Poweryourradio
AC operation
Beforeyou plug theACcordintothe radio,be suretheACvoltage is
correct.Inserttheplugon theend ofthesupplied powercordintothe
ACpowersocketon the back ofthe radio.
DC operation
Foroutdoorsuse,you can powerthe radiobyusing 12VDC input
socketfromaDC powersupply(example,fromthe powersupplyof
vehiclesorboats).AnACpoweradaptorwith1Ampereand center
positiveinpolaritycan alsopowerthe radioinhouse.
Operating yourradio–
initialize radiosetting and clock setting
1.The radiodisplaywill scroll “RDSSetting “when the radiois
connected tothe mainssupplyorDC powersupply.
2.The RDS(RadioDataSystem) setting requiresapproximate
one minutetosearchrequired RDSdatafromradiostations
foreasierdataread out.
3.You can skipthe RDSsetting bypressing and releasing the
powerbutton once(recommended fornon-RDSbroadcasting
area).Displaywill show“——:——“forclock setting.

Clock Setting
1.When radiopowerisoff, longpress SETbutton until display
flashes“AM12:00”or“0:00”depending on the salesareas.
2.Press and releaseHourandMinutebutton orrotarytuning
controlbutton tosetthe required clock time.
3.Press SETbutton againtocompleteclock setting.
Displaystopsflashing.
Note:
when radiopowerison,pressDisplaybutton toclock mode and
followsameproceduresasaboveforclock setting.
4.Sameprocedurescan be done viasupplied remotecontrolunit.
Autoclock set
The RDSequipswithautoclock setfunction,turnonthe radio
and searchforradiostationswithRDStransmitting service,
withinone minutetheclock will showcorrecttimealongwith
RDSsymbolindicating the clock timeisRDStimefromradio
station withRDSservice.
Note:
RDSserviceismainlyavailableinEurope (including UK)and part
ofNorthernAmericaplussomeofAsian countriesonly.
Alarmsetting
Note:
Alarm setting can be done onlywhen timesettingiscompleted.
Alarm can be operated when radioison oroff.
Setting viaremotecontrolisthe same.

Wake tobuzzeralarm
Abeeptonewill soundwhen usingthebuzzeralarm.
The alarm beep will increaseinvolumeevery15 secondsforone
minutefollowedbyone minutesilencebeforerepeatingthecycle.
Thebuzzeralarmwillsoundforonehourunlessturnedoff by
pressingtheOn/Off button.PressingtheOn/Offbuttonwhilstthe
alarm issoundingwillcancelthe alarm for24 hours.
1.When the radioisoff, press and releaseDisplaybutton,
LCDdisplaywill flashalarm icon withabeep and
previousalarm time.
Note:
when the radioison,press and releaseDisplaybutton until
displayflashesalarm status.
2.Duringtheflash,longpress SETbutton untilhourandminute
digitsalsoalarm mode flashinthe display.
3.PressHourandMinutebutton separatelyorrotarytuningcontrol
tosetrequired alarm time.
4.Press and releaseSelectbutton toselectbuzzeralarm,
displaywill flash.
5.Press and releaseSETbutton tocompletealarm timesetting.
Displaywill be back torealtimeafteralarm setting withalarm
buzzericon on the displayindicating buzzeralarm isset.
You can monitorthe alarm timebypressingDisplaybutton.

Wake toradioalarm
When the radioalarm isselected,the radiowillturnonand playthe
selected radiostation.The radioalarm will sound forone hourunless
turnedoffbypressingtheOn/Off button.Pressingtheon/offbutton
whilstthealarm issoundingwill cancelthe alarm for24hours.
1.When radioisoff, press and releaseDisplaybutton will beep and
flashalarm icon and previousalarm time.
Note:
when the radioison,press and releaseDisplaybutton until
displayflashesalarm status.
2.Duringtheflash,longpress SETbutton untilhourandminute
digitsalsoalarm modelflashinthe display.
3.PressHourandMinutebutton separatelyorrotarytuningcontrol
tosetrequired alarm time.
4.Press and releaseSelectbutton toselectradioalarm orradio
alarm +buzzeralarm,displaywill flashor.
5.Press Band button and rotarytuning knob toselectrequired
radiostation.You can alsoselectalarm station byrecalling the
presetstationspressing memorypresetsbutton.
6.Press and releaseSetbutton tocompleteradioalarm set.
Displaywill showradioalarm icon .
7.The volumelevelwill be sameaslastradiostation listening to.

