Ground Fixing:
The in-ground sleeve and the base plate need to be installed as detailed in the installation
instructions enclosed with the goods. The installation must be carried out by a qualified
engineer in accordance with local regulations.

Do not leave the parasol leaning unsecured against a wall. It could fall and cause damage
or injury to people or property.
› The umbrella must not be modified or equipped with components other than those
recommended. The stability and the functionality of the umbrella could suffer and the
warranty expire.
Only use the umbrella after you ensured that the umbrella is in perfect technical condition
at all times. Check regularly for possible defects. Ensure that any defects are rectified by
a qualified engineer using original components.
› Prior to opening and closing the umbrella, ensure that any obstructions are removed.
Close the umbrella prior to gales, thunderstorms, heavy snowfall, strong rain, or hailstones.
› Keep children away from the opening and closing mechanism.
Avoid any open flame near the umbrella.

Installing the Umbrella:
Please be aware that the type FX has a side mast. Carefully select the precise
location in which you intend to install the in-ground sleeve, mobile base or base plate for
the . Ensure that the erected will have at least 20 cm clearance in every
direction with regard to buildings, trees, fences, or any other objects.
If you are intending to use an in-ground sleeve with hinge, ensure that the hinge opens in
the correct direction, i.e. towards an open space, so that the closed can be easily
inserted.
The mobile base needs to be weighted with the layers and size of slabs mentioned in the
instruction for this kind of fixing. It is absolutely necessary to comply with these
requirements, otherwise the stability of the is reduced and may harm people or
property. The warranty expires!
Moderate height compensation between several is possible through the use of
extended upper sleeves and appropriate distance pieces.
The safe fixing of the can be guaranteed with one of three ground fixings shown
below. Due to special construction of the Type FX we strongly recommend using
the in-ground sleeve or base plate as safest ground fixing.

Installation of the Umbrella with Sleeve/Base Plate or Mobile Base
with Hinge:

›Loosen both fixing- and clamping screw on the upper sleeve just enough so that the mast
can easily slide in.
›Remove the sleeve screw that fixes the in-ground and upper sleeve together and flip the
upper sleeve around by 90°. Place the upper sleeve on a soft bedding.
›Carefully insert the umbrella mast horizontally into the upper sleeve as far as possible.
›Fasten both fixing and clamping screw hand-tight.

›Bring the umbrella to an upright position.
›Fix the upper sleeve to the in-ground sleeve with the sleeve screws. While doing so, the
umbrella needs to be secured by a second person.
›Remove the protective cover
›Mount the top plate with the suitable top plate screw (which is already mounted on the
top of the telescope) to the top of the umbrella.
The umbrella must never lie on the top plate when uninstalled.

›Align the umbrella with a spirit level or with
vertical lines of the surroundings (e.g.
buildings, lamp posts, etc.).
Turn the umbrella within the upper sleeve
till you have reached the desired position
(the fixing and clamping screw need to be
loose to do so).
›Once aligned, the fixing and clamping screw
must be tightened.
›Drill force: M10x16 light (approx. 10 Nm)
and M10x30 strong (approx. 40 Nm).

›Remove the securing strap.
›Open the umbrella using either the crank handle supplied or a portable electric drill and
Allen key bit. Ensure that you open the umbrella far enough for all segments of the
membrane to come under tension, while keeping an eye on the stop screw at the top
of the telescope to avoid over-tensioning. In case you are using a portable electric drill,
do NOT use the “Drill” position. Use the torque limiter of the drill to prevent damage.
›Once the stop screw approaches the tip of the mast when opening the umbrella and on
the final three to four turns when closing it, proceed winding by hand using the crank
handle provided with the umbrella.

In windy and especially in gusty conditions, the
umbrella needs to be closed!
Unsupervised umbrellas must not be opened!
To avoid the formation of mould, the umbrella needs
to be completely dry before the securing strap and
the protective cover are fitted!
Closing the umbrella:
When closing the keep an eye on the shear mechanism to avoid damage to
the fabric! It must be ensured that the fabric does not come between the scissor
mechanism and get stuck. Once the membrane fabric approaches the scissor mechanism,
stop the closing process and pull the fabric out again, now you can continue the closing
process until the is completely closed.
Fully close the as described above with the crank handle provided or with an
electric portable drill, using an Allen key bit.
Pull out the membrane fabric from between the arms of the closed , and wrap
them around the . Then use the elastic strap to secure the membrane against
fluttering.
If the is not to be used for some time, we recommend using a protective cover
(if available). Please ensure that the membrane is absolutely dry before fitting the
protective cover so as to avoid the formation of mould.
For storage during winter, we recommend a dry place. If the is to be left
installed when not used, a protective cover must be used so the stays dry.
