Application for Intended Use
This drilling machine is designed for dry core drilling only. It is used as a hand-
held manually operated machine only. The diamond core drilling machine
DDM150 is intended only for professional use and may only be operated by
instructed persons. In conjunction with the corresponding diamond core bits, the
machine is designed for drilling concrete, stone, bricks, sand-lime brick, aerated
concrete and masonry, asphalt.

Safety Instructions
Safe operation of the device is only possible if the operating
instructions are completely read and strictly adhered to.
In addition, the general safety instructions in the attached
booklet must be followed. It is advised on practice runs before
the first use.
If the mains cable gets damaged or cut during the use, do not touch it, but
immediately pull the plug out of the socket. Never use the tool with a damaged
mains cable.
Before drilling into walls and ceilings, check them for hidden power cables, gas,
water pipes and any other media. Check the working area, e.g. using a metal
detector. Prior to the start of your work, consult a structural engineer to determine
the exact hole drilling position. When drilling through ceilings, secure the area
below, as the core can fall down.
The device must not be damp or operated in a humid environment.
Work area safety:
•Keep your work area clean and with good visibility.
•Do not operate the power tool in a potentially explosive environment in which
flammable liquids, gases or dust are present.
•Power tools create sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes.
•Keep children and bystanders away while operating a power tool.
•Persons under 16 years are not allowed to use the tool.
Electrical safety:
•The plug of the power tool must fit into the correct socket.
•Never modify the plug in any way. Do not use any adapter plugs with earthed
(grounded) power tools.
•Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces, such as pipes,
radiators, ranges and refrigerators.
•Do not expose power tools to rain or any moisture.
•Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling or unplugging
the power tool.
•Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts.
•When operating a power tool outdoors, use an extension cord suitable for
outdoor use only.If operating a power tool in a damp environment is
unavoidable, use a residual current device (RCD) 230v only.

Personal safety:
•Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating
a power tool. Do not use a power tool while you are tired or under the
influence of drugs, alcohol or medication.
•Do not use the tool while standing on a ladder.
•During use, the user and other persons standing in the vicinity must be
wearing appropriate P.P.E. including suitable goggles, safety helmet, ear
protectors, dust mask, protective gloves and safety boots.
•Do not drill into any asbestos-containing materials.
•Any modification of the tool is prohibited.
•Unplug the power cord and make sure that the switch is in the off position if
the tool is left unattended e.g. during preparation and take-down works, in
case of power failure or while insertion or mounting of accessories.
•Unplug the tool immediately if it stops for any reason. So, to avoid any
sudden start-up in an unattended condition.
•Do not use the device if a part of the housing is defective or if there is
damage to the switch, supply line or plug.
•When working, always move the mains, extension cable and suction hose to
the rear of the device.
•The tool must be operated by two hands only using side handle provided or
on the correct drill stand.
•Keep the handles dry, clean, and free from oil and grease.
•Do not touch any rotating parts.
•During manual operation, always hold the tool with both hands and stand
securely. Observe the tool reaction torque in case of blockage.
•Always work in the correct manner, paying attention at all times. Do not use
the tool if you are tired or lacking in concentration.
•For manual drilling, the DDM150 may only be used in conjunction with its
additional handle which comes with the tool.
Service
•All damages to be repaired by a specialist only.
•Power tools must be visually inspected by a specialist at regular intervals.
For further safety instructions, see the enclosed attachment!
Electrical Connection
Prior to putting the tool into operation, check the mains voltage for conformity with
the requirements as stated on the machines rating plate.
Voltage deviations of + 5 % and –15 % are permissible. The tool has a start-up
speed limiter to prevent automatic circuit breakers from being triggered
automatically.

