Introduction
This manual is designed to help you to get the most out of your L2 Audio XO223V 2/3 way
crossover. The XO223V can either work in the more common 2 way stereo mode or 3 way mono
mode. A crossover is designed to electronically separate the audio frequencies so that
loudspeakers can efficiently handle the frequency range for which they were designed.
The XO223V is designed and built using the best available components. Main features are.
• 2 way stereo/3 way mono with separate sub out.
• World class performance 24dB per octave Linkwitz-Riley filters.
• Absolutely flat summed amplitude response with zero phase difference.
• Separate sub woofer section with independent frequency control.
• Individual output level controls for all frequency bands.
• Individual phase reverse switches for instant phase correction.
• Switchable 40Hz low filter on each input for LF driver protection.
• Servo balanced XLR connectors for all outputs and inputs.
• Ultra low noise audio operational T1084 amplifiers for outstanding sound performance.
1. Power switch. To turn the unit on and off.
2. Gain input. This controls the input gain .
3. 40 Hz low cut. This switch activates the 40Hz high pass filter. The filter has a side gradient
of 12dB/octave and is designed to protect your LF (low frequency) loudspeaker. When the
feature is activated, the LED will light up.
4. Low/hi Xover freq. This control governs the crossover frequency between high and low
bands.
5. X10. This LED lights up when the frequency control switch is pressed in on the rear panel.
6. Gain low output. This controls the output level of the low band over the range from 0dB to
+6dB.

7. INV low. This switch reverses the polarity of the low output. When pressed the LED will
light.
8. Gain Hi output. This controls the output level of the high band over the range from 0dB to
+6dB.
9. INV high. This switch reverses the polarity of the high output. When pressed the LED will
light.
10. Xover freq sub woofer. This controls the crossover frequency of the sub woofer signal
(10Hz-250Hz).
11. Gain sub woofer. This is used to set the sub woofer output volume.
12. INV sub woofer. This switch reverses the polarity of the sub output. When pressed the
LED will light.
13. Stereo. This LED lights up when the crossover is in stereo mode.
14. Mono. This LED lights up when the crossover is in mono mode.
15. High out. Balanced XLR connectors. These are outputs for the high band of frequencies.
16. Low out. Balanced XLR connectors. These are outputs for the low band of frequencies.
17. Xover freq. These are to switch between the control ranges of the crossover frequency
controls on the front panel. The range is either 45 Hz to 960Hz or x10, at 450Hz to 9.6KHz.
When switch is pressed it is indicated on the front panel LED.
18. Input connectors. Balanced XLR connectors. These are the units 2 inputs when in stereo
mode.
19. Mode switch. This switch must be OUT when in stereo mode. PLEASE NOTE. NEVER
ACTIVATE THE MODE AND XOVER FREQ SWITCHES WITH THE UNIT SWITCHED ON! The
mode is indicated on the front panel LED’s (13&14)
20. SubW out. This is the sub out for the mono sub woofer signal. This signal is constant in
mono or stereo modes and provides an additional means of providing 2 and 3 way
operation.
21. Mains Inlet.
22. Fuse holder. This is where the mains fuse is housed. If blown, please replace with one of
the same value. If the mains fuse keeps blowing, please refer this appliance to a qualified
personnel.

23. Input control. This controls the input gain from –12dB to +12dB. In this mono mode, this
is the units only input gain control.
24. Low/Mid xover freq. This control governs the crossover frequency between low and
middle bands.
25. Mid/High xover freq. This control governs the crossover frequency between middle and
high bands.
26. Mid output. This controls the output level of the mid band from 0dB to +6dB.
27. Mid phase invert. This switch reverses the polarity of the mid output. When pressed the
LED will light.
28. High output control. This controls the output level of the high band over the range from
0dB to +6dB.
29. Input connector. Balanced XLR input. This is the units only input when in this mode.
30. Xover freq switch. This is used to switch between the control range of LOW/MID XOVER
FREQ on the front panel The range is either 45Hz-960Hz or 450Hz to 9.6KHz.
31. Xover freq switch. This is used to switch between the control range of MID/HIGH XOVER
FREQ on the front panel The range is either 45Hz-960Hz or 450Hz to 9.6KHz..
32. Low output connector. Balanced XLR for the low output signal.
33. Mid output connector. Balanced XLR for the mid range output signal.
34. High output connector. Balanced XLR for the high output signal.
35. Mode switch. This switch must be IN when in mono mode. PLEASE NOTE. NEVER ACTIVATE
THE MODE AND CROSSOVER SWITCHES WITH THE UNIT SWITCHED ON.