Monitorradioalarmstation
Note:remotecontrolunitisnotapplicableforthisoperation.
1.Ensurethe radioisswitched off.
2.Longpress the M1button,until displayshowsradiofrequency.
Holddownanother3seconds,displaywill flashradiofrequency,
holddownanother3secondstocancelthe setradiostation.
3.Displaywill show““,when no radiostation isset.
Snooze function
1.Whilstan alarm issounding,pressing anybutton(exceptthe
On/Off orLightbutton)willactivatethesnoozefunction.
The radioorbuzzeralarm will be silenced for5minutes.
2.The displaywillflashboththe snoozesymboland the alarm
symbol.The snoozefunction can be repeated duringthe period
thatthe alarmsareactive.
Cancelalarmsetting
Cancelthe alarm setting can be done bothradioison oroff.
1.When radioisoff, press and releaseDisplaybutton,
displayalarm icon will flash.(when radioison,pressDisplay
buttontoalarm status)
2.Longpress SETbutton until bothalarm icon and timedigitsflash.
3.Press and releaseSELECTbutton until displayflashes.
4.Press SETbutton againtocancelalarm status.
Displayalarm icon will disappearafterflashing acouple
ofseconds.

Sleeptimer
The sleep timerwill automaticallyswitchoff the radioafterapreset
timehaselapsed.
1.Pressandcontinue toholddownthePowerOn/Off/Sleep button,
the displaywill cyclethrough the availablesleep timesinthe order
60-45-30-15-120-90-60.Releasethe button when the required
sleep timeappearsinthe displayand the radiowill playthe last
station selected.
2.Tocancelthesleepfunction,pressOn/Off button,
the symbolwill disappear.
Display backlight
Toturnondisplayillumination,press andreleaseLightbutton.
Bypressing and releasing Lightbutton,you mayalsoadjustdisplay
brightnessorturnoff theilluminationcompletely.

Connecttheantenna
The radiocomeswithBuilt-inAM/FMantenna.Toimprove
FMreception,insertthe end ofthe supplied FMwireantenna intothe
F-type antenna terminaland adjustthe wireforbestreception.
A75 ohmcoaxialcableofoutdoorantenna mayalsobe attached to
theterminal.Besuretoswitchexternal/internalantennaswitchto
Externalposition whileusingthe supplied wireantenna orconnect
theoutdoorantenna.InsomeEuropeancountries,youmayhaveto
connectthesupplied antennaterminaladaptortoconnectwiththe
outdoorantenna.

Connectingtheantenna
The radiocomeswithbuilt-inAMantenna whichshouldbe
enough fornormallistening.ToimprovetheAMreception,
youmayconnecttheoutdoorAMantennawithAMantennaterminal
(USAversiononly).
Tuning yourradio
Yourradioisequipped withthree tuning methods–Scan tuning,
RotarymanualtuningandMemorypresettuning.Whenswitchon
yourradiowill displaythewaveband andfrequency inuse.
Scantuning
1.PressthepowerOn/Offbutton.
2.Selectthe required waveband byrepeatedlypressing the
bandbutton.
3.Pressand releaseScanbutton,yourradiowill scan the selected
waveband and stop automaticallywhen itfindsastation of
sufficientstrength.
4.Setvolumecontroland tone controltothe desired setting
(described lateronvolumeandtone control)
5.Toswitchoff yourradio,press PowerOn/Off button.

Scantuning viaremotecontroldevice
1.Switchon yourradiobypressing the powerbutton.
2.Selectthe required waveband.
3.Press andholddowneitherthe tuningupordownbutton
until the frequencyinthe displaybeginstochange rapidly.
Releasethe button.
4.Yourradiowill scan the selectedthe waveband,stopping each
timeitfindsastation ofsufficientstrength.Adjustthe volume
controltotherequired level.
Rotarymanualtuning
1.Pressthe on/off button toswitchonyourradio.
2.Selectthe required waveband byrepeatedlypressing the
Bandbutton.
3.RotarytuningtheTuningknobwillchangethefrequencyinthe
followingincrements,
FM50 kHzor100 kHz
MW9kHzor10 kHz
4.Setthe volumeand tone controlstothe desired settings.
5.Toswitchoff yourradio,press theOn/Off button.

Presetting stations
Thereare5memorypresetsforeachFMand MWwavebands.
1.PresstheOn/Off buttontoturnon theradio.
2.Tune tothe required stationusing oneofmethods
previouslydescribed.
3.Press and holddownthe required Presetbutton until the radio
beeps(greaterthan 2seconds).The presetnumberwill appear
inthedisplayand the station will be stored underthe chosen
presetbutton.
4.Repeatthisprocedureforthe remaining presets.
5.Stationsstored inpresetmemoriesmaybe overwritten by
following theaboveprocedure.
Recalling apresetstation
1.PresstheOn/Off buttontoturnon theradio.
2.Selectthe required waveband byrepeatedlypressing the
Bandbutton.
3.Momentarilypressthe requiredPresetbutton,the presetnumber
and station frequency will appearinthe display.
Volumeand Tonecontrol
1.Rotarythe volumecontrolknob tosetthe requiredvolumelevel,
displaywill showvolumelevel(maximumto60 )
2.Press VolumecontroloncetogetintoTreblecontrol.
Rotarythe controluntil required trebleisreached.
3.PressVolumecontroltwicetogetintoBass control.
Rotarythe controluntil requiredbass isreached.