Using a generator or transformer
This machine may be powered by a generator or transformer when the following
conditions are fulfilled: The unit must provide a power output in watts of at least
twice the value printed on the type identification plate on the machine. The
operating voltage must always remain within +5% and -15% of the nominal
voltage and the frequency must be in the 50 –60 Hz range and never above 65
Hz, and the unit must be equipped with an automatic voltage regulator and
starting boost.
NOTE
Switching other machines or appliances on and off can cause undervoltage
and/or overvoltage surges which could damage the machine. Never operate other
machines from the generator/transformer at the same time.
Only use extension cables with enough cross-section. A cross-section which is
too small could cause a considerable drop in performance and an overheating of
machine and cable.

ON: Press the ON/OFF switch
OFF: Release the ON/OFF switch
Long-time operation
ON: Keeping the ON/OFF switch pressed, push in the locking button.
OFF: Press and release the ON/OFF switch again.
Attention!
Use the locking button only during operation with drill
stand/rig. Its use during manual operation is not allowed. If
the machine stops for any reason or due to a power failure,
immediately release the locking button by pressing the
ON/OFF switch.

Notice for use of diamond core bits
WARNING
Make sure that the power cord and the hoses do not come into contact with
rotating parts.
DANGER
When working with slotted core bits, take care to keep your fingers clear of the
slots.
CAUTION
The machine and the drilling operation generate noise. Wear ear protectors.
Excessive noise may damage the hearing.
CAUTION
Drilling may cause hazardous flying fragments. Flying fragments present a risk of
injury to the eyes and body. Wear eye protection and a safety helmet.
WARNING
In accordance with the applications for which it is designed, the machine
produces a high torque. Always use the side handle and hold the machine with
both hands. The user must be prepared for sudden locking and stalling of the
cutting tool.
DANGER
The operator must be prepared for sudden locking and stalling of the cutting tool
and must therefore have stable & secure stance with both feet.
Fitting the diamond core bit
CAUTION
The core bit may get hot during use or during sharpening. There is a
risk of burning your hands. Wear protective gloves when changing the
core bit.
•Check that the machine is disconnected from the electric supply.
•Fit the end of the core bit into the dust suction unit (If used).
•Fit the end of the dust suction unit into the tool holder end of the machine (If
used).
•Fit directly onto the machine 1 ¼” UNC or adaptor for the ¼” BSP dry cores.

Removing the diamond core bit
CAUTION
Wear protective gloves when changing cutting tools as they get hot
during use.
CAUTION
The core bit will be full of dust and drilled-out material. Work from a secure stance
and make sure you are ready to support the additional weight of the drilled-out
material.
•Release the on / off switch on the power tool and slowly pull the core bit out of
the hole.
•Switch off the vacuum cleaner if you are using one.
•Check that the machine is disconnected from the electric supply.
•Remove the core if necessary.
•Remove the core bit.
Procedure in the event of the core bit sticking
In the event of the core bit sticking, the clutch will slip until the user switches the
power tool off. The core bit can be released by taking the following action:
Manual work
•Disconnect the supply cord plug from the power socket.
•Grip the core bit with a suitable open-end wrench close to the connection end
and release the core bit by rotating it.
•Plug the machine’s supply cord into the power socket.
•Resume the drilling operation.
Drill rig work
•Disconnect the supply cord plug from the power socket.
•Release the core bit from the hole by turning it with the hand wheel.
•Plug the machine’s supply cord into the power socket.
•Resume the drilling operation.

Dust Extraction / Dust Protection
Dust generated during work is harmful to your health. That is why it is advisable to
use a vacuum cleaner and to wear a dust mask on dry drilling.
The use of dust extraction is also a prerequisite for optimum cutting performance
of the drill bit (air cooling). For the selection of suitable drill bits for different
materials, please refer to the specifications of the drill bit manufacturer.
CAUTION
When working, always guide the vacuum cleaner hose away to the rear of the
machine so that it cannot come into contact with the core bit.
CAUTION
Please read the operating instructions for the vacuum cleaner for information
about disposal of the material collected.
NOTE
To avoid electrostatic effects, use an anti-static vacuum cleaner.
Dust from material such as paint containing lead, some wood species, minerals
and metal may be harmful. Contact with or inhalation of the dust may cause
allergic reactions and/or respiratory diseases to the operator or bystanders.
Certain kinds of dust are classified as carcinogenic such as oak and beech dust
especially in conjunction with additives for wood conditioning (chromate, wood
preservative).
Material containing asbestos must only be treated by specialists.
•Use a dust extraction device if possible.
•To achieve a high level of dust collection, use an industrial vacuum cleaner
(category M) for wood and/or mineral dust together with this tool.
•The work place must be well ventilated.
•The use of a dust mask of filter class P2 is recommended.
Overload Protection / Safety Clutch
To protect the user, motor and drill bit the power tool is equipped with a
mechanical and thermal overload protection.
Mechanical: In case of sudden jamming of the drill bit, the drill spindle is
decoupled from the motor by means of a slip clutch.
The safety clutch served for compensation of shocks and
overload. To keep its functionability, it should not slip for more
than 2 seconds. In case of excessive wearing, it can be replaced
by an authorized service centre.

Maintenance
Make sure to disconnect the plug from the mains before beginning
maintenance or repair works.
Care of cutting tools and metal parts
Remove any dirt adhering to the surface of cutting tools, the chuck and drive
spindle and protect their surfaces from corrosion by rubbing them with an oil-
soaked cloth from time to time. Always keep the connection end clean and lightly
greased.
Care of the machine
CAUTION
Keep the machine, especially its grip surfaces, clean and free from oil and
grease. Do not use cleaning agents which contain silicone.
•The outer casing of the machine is made from impact-resistant plastic.
•Never operate the machine when the ventilation slots are blocked.
•Clean the ventilation slots carefully using a dry brush.
•Do not permit foreign objects to enter the interior of the machine.
•Clean the outside of the machine at regular intervals with a slightly damp
cloth.
•Do not use a spray, steam pressure cleaning equipment or running water for
cleaning. This may negatively affect the electrical safety of the machine.
Maintenance
WARNING
Repairs to the electrical section of the machine may be carried out only by trained
electrical specialists.
According to its design, the tool requires a minimum of care and maintenance.
However, the following maintenance works, and component checks have to be
performed at regular intervals:
•Once per quarter of a year, an electrical specialist should check the switch,
cable and plug.
Replacing the carbon brushes
DANGER
Failure to observe the following instructions may result in contact with dangerous
electric voltage.
•Disconnect the machine from the electric supply.

•Open the carbon brush covers on the left-hand and right-hand side of the
motor.
•Take note of how the carbon brushes are fitted and how the conductors are
positioned. Remove the worn carbon brushes from the machine.
•Fit the new carbon brushes just as the old ones were fitted
NOTE
Take care to avoid damaging the insulation on the indicator co as you insert
the brushes.
•Close the carbon brush covers on the left-hand and right-hand side of the
motor and tighten the retaining screws
Environmental
Do not dispose of electric tools together with household waste!
In observance of European Directive 2012/19/EU on waste
electrical and electronic equipment and its implementation in
accordance with national law, electric tools that have reached the
end of their life must be collected separately and returned to an
environmentally compatible recycling facility.
Noise & Vibration Emission
Measured sound values determined according to EN 60745.
Typically the A-weighted noise levels of the product are:
Sound pressure level LpA < 85 dB(A)
Sound power level LwA < 70 dB(A)
Uncertainty K 3 dB
Wear ear protection!
The specified vibration emission level represents the main applications of the tool.
However, if the tool is used for different applications, with different accessories or
is poorly maintained, the vibration emission may differ. This may significantly
increase the exposure level over the total working period. An estimation of the
level of exposure to vibration should also take into account the times when the
tool is switched off or when it is running but not actually doing the job. This may
significantly reduce the exposure level over the total working period. Identify
additional safety measures to protect the operator from the effects of vibration
such as: maintain the tool and the accessories, keep the hands warm,
organisation of work patterns.

Warranty
In accordance with our general terms of delivery, a warranty period for defects of
12 months (proof by invoice or delivery note) applies to business transactions with
companies.
Damage due to natural wear, overstressing or improper handling are excluded
from this warranty. Damages due to material defects or production faults shall be
eliminated free of charge by either repair or replacement. Complaints will be
accepted only if the tool was returned in non-dismantled condition to the supplier
where it has been bought or directly to Marcrist.

Bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung
Diese Bohrmaschine ist nur für trockenes Kernbohren ausgelegt. Es wird nur als
manuell bedienbares Handgerät verwendet. Die Diamant- Kernbohrmaschine
DDM150 ist nur für den professionellen Einsatz bestimmt und darf nur von
unterwiesenen Personen bedient werden.
In Verbindung mit den entsprechenden Diamantbohrkronen ist die Maschine zum
Bohren von Beton, Stein, Ziegeln, Kalksandstein, Porenbeton und Mauerwerk
sowie Asphalt ausgelegt.

Sicherheitshinweise
Gefahrloses Arbeiten mit dem Gerät ist nur möglich, wenn Sie
die Bedienungsanleitung vollständig lesen und die darin
enthaltenen Anweisungen strikt befolgen.
Zusätzlich müssen die allgemeinen Sicherheitshinweise im
beigelegten Heft befolgt werden. Lassen Sie sich vor dem
ersten Gebrauch praktisch einweisen.
Wird bei der Arbeit die Anschlussleitung beschädigt oder durchtrennt, diese nicht
berühren, sondern sofort den Netzstecker ziehen. Gerät niemals mit beschädigter
Anschlussleitung betreiben.
Überprüfen Sie vor dem Bohren in Decken und Wänden die Bohrstelle auf
verdeckt liegende Strom-, Gas- und Wasserleitungen oder andere Medien.
Überprüfen Sie den Arbeitsbereich, z.B. mit einem Metallortungsgerät.
Konsultieren Sie den verantwortlichen Statiker vor Beginn Ihrer Arbeit zur
Festlegung der genauen Position der Bohrung. Sichern Sie bei Durchbohrungen
durch Decken den Bereich von unten ab, da der Bohrkern nach unten
herausfallen kann.
Das Gerät darf nicht feucht sein und nicht in feuchter Umgebung betrieben
werden.
Arbeitsplatzsicherheit:
•Halten Sie Ihren Arbeitsbereich sauber und gut beleuchtet.
•Arbeiten Sie mit dem Elektrowerkzeug nicht in explosionsgefährdeter
Umgebung, in der sich brennbare Flüssigkeiten, Gase oder Stäube befinden.
•Elektrowerkzeuge erzeugen Funken, die den Staub oder die Dämpfe
entzünden können.
•Halten Sie Kinder und andere Personen während der Benutzung des
Elektrowerkzeugs fern.
•Personen unter 16 Jahren dürfen das Gerät nicht benutzen.
Elektrische Sicherheit
•Der Anschlussstecker des Elektrowerkzeuges muss in die Steckdose passen.
•Der Stecker darf in keiner Weise verändert werden. Verwenden Sie keine
Adapterstecker gemeinsam mit schutzgeerdeten Elektrowerkzeugen.
•Vermeiden Sie Körperkontakt mit geerdeten Oberflächen wie von Rohren,
Heizungen, Herden und Kühlschränken.
•Halten Sie Elektrowerkzeuge von Regen oder Nässe fern.
•Setzen Sie Elektrowerkzeuge weder Regen noch Feuchtigkeit aus.

