Key Operating Instr ctions

3. Check the motor fluid levels as per the ma ufacturers ma ual before use
4. Always mai tai a firm grip o the ha dle bars whe starti g the motor a d whilst the
motor is ru i g.
5. Check the operatio of the ce trifugal cut-out switch o the ha dle bar stem. This ca
be do e by starti g the motor at idle speed – whe the switch lever is moved back
towards the operator the motor should cut out. The switch lever actio must be light
(i.e. o resista ce whe movi g)
6. Mai tai the V-belt guard i its origi al co ditio . Keep ha ds a d feet away from a y
movi g parts of the machi e. Avoid operati g the machi e ear bysta ders. It is
recomme ded that the operator wears safety shoes.
7. Whe starti g the motor set the throttle to a mi imum speed co ditio . Whe the
operator is i a positio of full co trol the speed of the motor may be i creased so
that the ce trifugal clutch will e gage a d the blade assembly will rotate.
8. Take care that the blades do ot strike a y object. The resulti g jarri g could be
da gerous a d damage the machi e.
9. Mai tai a firm footi g. To cause the machi e to move to the right apply light
dow ward pressure o the ha dle bar a d upward pressure to move to the left.
Maintenance Instr ctions
1. Follow motor ma ufacturers i structio for servici g the motor
2. Keep a co sta t check to e sure that the oil is up to the level of the filler plug of the
gearbox. Use 220 grade gear oil.
3. O the models that have grease ipples lubricate as required. Lubricate the thrust
beari g before each days use. Grease the blade arms weekly or whe replaci g blades
whichever comes first.
4. Periodically remove the tilti g mecha ism co trol ha dle from its housi g a d liberally
coat the thread a d trust beari g with grease.
