3. Preparing/ins alling he device
3.1. Open he device o inser a sim card
Insert a f at screwdriver into the inner battery switch ho e and pry it to remove the back
cover. Afterwards pu on the PCB to re ease it.

3.3. Choose he appropria e loca ion for moun ing
The idea ocation for mounting the device is under the dashboard. However, some types of
coated windshie ds, as we as windshie ds with an in-screen heating system can b ock GPS
signa s. Externa antenna shou d never be covered by any kind of object or materia ,
especia y not by meta or a uminium. Transmission and reception of GPS signa is however
not hindered by p astic or norma g ass. Moreover, put at east 20 cm between the antenna
and a speaker.

Power supp y may be derived direct y from the vehic e’s main power or from the board
insta ation. In the first case, it is an abso ute must that a fuse on the main cab e is present.
Ignition wire must a ways be connected to the vehic e’s ignition OR tied with the
permanent positive to the vehic e’s battery.
Ground must be a ways connected first. It is mandatory to add a fuse (2A) to the
permanent positive. The c oser to the connection point with vehic e power.

3.5. Plug he device o he ex ernal ba ery
The device must have a direct connection with the main power (externa battery). Mobi e
Devices advise against the use of intermediate system.
1. Check that inputs 2 and 3 are free (not connected).
2. P ug the device (b ack wire) to the ground of the externa battery.
3. P ug the device (red wire) to the permanent positive of the externa battery.
4. P ug the device (white wire) to the ignition (after contact).
In some case, the use of a circuit breaker can et the ignition (after contact) active. Thus, the
device wi be ON indefinite y. So, it’s important to find a signa where the ignition can be
ON or OFF.
Moreover, it is imperative to insu ate the GPS antenna in order to avoid it get in touch with
the car’s chassis.
The device should be always plugged o :
•The ground of the externa battery.
•A ground point defined by the vehic e manufacturer.
A circui breaker should never be enabled as long as:
•Ignition is active.
•Ignition goes OFF since ess than 2 minutes. This is the time for the device
to do a proper shutdown.
It is mandatory to add a fuse (2A) to the permanent positive. The c oser to the
connection point with vehic e power.
4. Inpu s ac iva ion hreshold
Here are inputs activation thresho ds (vo tage).
•Input2 (negative) is active from approx. 0 to 2V (disab ed if >2V)
•Input3 (negative) is active from approx. 0 to 2V (disab ed if >2V)
No e: Range vo tage on inputs is 0-30V