•Halten Sie das Kabel fern von Hitze, Öl, scharfen Kanten oder sich
bewegenden Geräteteilen.
•Wenn Sie ein Elektrowerkzeug im Freien betreiben, verwenden Sie nur ein
Verlängerungskabel, das nur für den Gebrauch im Freien geeignet ist. Wenn
der Betrieb eines Elektrowerkzeugs in einer feuchten Umgebung
unvermeidbar ist, verwenden Sie nur einen Fehlerstromschutzschalter (RCD)
von 230 V.
Sicherheit von Personen
•Seien Sie aufmerksam, achten Sie darauf, was Sie tun, und gehen Sie mit
Vernunft an die Arbeit mit einem Elektrowerkzeug. Benutzen Sie kein
Elektrowerkzeug, wenn Sie müde sind oder unter dem Einfluss von Drogen,
Alkohol oder Medikamenten stehen. Ein Moment der Unachtsamkeit beim
Gebrauch des Elektrowerkzeuges kann zu ernsthaften Verletzungen führen.
•Arbeiten Sie nicht auf Leitern.
•Der Benutzer und die sich in der Nähe aufhaltenden Personen müssen
während der Benutzung des Gerätes eine geeignete Schutzbrille,
Schutzhelm, Gehörschutz, Staubschutzmaske, Schutzhandschuhe und
Sicherheitsschuhe benutzen.
•Asbesthaltige Materialien dürfen nicht bearbeitet werden.
•Manipulationen am Gerät sind nicht erlaubt.
•Ziehen Sie den Netzstecker, und überprüfen Sie, dass der Schalter
ausgeschaltet ist, wenn die Kernbohrmaschine unbeaufsichtigt bleibt, z.B. bei
Auf- und Abbauarbeiten, bei Spannungsausfall, beim Einsetzen bzw. bei der
Montage eines Zubehörteiles.
•Schalten Sie die Maschine ab, wenn Sie aus irgendeinem Grund stehen
bleibt. Sie vermeiden damit das plötzliche Anlaufen im unbeaufsichtigten
Zustand.
•Benutzen Sie das Gerät nicht, wenn ein Teil des Gehäuses defekt ist, bzw.
bei Beschädigungen an Schalter, Zuleitung oder Stecker.
•Führen Sie beim Arbeiten das Netz-, das Verlängerungskabel und den
Absaugschlauch immer nach hinten vom Gerät weg.
•Das Werkzeug darf nur mit zwei Händen mit dem mitgelieferten Seitengriff
oder am richtigen Bohrständer bedient werden
•Halten Sie die Handgriffe trocken, sauber und frei von Öl und Fett.
•Nicht in rotierende Teile fassen.
•Während des Handbetriebes Gerät immer mit beiden Händen halten und
einen sicheren Stand einnehmen. Beachten Sie das Reaktionsdrehmoment
der Maschine im Blockierfall.
•Arbeiten Sie stets konzentriert. Gehen Sie überlegt vor und verwenden Sie
das Gerät nicht, wenn Sie unkonzentriert sind.

•Für das manuelle Bohren darf das DDM150 nur in Verbindung mit seinem
zusätzlichen Griff verwendet werden, der mit dem Werkzeug geliefert wird
Service
•Lassen Sie Schäden nur von einem Fachmann beseitigen.
•Elektrowerkzeuge müssen in regelmäßigen Abständen einer Sichtprüfung
durch den Fachmann unterzogen werden.

Elektrische Sicherheit
Prüfen Sie vor Inbetriebnahme die Übereinstimmung der Netzspannung und -
frequenz mit den auf dem Typenschild angegebenen Daten.
Spannungsabweichungen von + 5 % und –15 % sind zulässig.
Die Maschine verfügt über eine Anlaufstrombegrenzung die verhindert, dass
flinke Sicherungsautomaten unbeabsichtigt auslösen.
Arbeiten mit einem Transformator oder Generator
Dieses Gerät kann an einem Generator oder bauseitigen Transformator betrieben
werden, wenn die folgenden Bedingungen eingehalten sind: Abgabeleistung in
Watt mindestens doppelte Leistung wie auf dem Typenschild des Geräts
angegeben, die Betriebsspannung muss jederzeit innerhalb +5 % und -15 % zur
Nennspannung sein und die Frequenz muss 50 bis 60 Hz betragen, niemals über
65 Hz und es muss ein automatischer Spannungsregler mit Anlaufverstärkung
vorhanden sein.
HINWEIS
Das Ein- und Ausschalten anderer Geräte kann Unterspannungs- und / oder
Überspannungsspitzen verursachen, die das Gerät beschädigen können.
Betreiben Sie am Generator / Transformator keinesfalls gleichzeitig andere
Geräte.
Verwenden Sie nur Verlängerungskabel mit ausreichendem Querschnitt. Ein zu

