The new Lightboards for Community Centres, Town Halls, Theatres, School Stages, Congress
Halls, Music Halls, Houses of Worship, TV-Studios......
Piccolo & Piccolo Scan are a very compact Lightboards with functions normally not found on
devices this size. they are very simple to use but give the possibility of having many functions for
complex procedures as demanded in theatre or in Live performance.
Piccolo & Piccolo Scan combine the simplicity of advanced lighting systems with a high technical
standard (Ethernet, USB…). Piccolo & Piccolo Scan can be operated as a manual Lightboards. The
Submasters can be loaded with Cues, Groups, and Effects. All these items can have programmed
times for their temporized control. Cues can be executed in a sequence which can be placed back
manually or with fade and wait times.
Piccolo & Piccolo Scan include several working modes. This makes this light board to adapt to any
level of user. From non professional which uses the Lightboard only sporadically, up to the
professional users that will need all the sophisticated resources for programming the shows in the
most artistic way.
And just one more, LT-Light has 4 Piccolo models and 2 Piccolo Scan models covering a wide

5. START UP
If you observe any irregularity when unpacking Piccolo, maybe caused due to transportation,
(blows, humidity...) then do not attempt to switch on the console before the problem is solved.
Place de console on a plane surface, good for you to work.
Connect the DMX cable to DMX-Output and to a Splitter or to first DMX user in the installation.
If your console model has VGA output, connect an external monitor to VGA (SubD-15) connector,
using standard video cables.
Connect the external power supply to DC-IN connector, and connect the plug of the other end to the
mains supply. You can connect the console to a UPS to avoid mains problems.
For safety the plug of the power supply should be visible and be easy accessible.
Switch on the console (switch in position I)
Set GMfader and SMfader to 100% (in its upper row), and check that on the associated keys
(blackout) the LED‘s are Off.
The Console is now ready to work
Please continue reading this manual.
If above directions are not followed, no guarantee for the safety of the equipment is given.

10. SELECTING THE WORKING MODE
Piccolo has 4 working modes:
Single: In this mode, all faders of the console (C#& S#) are channel faders. This mode
is ideal for the creation of cues, or to work with static scenes (conference room, etc). This mode
is very useful for editing because all the channels are accessible in only 2 banks using all faders.
In this mode the Crossfader is active, but the Submasters are not.
Double: In this mode the upper and lower row of console faders (C#& S#) are channel
faders and are used for the same channel. In this mode the console has 2 scenes and is ideal to
do a totally improvised manual sequence. The Crossfader is the control of scene change
between upper and lower row. Not all functions of the Crossfader & Submasters are accessible.
Theatre: In this mode the upper faders, C#, are channel faders in edition mode, and the
lower faders, S#, are Submaster faders. This mode is a conventional working mode for
lighting consoles, where it is possible to use all features such as sequences, effects, cues, groups,
etc.
Manual: In this mode the upper faders, C#, are channel faders in manual mode, and the

12. BASE DISPLAY / BASE SCREEN
12.1. Base Display
With the up-down arrow keys you look over the information about channels, fixtures (if
configurated), submasters and crossfader.
With the left-right arrow keys you look over more information about each item (channels,
fixtures…). The number of displays in horizontal it’s depended of the Piccolo model.
12.2. Screen
In the monitor, and depending of the model, the information is in one screen that, if necessary, is
paged pressing [↓] and [↑]. In the fixtures zone it’s possible to have more information about the
same fixtures, pressing [] & [].

Piccolo 18 from 82
www.lt-light.com
For the Piccolo of 48, 96 and 144 channels, and both models of Piccolo Scan, we have:
All the channels, fixtures (if are patched), all submasters, the list of events (if it’s at ON), and
finally the information of crossfader. In case of having many fixtures, is possible that we must
page pressing them [↓] and [↑]
For the Piccolo of 196 channels:
Due to the great number of channels and submasters, it will be necessary to also page always,
pressing [↓] and [↑].
First are the all channels, if is case of, the events list, and later the information of crossfader. In the
zone of channels we can visualize submasters pressing [↓], and if it you have fixtures, also to the
information of fixtures.
13. EDITING CHANNELS
Piccolo has 48, 96, 144, or 192, control channels (depending on the Piccolo model). These channels
are accessible from the faders and from the numeric keyboard.
Grand master & its blackout key are the general control of the scene output of all the channels
levels. To obtain full channel levels in scenes it will be necessary to:
Move GMto the upper end
Deactivate [BLK.OUT] (LED is off).
If necessary, edit the channels patch now, do this always before the beginning of any scenes edition.
(See DIMMER, pg-56)

13.1. CHANNEL FADERS
Each channel is controlled from its associated fader. The flash key has a status
LED for level information.
The fader is used to set the channels output level by moving it to any point in
its travel (from 0% to 100%). The fader LED (inside Flash key) is lit
according to the level of the channel in the scene.
The flash key allows to set the channels to 100% (FF) as long as the key is
pressed, when this key is released, the channel returns to its previous level.
The placement of the channels in banks, the possibility of editing from the
numeric keyboard, and the use of the playback make it possible that the
channel output level and the fader level will be different (as in example,
channels C2, C3 & C4). In this case the fader is “locked”and it has no direct
control over the level, to take back the control:
Move the fader to reach the output level, it will then unlock (a beep is emitted at this moment).
Now, the fader has control over its channel. (For previous example, move down C2 at 0%, and
move up C3 & C4 at full).
These faders can work as editor (for modes: THEATRE, SINGLE, DOUBLE) or as manual
filed (for mode: MANUAL).
13.1.1. CHANNEL FADERS AS EDITOR
Faders set the scene level of channels in priority mode, allowing to add level from these faders and
also to subtract levels that they are controlled from others playbacks. To free a channel of this
prioritary control, it’s needed to liberate it pressing [RST]
13.1.1. CHANNEL FADERS AS MANUAL FIELD
Faders set the scene level of channels in HTP mode (the higest level has preference); that allows to
add level from these faders but never to subtract levels that they are controlled from others
playbacks.
13.2. KEYBOARD
It is also possible (and sometimes faster) to edit channels using the functions keyboard, this always
works in priority mode (as editor). Piccolo has several keys dedicated for editing channel values:
[CHANNEL] Used to select channels (a channel or several not direct following channels)
[THRU] Used to select a range of channels
[@] Used to enter a numeric level for the selected channels.
EncoderUsed to set or edit a level, in a continuous mode, for the selected channels.
[EXCEPT] Used to exclude channels from the selection.
[RST] Used to “release” the selection.

[CHANNEL] [#], a channel (with the number #)
[CHANNEL] [#] [CHANNEL] [#] …, several channels
[CHANNEL] [#] [THRU] [#], a channels range

quick selection. In example, the selection of odd channels from channel 11:
