Additional Instructions for

Since the manual was written for the iWAY 500C, several small
changes to its operation have occurred. These changes do appear in
your unit, and include:
3D Map Orientation
•In addition to the North Up and Track Up map orientations de-
scribed in the manual, you can also view the moving map in 3D
mode. Map Orientation options are described beginning on page
15 of your manual.
New Search Functionality
•Address searches, described on page 50 of the manual, can now be re-
fined by specifying the city/county in which the addresses are located.
•Any time you use Search By Nearest, you can narrow the list of results
using the Name Filter field to show only the locations you want.
•A new search option, FIND INTERSECTION, allows you to search for street
intersections when you don't have an address handy.
•The "Find Waypoint" button on the Find Menu is now labeled "Ad-
dress Book." Functionality remains as described on manual page 51.
Easier Music Browsing
•The Music Browser now displays folders and music files as icons,
making the selection of individual items within the list simpler.
•When you access the Music Browser while a song is playing, the
iWAY will now jump directly to the folder containing that song.
3D Map Orientation
When navigating in Map Mode, the iWAY constantly plots your posi-
tion on a moving map. Use the Map Orientation button in the top left
corner of your screen to cycle through the three available map orienta-
tion options. These include North Up and Track Up (both described in
your manual), and the new 3D mode.
3D Map Orientation mode helps put your path into perspective.

The 3D display renders the path ahead from a position above and be-
hind your current position, so that the display on the map more closely
matches what you'll actually see through your windshield.
Find Address
The Find Address command works exactly as described in your manual
(pages 50-51), but an additional field has been added to help narrow
your search. If your address search returns too long a list of possibili-
ties, you can specify which city or county you wish to search in by
pressing anywhere inside the CITY/COUNTY FILTER field.
The virtual keyboard will appear (as described in Sec. 5 of your man-
ual). Enter the desired city or county name, and then choose DONE. The
Find Address menu will appear again, with the information you en-
tered in the City/County Filter field. When you choose FIND ADDRESS, the
iWAY will only search within the city you've entered.
The Find Address menu now includes a City field to refine searches.
Using the Name Filter
A function similar to the City/County Filter has been added to refine
long lists whenever you search for POIs or waypoints using the Find By
Nearest option. Now, when the list of nearest locations appears, you
will see the Name Filter field along with the list of locations.

To use the Name Filter, press anywhere inside the NAME FILTER field, and
the virtual keyboard will appear. Type all or part of the name you are
looking for, and press DONE. The iWAY will return to the previous list,
but it will only show those locations whose names contain the text you
entered in the Name Filter field.
For instance, a search for the nearest Restaurants may provide too long
a list to be useful. You could significantly narrow the search by enter-
ing the word "Taco" in the Name Filter field. This shows all the nearest
Taco Bells, Taco Buenos, and any other restaurant nearby with "Taco"
anywhere in the name, as shown in the following images.

right, it has been narrowed using the Name Filter field.
Bear in mind that the search results provided by Find By Nearest only
contain locations within your local area. If you need to find a Point of
Interest farther away from you, you can always move the map to focus
on a different area and the iWAY will search from the cursor location.
Of course, if you know the name of the desired POI, you can use Search
By Name (instead of Nearest), and the iWAY will search everywhere.
Find Intersection
Find Intersection will let you navigate to any street intersection. This
can be a very helpful tool when you're trying to follow directions but
don't have a specific street address. You can also use the Find Intersec-
tion command to find a single street. To search for either an intersec-
tion or a street, from the Find Menu choose FIND INTERSECTION. The Find
Streets menu appears.
On the Find Streets menu, enter a name for the First Street by touch-
ing anywhere inside the FIRST STREET field. The virtual keyboard will
appear. Enter the name of the street (without direction or street type
modifiers such as "N." for "North" or "Ave." for Avenue). When you're
finished entering the street name, press DONE.

The iWAY will return to the Find Streets menu, with the entered name
showing in the First Street field. (In this example, it's 80th Street.)
You can use the Find Intersection command to find a single street by
entering a name and choosing Find First Street.
Find a Street
If you just want to find your way to a single street, choose FIND FIRST
STREET and the iWAY will provide a list of streets of similar names. If
the list is too long, try specifying a city by pressing inside the CITY field
and entering a name on the virtual keyboard.
From the list, choose the name of the street you're looking for, and the
iWAY will display it on the map.
Find an Intersection
To find an intersection, make sure you've entered a street name in the
First Street field as described in the previous instructions. Repeat those
steps to enter the name of a crossing street in the SECOND STREET field,
then choose FIND INTERSECTION and the iWAY will provide a list of all
known intersections of those two street names. Choose one from the
list, and the iWAY will show a dialog asking whether you want to GO TO
the intersection, FIND ON MAP, or ADD TO ADDRESS BOOK.

Using the Music Browser
The Music Browser is described in your manual under the heading Play
Lists on pages 32-33. The Music Browser still functions in the same
way, but files and folders now appear with larger icons (instead of the
single-line textual names) for easier selection using the touch-screen.
You will use the Music Browser exactly as described in the manual, but
the screen will differ slightly from the manual's illustrations.

playing, the Music Browser will jump directly to the folder containing
the active song, rather than the root of the music drive.
