Features
• Compatible with most MP3 players,
computers, mobile phones and tablets.
• Pairs and plays in seconds using a
Bluetooth wireless connection. Up to 33'
range offers flexible use.
• Built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery
providing up to 5 hours of battery life.
• Battery level monitor that shows the
battery level on your Apple/iOS devices.
(Currently this feature is not available on
Android devices.)
• Lightweight design offering easy
portability.
• 3.5 mm line input providing a simple
input connection.
Function
Multi‐function ( )
• In power on state, press and hold the button for more than two seconds to enter into pairing mode. The LED alternates blinking red and white.
• When the phone rings, quickly press the multi-function ( ) button to answer the phone call.
• To end a call, press the multi-function ( ) button twice.
NOTE: For Android users: make sure that the “Phone Audio” function is active in the Bluetooth settings. For more information refer to the online User Guide.
Plug an external audio device into this jack. The default source for this speaker is Bluetooth. If a cable is inserted into this AUX IN jack, the
source is automatically switched to AUX IN. Unplug the cable and the source automatically switches back to Bluetooth.
Power
• Slide the switch to the right to power on the speaker – LED ON (red/white LED blinking to enter auto pairing mode)
• Slide the switch to the left to turn the speaker off – LED OFF
• When power is on, the unit automatically connects to the last paired Bluetooth device within six seconds. If the last paired Bluetooth
device is not in range, the unit automatically searches for another device to pair to.
• Press to increase the volume.
• Press to decrease the volume.
Connect the USB charging cable to charge the battery.
Auto Mute/End Phone Call
Music Mode
• Turn the speaker face-down to mute the audio. Turn the speaker face-up to unmute audio.
Phone Call Mode
• Shake the speaker to answer an incoming phone call.
• During a phone call, turn the speaker face-down to end the call.
LED Status Information
Power
• LED is white when speaker is turned on. LED is off when speaker is turned off.
Charging
• When speaker is off, LED is red while charging. After charging is complete, red LED turns off.
• When speaker is on, LED is solid red while charging. After charging is complete, red LED turns off and white LED is on.
Other
• No Bluetooth connection, white LED flashes slowly.
• Bluetooth is in pairing mode, white and red LED alternate blinking.
• Successful Bluetooth connection, solid white LED.
• White LED blinks quickly when increasing/decreasing the volume. When the minimum/maximum volume is met, LED is solid white.
• LED quickly blinks red when battery is low. Speaker remains on for approximately 10 more minutes.

Charging the speaker
When the battery is low, the red LED blinks
quickly.
• To charge, connect the charging cable
to your Bluetooth speaker and an
available USB port on your computer.
The red LED turns off when finished.
Turning on and off
• Slide the power ( ) switch to turn your
speaker on or off.
Bluetooth pairing
Note: The Bluetooth range is 33 feet (10 meters).
1Press and hold the multi-function ( )
button until the white and red LED
indicators blink.
2Enter pairing mode on your Bluetooth
device, then select Modal MD-SPBT01
from the list to pair.
Note: For more information on entering
pairing mode, see the instructions that came
with your Bluetooth device.
3To unpair, turn off Bluetooth on your

Connecting AUX devices
• To listen to audio from a non-Bluetooth
device, connect a 3.5 mm audio from
your speaker to your audio device.
Controlling volume and playback
• Use your audio device to play, pause,
and select tracks.
• Press + or – to increase/decrease the
volume.
Note: Make sure that the volume level on
your Bluetooth device is at least 50%.
• Turn your speaker face down to mute.
Using the speakerphone
When paired to your phone:
• To answer a call, press the multi-function
( ) button once or shake the speaker to
answer the phone.
• Press + or – to increase/decrease the
speakerphone volume.
• Turn your speaker face down to end a call.
• Press the multi-function ( ) button twice
to end the phone call.
