FEATURES

FRONT PANEL
1. USB PORT
This is a terminal used for uploading or downloading MP3 files from a PC by connecting an USB cable ; or
operating this unit with USB memory mounted.
In connection with a PC with an USB cable, no function buttons operate, to play stored files, remove the
cable connected to a PC
Notes: For mounting the USB memory, function buttons operate for USB memory and it cannot play files
contained in the built in memory. To play files stored in the built in memory, remove the USB memory.
2. HEADPHONE OUTPUT JACK
Headphone can be connected to this jack to monitor the sound during record or playback mode.
3. DUAL FUNCTION LEVEL INDICATOR
While recording, the meters shows the input signal level. During playback, the meters shows the output
signal level.
4. INPUT VOLUME LEVEL
The position of this control knob determines the strength of the input signal while recording.
5. STATUS DISPLAY
The window displays various operation information of this unit.
6. MIC INPUT JACK
The input accepts a ¼” balanced or unbalanced microphone for recording a voice message.
7. KEYBORD

1. AC CONNECTOR AND FUSE HOLDER
Connect the supplied standart AC input cable to this input. The fuse holder below the input contains the AC
overload protection fuse. If the fuse has blown out, replace it with a fuse of the same type and rating. If the
fuse continues to blow, refer servicing to a qualified service technician.
2. DC INPUT TERMINAL
This is a DC +24V power input terminal to operate this unit by connecting with DC power.
3. SERIAL PORT
This connector is inactive. Please don’t connect anything on this one.
4. CD INPUT JACK
This input accepts a CD player for the purpose of recording.

5. AUX SOCKET
The modulation in-connector (generally music) is automatically cut off by the digital playback-recorder to
have the message broadcast. It is mainly used for the slogan player function. Asymmetrical 0dB level.
6. OUTPUT
Modulation out-connector of the playback-recorder. It is an asymmetrical 0dB level.
7. Remote Control Socket
Input of remote controls (NO) for the 15 messages to be remote released and generation of a dry contact for
outdoor use (i.e. control of a switching preamp).
See pin configuration below.

OPERATING METHOD
The LEN15M player is provided with 3 operating modes:
- The Manual mode (MANUEL),
- The Remote Control mode (TELECOM),
- The Slogan mode (SLOGANS)
1 –The Mode Change:
To change from a mode to another, press on “ENTRÉE” at least during 1 second.
Then, you have access to the MODE menu of the player:

When pressing on the I button, you change from a mode to another: SLOGAN/ TELECOM/ MANUEL.
Once the mode is selected, press on « ENTREE » to have it confirmed.
2 –The Manual Mode:
In Manual mode, the display window displays as follows (the text scrolls):

The indicated track number corresponds to the number of the file the player is pointing out.
2.1 Playback / Pause
Playback a file by pressing on II button once you have selected the number of the file you want to
playback with I/I buttons.
When pressing again on II, PAUSE the playback of the file. When pressing one more time on II, the
playback starts again.
When playback is running, you can stop it by pressing on .
When playback is in process, you can change the track by pressing on I/I.

2.2 Playback / Pause
Constant repeat of a message:
You can playback a message or the whole messages constantly.
To have a message repeated, press once on “REPEAT” till REPEAT 1 displays on the display window,
select the message to be played back with I/I buttons and launch the playback with II.
Then the display window is as follows:

Stop the constant repeat by pressing on .
Then the display window is as follows:
The REPEAT function remains active. To cancel it, press one more time on “REPEAT” till the text no longer
displays on the display window.
Constant Repeat of all Messages:
To have all messages repeat constantly, press twice on “REPEAT” till REPEAT ALL displays on the display
window and press on II.
Then the display window is as follows:
Stop the constant repeat by pressing on . The REPEAT function remains active. To cancel it, press one more
time on “REPEAT” till the text no longer displays on the display window.
2.3 Recording
You can record files from a CD, MP3… player by connecting it on the CD input of the player or from a
hand microphone by connecting it on the MIC IN input of the player.
When pressing on the “REC/PAUSE” button, the “RECORD Attente” indication displays on the display
window and “RECORD Pause” once the recording preparation phase has ended.

When pressing again on the “REC/PAUSE” button, the recording starts. Then the display window is as
follows:

The recording time scrolls.
When pressing on “REC/PAUSE”, you can PAUSE the recording. To restart the recording, press one more
time on “REC/PAUSE” and the recording restarts. This allows to record the tracks selected on the same file
only.
When pressing on , you stop the recording.
2.4 Deletion
With this function, you can delete files saved up in the memory.
To make a deletion, press on ‘”DELETE”, select the file you want to delete with the (I/I) button
and press on the “ENTRÉE” button to confirm deletion.
PLEASE NOTE:
If 15 messages are recorded in the player, should you delete the message 1, then all messages will
move forward, i.e. the message 2 will be the message 1, the message 3 will be the message 2 and so on.
When all tracks stored in the memory are deleted, the “VIERGE” indication displays on the display
window.
3 –The Remote Control Mode:
You can choose between two types of configuration:
-Pulse: with a dry contact, the message starts and is broadcast just once.
-Permanent: the message is played repeatedly as long as the dry contact is maintained.
In Remote Control mode, the player cuts off the modulation entering in AUX input and broadcasts the
messages saved up in the player in the presence of any remote control.
On the standby screen, the “Mode Télécommande actif” scrolls.

