Assembly & Installation
INSTRUCTIONS
MSL Smart Locker End-user Manual
This document consists of two parts, namely “Assembly” and “Installation.” End-users receive “MSL
Smart Lockers” (locker) in two formats, namely “Assembled” and “Unassembled.” The assembly part
of this document will not be applicable for End-users receiving lockers as “Assembled.”
Assembly:
Following are the individual parts with appropriate numbers, as viewed from the front side of the
lockers, shipped to End-users:
1. Bottom Cover (will have a hole for power cable at the back-left corner)
2. Right Cover (will have hinges at the front to attach the front door)
3. Left Cover (will have channels to cover pre-assembled electronics)
4. Top Cover
5. Back Cover (It can be any one of the following depending on how lockers are used):
A. No Back Cover (used by merchant to pass thru orders)
B. Wall Mount Plate
C. Window Mount Plate (used by consumers to receive in-door deliveries)
D. Back Door (used by consumers with flush mount and by merchants to pass thru orders at
drive-thru)
6. Front Door. (The Front Door can be a swing door or sliding door. The sliding door is used to
pass thru orders at drive thru.
7. Window Connecting Plate
8. Supporting Bracket with Arm

Note:
• The item number 5 which is the back plate depends on the usage of the locker and is not shown in the image.
• The item number 7 which is window connecting plate is required only when the locker is mounted to a window
and is not shown in the image.
• The item number 8 which is the supporting bracket with arm is not shown in the image.
• The required tools are: any tool to tighten the nuts and a screwdriver to adjust the self-closing hinges.
Assembly Instructions
Place the Bottom Cover (1) flat on an even surface where the round holes on all sides in the metal bent
upside will be visible. Also, there will two square holes on the left side and two square holes on the
right side. These square holes will be used to attach the supporting bracket (8) to the bottom of the
locker. Also, there will be a knock-out or a hole at the left back corner. This hole may be used to draw
the electrical plug to connect to an electrical outset.

• Place the Right Cover (2) vertically by inserting
the studs in the Right Cover into the holes
in the right side of the Bottom Cover (1).
Note that there are holes at the top to insert
the studs facing down in the Top Cover (4).
• The Right Cover (2) will have hinges in the
front to mount the Front Door (6).
• Screw in the nuts into the studs without
tightening all the way in.

• Attach vertical chamber.
For lockers with closed
back the key pad with
the 4 keys accessible to
locker owners will be
attached to the vertical
chamber, otherwise it will
be attached to the back
side of the locker.
• Screw in the nuts into the
studs without tightening
all the way in.
• Place the Left Cover (3) vertically
by inserting the studs in the Left
Cover (3) into the holes in the
left side of the Bottom Cover (1).
Note that there are holes at the
top to insert the studs facing
down in the Top Cover (4).
• The Left Cover (3) will have
electronics concealed inside a
horizontal chamber running from
front to back and inside a vertical
chamber running from middle to
bottom at the back.

2: Screw in the nuts into the studs without
tightening all the way in.

Tighten
all the nuts.
1: Place the Top Cover (4) by inserting studs on the right side into the holes on the top of the Right
Cover (2) and by inserting studs on the left side in the holes on the top of the Left Cover (3).
3: Turn around
the locker by
180 degrees
and place the
Top Cover on
the flat surface.

• Turn around the locker
by 90 degrees and
place the Left Cover
on the flat surface.
• Attach the Door (6) to
the Right Cover (2)
using the hinges
attached to the Door
(6) and the hinges
attached to the Right
Cover (2).
• In case of Drive-Thru
Lockers, the Door
would be a sliding
door, otherwise, it
would be a swing
door.
• Adjust the hinges if
needed to ensure that
the Door (6) would
close properly by
itself.
• Please read the
attached manual on
how to adjust the
hinges for self-closing.

Insert the studs in the Back Cover (5) into the
holes in the back side of the locker.
• The Back Cover (5) can be one of the following:
• Wall Mount Plate (5A):
This is a solid plate with studs on all four sides
used when the locker is attached to a wall or
fence or the ground.
• Window Mount Plate (5B):
This plate will have an opening and studs around
the opening to match the holes in the back side
of the locker and also studs around the edge of
the plate. This plate will be used, if the locker is
to be attached to a window. The overall dimension
of the plate will be same as the size of the window
to which the locker will be attached.
• Back Door (5C):
This door will have hinges to mount the door to
the back side. Back Door will be used when the
locker is to be mounted flush with the outside of
a wall, for example in the case of Drive-thru
Lockers and in the case of wall mounted
In-Home Delivery lockers where hole in a wall is
used instead of sliding window.
