ROAD SAFETY
●Obey all traffic signs and regulations..
●Adjust your speed to the road conditions.
●Check the technical condition of your vehicle regularly.
●Wear weather-appropriate moped clothing that gives you good visibility on
the road
●Learning to drive should take place in facilities that allow you to obtain a
Driving Licence; mastering the technique and method of driving is the basis
of preparation for using a vehicle on the road.
●Most injuries in motorcycle accidents are head injuries, so be sure to drive
with an approved safety helmet.
●Avoid sudden braking and turning. This can cause you to slip and fall.
●Be careful especially in rain. The road surface is different in rain than in
sunny weather, which increases the vehicle's braking distance. In this case,
reduce your speed and brake in good time before the obstacle
●When driving with the lift, the accelerator knob should be set to the initial
position and a low speed should be maintained by intermittent braking.

OPERATION AND FUNCTION OF VEHICLE COMPONENTS
1. Ignition
Turning the key turns the ignition on and off.
Warning: do not use the key while driving!
Advice: when the engine is not running, turn the key to the OFF position - this
prevents depletion or damage to the battery.
Operating principle:
●Turning the key to the ON position starts the engine and automatically activates the
low beam headlights.
●Turning the key to the OFF position turns off the engine, turns off the low beam. The
key can now be removed from the ignition.
Steering wheel lock
Always lock the steering wheel when parking your moped for safety.
●Turn the steering wheel to the left
●Press in the key and turn it from OFF to LOCK position
●Pull out the key
Unlocking the steering wheel

●Turn the key from LOCK to OFF position
2. Switch assembly on the left side of the steering wheel
Direction indicator switch
The switch is used to turn on the directional lights when turning left or right.
●To turn on the left turn signal, push the switch to the left
●To turn on the right turn signal, push the switch to the right.
Headlight switch
The switch is used to change the low beam to the high beam. When the high beam is
on, the blue indicator light comes on.

3. Switch assembly on the right side of the steering wheel
Electric starter button
To start the engine, press the brake lever and press the starter button - the engine
will start.
Advice: be careful not to run the starter for too long - this can damage the battery

4. Tachometer
5. Indicator lamp
6. Speedometer indicator
7. Odometer
8. Fuel level indicator

5. Brakes
Right lever
–front brake
Left lever –rear brake
The pull path of the brake is 10-20 mm. The vehicle usually has a front brake and a
rear drum brake. Adjustment can be made by turning the brake cable adjustment
screw clockwise.
Caution: Stretch distance means the distance between the position when the vehicle
is travelling at normal speed and begins to brake and the moment when the vehicle
stops. Pay attention to the sensitivity of the vehicle.
Before you start driving, check:
●that there are no leaks
●that there are no leaks or scratches on the discharge pipe
●rubbing of the brake pads

●abrasion of the brake pads or the distance between the normal position of the front
brake and the handlebar grip is 10-20 mm
6. Brake fluid
The vehicle was filled with special brake fluid from the factory. The scooter user
should fill or replace the fluid with the recommended fluid (DOT4). Never replace
brake fluid with or mix it with other fluids to avoid damaging the brake system. If the
brake fluid is not of good enough quality, air can get into the brake system and cause
damage.
Caution: brake fluid is a highly aggressive agent. This can cause damage and paint
deterioration in certain parts of the vehicle. If fluid is found on any part of the
scooter, it should be cleaned immediately.
Safety precautions: if liquid gets into eyes or on skin, rinse quickly with plenty of
water!
7. Tires
Tire pressure that is too low can cause vehicle instability. Check the pressure and
remember to do regular maintenance. It is suggested to change tires when the tread
depth is less than 2 mm.

Tyre pressure: front -2. 20 bar; rear - 2. 25 bar
Caution: proper tire pressure and overall condition is very important to driving
safety.
8. Fuse
It's connected to the battery. When the light and entire circuit fails, check the fuse
first. The fuse can only be replaced by a new fuse.
9. Battery
Battery for Barton BLADE-R model: 12V 9Ah
Caution:
●when the voltage is less than 11. 5 V, use the foot starter
●set the switch indicator to "OFF" before replacing the battery
●electrode identification: "+" red, "-" green
●change the battery every 4 years
●dispose of the used battery at a battery disposal facility

●To ensure optimal battery performance over a long period of time, it is advisable to
remove the battery and recharge it regularly when it is not in use for more than 14
days
10. Fuel tank and fuel
When the fuel level indicator shows a red area, fill the tank with the recommended
Pb95 fuel. Unleaded fuel prolongs the life of the spark plug and catalytic converter.
No sand shall be present in the fuel.
Use of the fuel tank:
Turn the fuel tank cap clockwise, insert the key and turn clockwise again and pull out
the tank cap. The engine must be switched off when filling the fuel tank.
Caution: check the fuel tank capacity before using the vehicle.
11. Changing and cleaning the air filter
Air filter replacement
●the air filter shall be situated on the left side of the vehicle

●loosen the screws and remove the cover
●remove the air filter cartridge
●clean the cartridge with a cleaning agent or, if this is not possible, replace
the filter with a new one
●Put the air filter back in, make sure it is fitted correctly
CAUTION
Do not bend or twist the air filter element, this could damage it. It must also not be
cleaned with water or the wrong oil. A damaged air filter must be changed. Never
run the engine without the air filter.
Cleaning instructions
●using a detergent (not flammable!) clean the filter, and after drying, soak
the filter in proper oil
●after the filter has been dried and soaked in fresh filter oil, insert the filter
into the housing by fitting it carefully
●If the core is damaged, it must be replaced.

Refer to the periodic inspection table for information on cleaning and replacement
intervals

PRE-TRIP INSPECTION
Always inspect your vehicle for any defects or problems before driving. In the event
of any irregularities, the vehicle should be taken to a Barton Motors Authorized
Service Center for inspection and repair.
Check:
●Steering wheel: check that it functions smoothly and that all parts are present
●Breaks: that they function smoothly and that the brake cable is not seized
●Tires: what is the pressure and whether cracks have appeared
●Fuel tank: that there is sufficient fuel in the tank
●Lights: that all lights are operating efficiently
●Horn: whether it works well
●Gearbox oil: whether the gearbox oil level is sufficient
●Screws and nuts: whether all parts are present

DRIVING TECHNIQUE
Starting the engine
Make sure there is enough fuel and oil in the vehicle before starting the engine.
Starting the engine with an electric starter
●Turn the key to position and check that the low beam and turn signals are
working.
●SCheck that the motorcycle is idling. If it is idling, the engine will start
immediately when the starter is pressed. If the motorcycle is in a gear other
than idle, engaging the starter will not start the engine.
●If the motorcycle is not idling, depress the clutch lever and then engage the
starter..
Advice: The electric starter should not run for more than 5 seconds..
Starting the engine with a foot starter
Place your foot on the foot starter and press down dynamically.
Take your foot off the pedal after starting the engine.
