PLEASE READ AND FOLLOW THIS QUICK TEST INSTRUCTION UPON
RECEIVING YOUR FURNACE
In this instruction, we provide a simple way to test your furnace. This will help all of us to determine whether
the furnace would be running normally or has defective or potential problem caused by transportation.
STEP 1
Remove the packing foam from the furnace
OTF-Series
GSL-Series
KSL-Series
Remove the packing foam inside
the chamber.
Open the top cover of the furnace
by screwing off four pieces of
M2.5 bolts in the top cover. Then
remove the packing foam.
For KSL-1600X, KSL-1700X,
KSL-1800X furnace, open the top
cover of the furnace by screwing
off four pieces of M2.5 bolts in the
top cover. Then remove the
packing foam.
STEP 2
Place the thermoblocks
OTF-Series
GSL-Series
KSL-Series
Place the tube in the chamber. And
insert the thermoblocks from both
sides of the tube. Then close the
furnace cover.
Our high temperature GSL series
furnaces require two thermoblocks
on each side.
1. Before inserting the
thermoblocks, please make sure
L1 and L2 are same length,
meaning the processing tube
Insert the door block into the
furnace chamber. (NOTE: You
must insert the door block while
the furnace is heating. And take
off the door block when the
furnace is completely cooling
down.)
should be centered.
2. When placing the thermoblocks,
make sure the insert depth (the
distance between the edge of the
tube and outside edge of the outer
thermoblock) equals to L1 or L2.
Attention: Incorrect thermoblock
position may cause tube failure
during the heat treatment, please
always follow the instructions
which are provided by MTI
Corporation for safe operation.
STEP 3
Connect the power cord of the furnace to the correct power source
1. Check the electrical ratings which are located in the label on the back of the furnace.
2. Make sure the power switch in the front panel is in the OFF position before connecting the furnace to the
power supply.
3. Consult a professional or licensed electrician to perform the power connections.
NOTE: The plug does not come with the furnace. Please order it at our website.

STEP 4
Power on the furnace
Turn the LOCK switch clockwise to turn on the power of the furnace. Then press the green button to turn on
the relay.
STEP 5
Perform a test run on heating
Simply press and hold the RUN button of the temperature controller for 3 seconds. Then the furnace starts
running and heating up to 800°C. The heating program has been set up before we ship out our equipment.
The heating program is:

Wait until the program stops. If the furnace gets trap in the halfway or problem was found after inspection.