FMStereo/Mono button
1.If astation being received isweak,somehiss maybe audible.
Toreducethe hiss,press and holddownMono buttonuntil radio
beepsand displayshowsMONO.
2.Press andholddownthe Monobutton toreturntoStereo
operation.
3.FMstereo isonlyavailablewhen usingheadphones.
Changing tuning step
Note:remotecontrolunitisnotapplicableforthisoperation.
InEuropeand otherpartsofthe world,MWtuning stepsare9kHz,
inAmerica,the MWtuning step is10 kHz.
OnFM,mostcountriesuse100 kHztuningstep,yourradiocan
howeverbe setsoastoallowan FMtuningstep of50 kHz.
1)AdjustFMtuningstep
1.Ensurethatyourradioisswitched off. Press and holddownthe
M5button until FMstep beginstoappearinthe display.
Holddownthe M5button foranother8secondsuntil FMstep
beginstoflashinthe display.
2.RotarytheTuningcontroltoadjustrequiredFMtuningstep
(Rotarydowntoget50 kHzand rotaryup toget100 kHz).
3.Press the M5button againtocompletesetting.Displaywill return
toclock statusaftersetting.
Note:remotecontrolunitisnotapplicableforthisoperation.

2)AdjustMWtuningstep
1.Ensurethatyourradioisswitched off. Press and holddownthe
M4button untilAMstep beginstoappearinthe display.
Holddownthe M4button foranother8secondsuntilAMstep
beginstoflashinthe display.
2.Rotarythe tuningcontroltoadjustrequiredAMtuning step
(rotarydowntoget9kHzand rotaryup toget10 kHz).
3.Press the M4button againtocompletesetting.
Displaywill returntoclock statusaftersetting.
Change12/24 hourclock format
1.Ensurethatyourradioisswitched off. Press and holddown
theM3button until currentclock formatbeginstoappearinthe
display.Holddownthe M3button foranother8secondsuntil
clock formatbeginstoflashinthe display.
2.Rotarythetuningcontroltoadjustrequiredclockformat
(rotaryup toget24 hoursformatand rotarydowntoget12 hours
format).
3.Press the M3button againtocompletesetting.
Displaywill returntoclock statusaftersetting.
Note:remotecontrolisnotapplicableforthisoperation.

RadioDataSystem(RDS)
The RadioDataSystem(RDS)isasysteminwhichinaudible
digitalinformation istransmitted inaddition tothe normalFMradio
program.RDSoffersseveralusefulfeatures,the followingsare
availableonyourradio.
ProgramService(PS)name
The ProgramServicenameisatextusuallyconsisting ofnotmore
thaneightalphanumericcharacters.It indicatesinformation aboutthe
programbeing broadcast.Astation nameoran abbreviation is
showninthedisplayinsteadofthetuned frequency
(Example:BBCR4).
EnhancedOtherNetwork(EON)
Additionalinformation aboutotherprogramswithinthe samenetwork
istransmitted whenyourbroadcasting station isusingan Enhanced
OtherNetwork.You willheartrafficflashesofotherprogramswithin
thenetworkautomaticallyiftheTrafficAnnouncementfunctionis
switchedon.
TrafficInformation System
The TrafficProgramidentification (TP)indicateswhichRDSstations
provideTrafficinformation.TheTrafficAnnouncementidentification
(TA)indicatesTrafficinformation isbeing broadcast. When TAis
received,the symbolwill flashinthe display.

Clock Time(CT)automaticadjustment
The ClockTimeinformation transmitted fromthe broadcasting
station canbeusedforsettingandsynchronizingthe clock ofyour
radioautomatically.TheAuto-Timefunction canbe enabled or
disabled bythe user.
Alternative Frequencies (AF)
ThisfeatureprovidesalistofAlternativeFrequenciesforthe
station being received.You can switchtothosefrequencies
directlyifdesired.
Operating yourradiousing RDS
(RadioDataSystem)
1.Switchon yourradioand selectthe FMwaveband.
2.Tune intoastation,the displaywillindicatefrequency fora
fewsecondsand then changetoshowthe stationname.
The RDSsymbolwill appearinthe display.
3.If the stationdoesnotcarryRDSinformation onlythe station
frequencywill beshown.
4.The RDSsymbolwill flashifthe signalistoo weakfor
RDSoperation.
