To Maintain Optimum Performance
Do not use the unit in places which are extremely hot, cold, dusty or humid. Do not use
or keep the unit in following places.
•In a high humidity area such as a bathroom or near a heater.
•In an area exposed to direct sunlight (where it can become extremely hot).
•Near sources of strong magnetism, such as televisions, speakers, or magnets.
•Where there is a lot of movement, vibration or an unstable shelf.
For Safety
•Do not attempt to disassemble this unit.
•Make sure that pins or other foreign objects do not get inside the unit.
•Take care not to drop the unit or subject it to strong shocks.
•Inside a car which become extremely hot and softer shocks & vibrations.
Children
•Children do not understand the dangers associated with operating electronic products.
Never allow children to use this product.
Note on listening with the earphones
•Listen at moderate volumes to avoid hearing damage.
•Do not wear the earphones while driving or cycling. It may create a traffic hazard.
•You should use extreme caution or temporarily discontinue use in potentially hazardous
situations, such as walking, jogging, etc.
•If you hear no sound when playing, DO NOT turn the volume up high because the
music could suddenly begin at high volume. To avoid hurting your ears or damaging
the speakers, turn the volume control to the lowest level before starting playback and
slowly turn it up to the desired level.
Mains Lead
•If this unit has a mains lead or is connected with a mains adaptor do not allow the lead
to become strained or damaged as it creates a hazard.

Note on batteries:
• Do not mix different types of
batteries or an old battery with a
new one.
• To prevent the risk of leakage or
explosions, never recharge
batteries, apply heat or take them
apart.
• When not using the unit for
prolonged periods remove the
batteries to prevent battery drain
or leakage.
• If liquid leaks from the batteries,
throw them away. Thoroughly clean
the battery compartment with a dry
cloth.

USING WITH AC/DC ADAPTORUSING WITH BATTERIES
Using with a Battery
1. Open the battery compartment.
See fig. 1.
2. Insert two new 1.5V AA alkaline
batteries with the and
terminals correctly aligned.
See fig. 2.
3. Carefully slide the battery door
closed.
See fig. 3.
1. Plug in a DC 3V Adaptor (not
included) into the power supply
and insert the jack into the DC
IN A socket.

CAUTION:
• If you do not remove the excess
slack, the tape might become
tangled in the record/playback
mechanism.

OPERATION OPERATION
4. Press the Play Button C and
adjust the Volume Control E for
the desired listening level. Stop
the tape by pressing the Stop
Button B.
See fig. 8 and 9.
1. Load the cassette tape.
NOTE: To protect your hearing, set
Volume Control E to its lowest
setting before you begin playing
a cassette tape.

3. Put on your Headphones L and
plug into the Earphone Jack F.

2. Set switch I to TAPE.

Automatic Stop
- Please note when the tape comes
to the end during play the tape will
stop automatically.
1. Take up any slack in the tape by
turning one of the cassette's hubs
with a pencil.
See fig. 5.
2. Open the Cassette Door G.

3. Load the cassette with its open
edge up, the side you want to play
facing out and its full reel to the
left.

4. Close the Cassette Door G.

Bass
1. Push the Bass Button H to turn
on and off the Bass Function.

4. Adjust the sound level using the
Volume Control E.

2. Set switch I to RADIO. Then set
switch K to AM or FM.
