Insert the AC plug (with the 2 blades) into a conveniently located AC outlet having

• When shipping the player, always use the original
shipping carton and packing materials. For maximum
protection,repacktheunitasitwasoriginallypacked
atthefactory.

contactwiththeplayerforalongtime.Theywillleave
marksonthefinish.
• The top and rear panels of the player may become
warmafteralongperiodofuse.Thisisnormalandnot
a malfunction.
• Whentheplayerisnotinuse,besuretoremovethe

• Ifyoudonotusetheplayerforalongperiod,theunit
maynotfunctionproperlyinthefuture.Turnonanduse

LOCATINGTHEPLAYER:
WhenyouplacethisplayernearaTV,radioorVCR,the
playbackpicturemaybecomepoorandthesoundmaybe
distorted.Inthiscase,movetheplayerawayfromtheTV,
radioorVCR.
NOTESONCLEANING:
Useasoft,dryclothforcleaning.
• Forstubborndirt,soaktheclothinaweakdetergent
solution,wringwellandwipe.Useadryclothtowipeit
dry.Donotuseanytypeofsolvent,suchasthinneror

• Ifyouuseachemical-saturatedclothtocleantheunit,
followthatproduct’sinstructions.

NOTESONMOISTURECONDENSATION:
Moisturecondensationdamagestheplayer.Pleaseread
thefollowingcarefully.
• Moisturecondensationoccurs,forexample,whenyou
pouracold drink into a glass on a warm day. Drops
ofwaterformontheoutsideoftheglass.Inthesame
way, moisture may condense on the optical pick-up
lens inside this unit, one of the most crucial internal
partsoftheplayer.
Moisturecondensationoccursduringthefollowingcases:
• Whenyoubringtheplayerdirectlyfromacoldplaceto
a warm place.
• When you use the player in a room where you just
turnedontheheater, ora placewherethecoldwind
fromtheairconditionerdirectlyhitstheunit.
• In summer, when you use the player in a hot and
humidplacejustafteryoumovedtheunitfromanair
conditionedroom.
• Whenyouusetheplayerinahumidplace.
Donotuse the player when moisturecondensationmay
occur.
• Ifyouusetheplayerinsuchasituation,itmaydamage
discsandinternalparts.Removethedisc,connectthe
powercordoftheplayertothewalloutlet,turnonthe
playerand leave it“ON”for two orthreehours.After
two or three hours, the player will have warmed up
and evaporated any moisture. Keep the player
connectedtothewalloutletandmoisturecondensation
willseldomoccur.
TOOBTAINACLEARPICTURE:
The player is a high technology, precision device. If
the optical pick-up lens and disc drive parts are dirty or
worn down, the picture quality becomes poor. To obtain
a clear picture, we recommend regular inspection and
maintenance(cleaningorpartsreplacement)every1,000
hoursofusedependingontheoperatingenvironment.For
details,contactyournearestdealer.

thecapacityofDVD.Asaresult,Blu-rayDiscssupportthehighestqualityHDvideoavailableintheindustry
(upto1920x1080at40Mbit/sec).Largecapacitymeansnocompromiseonvideoquality.Furthermore,a
Blu-rayDischasthesamefamiliarsizeandlookasDVD,allowingforcompatibilitywithexistingdiscs.
• Compatibility
Userscanplayhome-recordeddiscs(exceptBDAVdiscs)onthisBlu-rayDiscPlayer;therearenoplayback
compatibilityissuesaswithrewritableDVDformats.TheVideoDistributionformatwaswidelyexpandedto
offercontentproducersafullrangeofadditionalfeaturesunavailableinthehomerecordingformat.

The BD-ROM format for movie distribution supports three highly advanced video codecs, including AVC,
VC-1andMPEG-2.Allconsumervideoresolutionsareavailable:

TheBD-ROMformatformoviedistributionsupportsvariousadvancedaudiocodecssoanauthorcanchoose
the most suitable for a particular application. The high capacity and data rate of Blu-ray Discs allows for

mayrequireusingtheplayerʼsHDMIOUTtoviewhigh-definitioncontent.Theabilitytoviewhigh-definition

“BD-J”modewasdesignedtoofferthecontentprovideralmostunlimitedfunctionalitywhencreatinginteractive
titles. It is based on Java 2 Micro Edition, so programmers will quickly be familiar with the programming
