The ALTER switches allow you to program the circuit like an
analog computer. You’ll find that the switches are interactive
with one another, and some switches will have more or less of
an effect depending on the settings of the other switches.
INPUT: This control allows you to attenuate the signal entering the
circuit. You can also achieve a similar effect by rolling back your
guitar’s volume control. While we suggest starting off with the
knob all the way to the right, you’ll find that with certain ALTER
PROGRAMS rolling back the INPUT control will open up new
worlds of aural decomposition.
NOTE: When the INPUT control is set low the individual effects of
the ALTER switches may seem less pronounced.
ALTER 1: When engaged, this switch increases the amount of low
frequency content that is allowed to be sent from the first stage of
the circuit to the second stage.
ALTER 2 and ALTER 3: When engaged, these switches transform
two different bias points that work in conjunction with one another.
They both affect the gain in the second stage of the circuit.
ALTER 4: When engaged, this switch connects a negative
feedback loop between the input and output of the circuit.
NOTE: Some associate the term “feedback loop” with oscillation.
This switch will not cause oscillation.
ALTER 5: When engaged, this switch changes the bias point at
the base of the transistors in the second stage of the circuit.
OUTPUT: This is the master volume control.
Some switches may make a slight popping sound when
ENGAGED or DISENGAGED. This is normal.

All Mountainking Electronics devices are built with high quality parts and components to help ensure years of reliable
heaviness.
This device can be powered by a 9V battery or a standard 9VDC (center negative) power supply. If you choose to use a
battery to power the pedal remember to unplug the instrument/guitar cable from the input jack when not in use to help
conserve battery life. If you choose to use a power supply, be sure that it is of high quality and is filtered to avoid introducing
hum and noise to your signal chain.
