Thank you for choosing the MEDER SmartGuide 2
Long press the power button to switch on the
device.
The device comes preinstalled with some Apps
which makes your own App development easier.
Demo Apps
For showing the Basic Functionality of the
SmartGuide 2 there are demo applications
available.
Multimedia content with the MEDER CMS
You can install the demo app with the SGManager
App Store. Just open the SGManager app and
select the App Store.
The demo app is named “MEDER Museum”. To
install just select it and press install.
This App makes use of the MEDER CMS which is
also available for our customers.

MEDER Radio RTX
You can test the MEDER Radio RTX functionality
with the demo apps “Radio RTX Guide”and “Radio
RTX Receiver”.
You can also install this demo apps with the
SGManager App Store. Just open the SGManager
app and select the App Store.
You can install one of the apps by selecting it and
pressing install.

SGManager
The SGManager App is preinstalled on every
SmartGuide 2 device. It provides the possibility to
test the MEDER Radio RX/TX functionality as well
as the IR RX/TX.
It also is responsible for the deployment of the
device and it lets you manually install and update
custom Apps.

MEDER Radio RTX
The MEDER Radio RTX integrates the proven
MEDER radio technology inside the SmartGuide 2.
The MEDER Radio RTX technology can be used to
transmit and receive voice as well as transmit and
receive arbitrary commands which can be used to
control the behavior of other SmartGuide 2 devices.

Infrared
The SmartGuide 2 has integrated Infrared at top
and bottom. IR RX and TX functionality can be
integrated in your App for sending simple
commands.

Micro SD Card
To extend the storage of the SmartGuide 2 you can
add a Micro SD Card with up to 128GB storage. To
add the Micro SD Card you need to remove the
back plate of the device. This should be done be
qualified personal only.
Charging and bottom LED
The device can be charging using the integrated
USB Type C connector or with the MEDER
SmartGuide 2 Charger which connects to the
backside Pogo Pins.
When charged the bottom LED is flashing in green.
When the device is fully charged the LED is
permanently green.

Caution: When a device is charged with a fully
empty battery the LED stays off until the device is
charged to 10% battery capacity.

Disposal and recycling
Your MEDER devices were made of high
quality materials and components that are
recyclable.
Electrical and electronic equipment must be
disposed of at the end of their lifespan separately
from household waste.
Please dispose of this equipment at your local
waste collection or recycling center or simply return
it to MEDER CommTech GmbH.
Please help to protect our environment.

AN INCORRECT TYPE: DISPOSE OF USED
BATTERIES ACCORDING TO INSTRUCTIONS.
To prevent possible hearing damage, do
not listen at high volume levels for long
