8.2. Altimeter Mode – Lock Altitude
Function
The altitude of the used is calcualted from
the barometric pressure information
provided by the built in sensor.
There are two possible reasons for a
change in the barometric pressure:
• Change in the waether conditions
• Change of the altitude
In order to avoid changes in the altitude
reading caused by the change of the
weather conditions we recommend to
lock the altitude to the actual reading
when not changing the altitude, i.e. over
night.
To do so simply press [O/O} in the
Altimeter Mode. The center line will then
show -- -- -- indicating that changes in the
altitude can not be made now.
To continue the altitude measurement
press [O/O] again in the altimeter mode.
The altitude is displayed again and
changes can be recorded.
8.3. Altimeter Mode – Features
•
The reduced barometric trend graph is
divided into two segments, 24h and 2h.

9.3. Barometer Mode – Reduced
Barometric Trend Function
In order to eliminate the influence of an
altitude change to your weather forecast
the barometric trend and the difference
functions display the reduced barometric
pressure. The reduced barometric
pressue is equivalent to the barometric
pressure at sealevel under the current
weather conditions. This allows to make
good weather forecasts even while
moving in the mountains.
An increasing /or decreasing \icon
indicates that the reduced barometric
pressure has reduced by more than
2mbar in the observed period of time. A
sraight icon – indicates that the reduced
barometric pressure changes less than
2mbar in the observed period.

The examples above show the following:
A: in the last 24 hours the reduced
barometric pressure has reduced
more than 4mbar => bad weather
ahead.
In the last hour the reduced
barometric pressure was relatively
stable => it is not likely to be
surprised by worsensing weather
conditions.
B: in the last 12 hours the reduced
barometric pressure was stable.
Before that we saw a rise in the
reduced barometric pressure of over
2mbar => slightly better weather
conditions than yesterday.
In the last hour the reduced
barometric pressure increased more
than 2mbar => weather is likely to
improve even more.
For an more accurate weather forecast
you also have to monitor the temperature
changes, the humidity and other factors.
Don’t rely to much on your own forecast,
especially when moving in not well known
terrain since local effects might have a
huge influence.
10. Temperature Mode – Display
• Temperature mode records and
displays critical information about
changing temperature conditions
• To view temperature mode, press the
[M] button until the mode indicator
