water flush system. We recommend filling
the toilet bowl with a small amount of water prior
to use. This is done by pressing the flush button.

Before using for the first time
First of all take out the septic tank, as described
on the next page, and place it upright on the floor.
Swivel the drain connection piece upwards and
unscrew the cap. Measure out the toilet chemicals
in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifica-
tion, and pour in approx. 2 litres of water.
Environmental tip
When measuring out the chemicals, follow the
manufacturer’s specification exactly. Under no
circumstances use too many chemicals, as this
could cause unnecessary damage to the bacterial
cultures in municipal sewage treatment plants.
Lock the drain connection piece, swivel the con-
necting piece downwards and push the septic
tank back into its holding device.
WC model (1)
The waste water is collected in a special 17-litre
capacity septic tank. The level indicator (3) lights
up when the septic tank needs to be emptied.

Water flushing WC model (1)
The water flush receives the necessary supply of
water from the fresh water tank or from the sub-
terranean water supply connection, if applicable.
Flushing is initiated by pressing the flush button
(1). If at the same time the slide control (2) is acti-
vated in the direction of the arrow, the toilet base
opens up and the waste water flows into the
septic tank, while the flush cleanses the toilet. To
terminate flushing, release the flush button (1) and
close up the toilet base again by activating the
slide control (2) once more.
