OPERATION
READBEFOREUSING
Caution:Thefollowingmustbeobservedtopreventmalfunctioningand/orpossibleequipmentdamage.
1.BeforepluggingtheunitintothemainACline,makesurethatalloftheequipmentfollowingthehecrossover
outputlinesisturnedofforalloftheinputsareturneddown.
2.TheunitshouldbepluggedinonlywhenithasbeenestablishedthatmainAClineissupplyingthecorrect
voltageandfrequency.
3.Neverchangethefrequencyrangeswitchfromthex10tox1position(orviceversa)withthecrossover
outputlevelspassingsignal.Transientscanresultandspeakerdamageispossible.
TheCX-152,CX-153andCX-154arefourthorderlinkwitz-Rileyelectroniccrossovers.Theseunitscanbe
usedinawidevarietyofoperationmodels,asshownbelow.

Theconstantdirectivityhornequalizationcircuitistobeusedwithhornsthatrequireahighfrequencyboost.
Consultyourhornmanufacturertodeterminewhetheritisneededinyourcircumstance.Theprovidedboostis
+3db@3.5kHzrising6dbperoctaveto22.5kHz.(Seefigure1)Nochangesneedtobemadetooperate
withouttheconstantdirectivityboost.
Iftheconstantdirectivityequalizationcircuitisdesiredonaparticularchannelthendepressthecorresponding
switchlabeled"CDBOOST".
Thereisoneswitchforeachchannedllocatedbythatchannelsinputjack.Iftwoormorechannelsareganged
together,thenonlyusetheswitchclosesttotheusedinputjack.Theswitchesclosesttotheun-usedinputjacks
havenoeffectonthecircuitwhenganged.
ClipLED
ThisLEDwilllightwhenoutputcapabilityisbeingexceededwithclippingdistortion.Occasionalflickeringof
theClipLEDisacceptable,butifitremainsoncontinuouslyyoushouldturndownthelevelcontrolorreduce
theoutputleveloftheprecedingcomponenttoavoidaudibledistortion.

Theshortingconnector"CN4"mustberemovedfromthechannelsbeingsummedandshould,forbestresults,
beinplacewhennosummingisdesired.Shortingconnector"CH4"islocatednearlyinthecenteratthetwo
piecesboard.Youcaneasytofinditwhilethetopplateopened.