Under this mode, the keyboard buttons are inhibited except the II button providing some help.
Change of the Configuration type:
When pressing on , we enter the program menu. Then the display window is as follows:

TELECOMMANDE : Mode Impulsion
The following text scrolls: <<TELECOMMANDE : Mode Impulsion>> or <<TELECOMMANDE : Mode
Permanent>>.
We change from a mode to the other by pressing on I. Once the right mode is selected, confirm pressing on
“ENTRÉE”. Then, the standby screen appears again (<<Mode Télécommande actif>> scrolls).
From then on, the player is ready and is waiting for the remote controls (NO) for the messages to be released
(see the remote control connector pin configuration).
The messages have priority, i.e. while the message 3 is being broadcast and a remote control is connected on
contact 1, then the player stops the broadcasting of message 3 and starts to broadcast message 1.
If a remote control is being applied to have a nonexistent message released, the player displays on the display
windows as follows: <<TELECOMMANDE : Message sélectionné inexistant>>.
4 –The SLOGAN Mode:
In the Slogan mode, the player cuts off the modulation coming into AUX input and broadcasts the messages
recorded in the player.
Two things can be parameterized:
-Time between broadcasting of 2 messages: from 1 minute to 99 hours and 59 minutes.
-Selection and broadcasting order of messages (sequence).
4.1 –Programming Principle of Sequences:
Making a sequence allows to select the messages to be broadcast in the Slogan mode, the broadcasting order
and the number of messages to be broadcast.
For instance, the following sequences can be made:
The number under Prg corresponds to the broadcasting number of the message and the number under No
corresponds to the number of the message to be broadcast.

In this 1st case, the messages from 1 to 15 are all broadcast repeatedly just once and in order. (Such a
sequence is the sequence saved in the ex-works appliance).
The 0 (under Prg 16) corresponds to the end of the sequence.

In this 2nd case, 7 messages are being broadcast in the following order: No 1, No 3, No 6, No 2, No 7, No 2, No
10 and No 1 is broadcast again…
Doing that way, the same message can be broadcast several times in the same sequence (in order to increase the
broadcast frequency). It is also possible not to broadcast messages yet stored in the player.
Please note 0 always appears at the end of a sequence.
In the Slogan mode, the <<Mode Slogans actif>> text scrolls on the standby screen.
4.2- Sequence Programming:
The programming of the 2nd sequence is taken as an example as follows:

The number of program 1 corresponds to message 1. No modification has to be done for the number of message
1.
We change to the number of program 2 by pressing once on « ENTREE ».
Then, the display window displays as follows with the flashing program number under No:
For Prg 2, message number 3 has to be broadcast. Press on I/I, select the number of message 3 and
confirm pressing on “ENTRÉE”.
Then, we change to the number of program 3. Then, the display window displays as follows with the program
number flashing under No:
Press on I/I, select the number of message 6 and confirm pressing on “ENTRÉE”.
Then, we change to the number of program 4. Then, the display window displays as follows with the program
number flashing under No:
Press on I/I, select the number of message 2 and confirm pressing on “ENTRÉE”.
Such process has to be repeated till the 7 messages have been programmed.
PLEASE NOTE:
Once the sequence has been completely programmed, the number of the message (No) corresponding to
the number of the following program (Prg) has to correspond to 0. Otherwise, the player will scan 99
program numbers and will broadcast nonexistent or non requested programs.
For instance in that case, the sequence has 7 programs. Therefore, the message number (No) of Program (Prg)
number 8 has to be 0.
Then, when you get to program number (Prg) 8, press I/I buttons, select 0 and confirm by pressing on
“ENTRÉE”.

The sequence programming is now completed and confirmed.
Then you directly get to the duration programming between 2 messages.
4.3 –Duration Programming between 2 Messages:
On the display window, the text << SLOGANS : durée entre diffusion des messages>> scrolls.
Then, the display window displays as follows:
Figures under HH correspond to hours and figures under MM correspond to minutes.
Then figures under HH start to flash. Enter the required value with the I/I buttons. “DELETE” and
“REPEAT” allow to change from hours to minutes and vice versa.
Once you have entered the right duration with hours and minutes, confirm with the “ENTRÉE” button.
Please note that when you press on to enter in the SLOGAN mode-programming, you first get to the
sequence programming and then to the duration programming. If you want to program the duration
only, press one more time on to get to it when you are processing the sequence programming.
In Slogan mode, if a sequence is programmed with a nonexistent message, the player will display on the display
window “SLOGAN : message inexistant” whenever it has to play such message.
5 –Message Transfer via a USB Port:
This function can be accessed from any kind of mode. Whenever any USB cable is connected from a PC, the
player is automatically identified.

Doing that way, you can delete or add MP3 format-messages from the PC.
Messages are the INTERM/VOICE/ directory.
Caution: once messages have been deleted, they systematically move forward. If you delete the message
1, the message 2 will be the message 1 and so on.
The order of messages is the order in which you enter them in the player.
Whenever the USB cable is disconnected, the player converts automatically to the previous operating mode.
6 - Miscellaneous:
All parameters are saved in the EEPROM memory. Thus, in case of a power cut, the player starts again in the
previous mode with the same parameters.
