This appliance is equipped with a 3-prong grounding plug. This is a safety
feature to reduce the risk of electrical shock. Using an extension cord is not
recommended with this appliance. It is recommended that an electrical outlet
serving ONLY this appliance be used. This outlet must be properly installed and
grounded. If you have any questions about the grounding or electrical

Parts & Features (cont.) Installation (cont.)
• Tools needed: pliers, Phillips-head screwdriver and level.
• Water pressure of 14 to 70psi is required. Water pressure less than 14psi may
cause water valve failure, or may not allow the water valve to shut o
completely, or may extend the fill time beyond what the washer controls allow,
causing the washer to turn o.
• The water faucet must be within 48" of the back of your washer to match the
hoses provided with your washer. Have water faucets easily accessible.
• Two people may be needed to install and move the appliance.
5. Use the quick connection adaptor if connecting to a single faucet. Skip this step
if you are connecting the washer to a sink with separate hot and cold faucets.
When connected to a single faucet that can dispense either hot or cold water,
both hot and cold water can be run through the cold water line for washing use.
However, it is recommended to only run cold water washes when the adaptor is
connected to such a faucet.
6. Pull back on the white ring to separate the faucet fitting from the quick
connection adaptor for installation to the faucet. If the faucet has internal screw
threads, unscrew the aerator from the tip of the faucet. Screw the faucet fitting
into the faucet. Make sure that the black rubber gasket is on the top of the
adaptor before screwing it in. If the faucet has external screw threads, remove
the gasket from the top of the faucet fitting, and screw the fitting over the
external threads. Screw the end of the cold water hose to the quick connector.
Pull back on the white ring to connect the two parts of the adaptor back
together.
7. Connect the ends of the water supply hoses to the hot and cold faucets. Use the
quick connection adaptor for the cold water faucet.
8. Tighten the fittings by hand until they are snug, and then tighten them an
additional ⅔ of a turn with a wrench. DO NOT fasten fittings too tightly. DO NOT
apply tape or sealant. Ensure fittings are connected securely by pulling down on
the hoses.
9. Place the free ends of the hoses into a bucket and open the faucets for 10 or 15
seconds to ensure the hoses are clear. Close the faucets before continuing.
10. Connect the ends of the water supply hoses to the water supply intake
connections on the back of the washer. The water supply hose connected to
the hot faucet must be connected to the hot water supply intake and the water
hose connected to the cold faucet must be connected to the cold water supply
intake.
11. Tighten the fittings by hand until they are snug, and then tighten them an
additional ⅔ of a turn with a wrench. If hoses are twisted or bent, they can leak
and cause electrical shock. An error code will occur if hoses are not connected
correctly. If you do not want to use the hot water supply hose, install the water
intake cap to that intake hole. In this case, you must select cold water as the
wash temperature choice.
12. Turn on the water supply and check all the connections and the faucets for
water leaks.

cushion MUST be removed before operating the washer.
3. Slide the bottom cover into the slots on the base of the washer and attach it with

How to UseInstallation (cont.)
WARNING: Under certain conditions, hydrogen gas may be produced in a
hot water system that has not been used for 2 weeks or more. HYDROGEN
GAS IS EXPLOSIVE. If the hot water system has not been used for such a pe-
riod, before using the washing machine, turn on all hot water faucets and let
the water flow for several minutes. This will release any accumulated hydro-
gen gas. As the gas is flammable, do not smoke or use an open flame during
this time.
13. Connect the drain hose. Position the free end of the drain hose in 1 of 3 ways:
A. Over the edge of a sink. Secure the guide to the edge of the sink with
a hook or to the tap with a piece of string.
B. In a standpipe length between 32–39".
C. In a laundry tub with a height of 32–39".
Note: Make sure that the connection between the drain hose and the sink,
standpipe or laundry tub is NOT airtight.

during the spin cycle. If the washer rocks and vibrates excessively, level
the washer again.
1. Press PROCEDURE to select cycle steps. The related light will be on indicating
that the step is selected. For normal wash, all soak, wash, rinse and spin lights
are on.
2. The digital display will show and count down the estimated minutes for the
wash cycle selected.
3. Press DELAY to delay washing start time up to 24 hours. If delay start is set,

WASHING A LOAD OF LAUNDRY
1. Press ON/OFF to power your washer on.
2. Sort laundry by fabric type, soil level, color and load size as needed. Load the
washer (remove coins, keys and other objects, and close all zippers first). DO
NOT OVERLOAD THE TUB; MAX LOAD IS NO MORE THAN ¾ FULL.
OVERLOADING MAY REDUCE WASHING EFFICIENCY, CAUSE EXCESS WEAR,
AND POSSIBLY CAUSE CREASING OR WRINKLING OF ITEMS IN THE LOAD.
3. Use high efficiency (HE) powder detergent only. Pull the compartment out
and add the recommended amount of detergent directly into the detergent
compartment. The normal amount of detergent to use is ¼ to ½ of the
maximum amount recommended by the detergent manufacturer, if the load is
small or lightly soiled, or if your water is very soft. Never use more than the
maximum recommended by the detergent manufacturer.
4. Press PROCEDURE to select your desired cycles.
5. Press LOAD SIZE to select the water level. Large is the default size.
6. Press TEMP to select your desired water temperature for washing action. For
some cycles, options in this function will be limited accordingly to PROCEDURE
selections. The temperature setting is for washing action only. Rinsing action is
cold water for all cycles.
7. If you wish to delay the washing start time, press DELAY. The display
will change from minutes to hours. Each further press of DELAY will add 1 hour
to the display up to 24 hours. One more press will cancel the delay function.
8. Press PROGRAM to select normal, heavy or delicate.
9. Press EXTRA RINSE to add 1 rinse to the selected cycles, if desired.
10. Press START/PAUSE to start the washing cycle. When the washing cycle
begins, the time in minutes for the cycle to complete will count down on the
display. If DELAY is set, the display will count down the hours until the cycle
begins, and then change to a minute countdown for the cycle.
Note: To add a forgotten item, press START/PAUSE to pause the washer. Wait
for the tub to stop turning, then open the lid. Add the item, close the lid, and then
press START/PAUSE to resume the cycle.
11. When washing is finished, the washer will turn o automatically. Turn o
water faucets.

• This washing machine is not designed to handle heavy items such as
comforters or down coats.
• To operate, water in the washer must be as high as the marked water level.
• A time limit is built into the controls to prevent flooding in your home if a
hose becomes loose.
• Periodically check there is no leakage from the water inlet hose fittings.