Achtung!
Benutzen Sie den Feststellknopf nur im Ständerbetrieb. Die
Anwendung im Handbetrieb ist untersagt. Bei jedem
maschinell bedingten Stillstand oder einer Unterbrechung
der Stromversorgung ist der Feststellknopf sofort durch
Drücken des Ein-Aus-Schalters zu lösen.
Hinweis zum Verwenden der Bohrkrone
WARNUNG
Achten Sie darauf, dass das Netzkabel und Schläuche nicht mit drehenden Teilen
in Berührung kommen.
GEFAHR
Achten Sie beim Arbeiten mit geschlitzten Bohrkronen darauf, dass Sie mit den
Fingern nicht in die Schlitze kommen.
VORSICHT
Das Gerät und der Bohrvorgang erzeugen Schall. Tragen Sie Gehörschutz. Zu
starker Schall kann das Gehör schädigen.
VORSICHT
Durch das Bohren können gefährliche Splitter entstehen. Abgesplittertes Material
kann Körper und Augen verletzen. Benutzen Sie einen Augenschutz und einen
Schutzhelm.
WARNUNG
Das Gerät hat seinen Anwendungen entsprechend ein hohes Drehmoment.
Benutzen Sie den Seitenhandgriff und arbeiten Sie mit dem Gerät immer
beidhändig. Der Anwender muss auf ein plötzlich blockierendes Werkzeug
vorbereitet sein.

Montage Diamantbohrkronen
VORSICHT
Das Werkzeug kann durch den Einsatz oder durch Schärfen heiss
werden. Sie können sich die Hände verbrennen. Benutzen Sie für den
Werkzeugwechsel Schutzhandschuhe.
•Stellen Sie sicher, dass die Maschine von der Stromversorgung getrennt ist.
•Stecken Sie das Ende des Bohrkerns in die Staubabsaugung (falls
verwendet).
•Stecken Sie das Ende der Staubabsaugung in das Ende des
Werkzeughalters (falls verwendet).
•Bringen Sie 1 ¼ "UNC oder einen Adapter für die ¼" BSP-Trockenkerne
direkt an der Maschine an.
Demontage des Systems / der Bohrkrone
Benutzen Sie Schutzhandschuhe für den Werkzeugwechsel, da das
Werkzeug durch den Einsatz heiss wird.
VORSICHT
Die Bohrkrone ist mit Staub und Bohrmaterial gefüllt. Stellen Sie sicher, dass Sie
einen festen Stand haben für das zusätzliche Gewicht des Bohrmaterials.
•Lassen Sie den Ein- / Ausschalter am Elektrowerkzeug los und ziehen Sie die
Bohrkrone langsam aus dem Bohrloch.
•Schalten Sie den Staubsauger aus, wenn Sie einen benutzt haben.
•Stellen Sie sicher, dass das Gerät nicht mehr mit dem Stromnetz verbunden
ist.
•Entfernen Sie, soweit notwendig, den Bohrkern.
•Entfernen Sie die Bohrkrone.
Arbeitsschritte beim Verklemmen der Bohrkrone
Im Falle einer Verklemmung der Bohrkrone löst die Rutschkupplung aus, bis der
Anwender das Gerät ausschaltet. Die Bohrkrone kann durch die folgenden
