LOCATION & REMOVAL INSTALLATION
INSTALLATION
Important note;
Switch off car and remove key, wait 10 minutes
before removing any factory connectors.
Installation is made at the front monitor on all models,
you will need to remove the monitor by removing the
two screws shown below.
Next unplug the silver 10 way plug and black 12 way
plug from the monitor and remove from the car.
You may choose to mount the interface behind the
glove box area, which is easily removed with screws
at the front and underside of the glove box itself.
Power and CAN connections
Power and CAN connections are made at the 12 way BLACK
plug from the screen unit.
You will need to connect the supplied 10 way WHITE plug loom
on to;
CAR connect to NAV-INBMW3
PIN 5 (BLACK) to PIN 5 (BLACK)
PIN 5 (ORANGE/GREEN) (X5) to PIN 5 (BLACK)
PIN 6 (YELLOW) to PIN 10 (YELLOW)
PIN 6 (GREEN) (X5) to PIN 10 (YELLOW)
PIN 1 (RED 12v+ perm) to PIN 1 (RED)
PIN 3 (BROWN12v– GROUND) to PIN 2 (BROWN)
See “Operating Instructions” for; PIN 3 12v– out (WHITE)
Plug the WHITE plug in to the socket in the interface marked
SUPPLY, FINALLY AFTER ALL OTHER CONNECTIONS.
AND REMOVE POWER FIRST BEFORE REMOVING ANY
OTHER CONNECTIONS. FAILURE CAN CAUSE FAULTS
Video connections
Connect the shorter of the supplied GREY cables to the silver
male 10 way plug of the car harness (removed from the
screen)
Next connect the shorter of the supplied grey cables to
the black socket marked INPUT TO HARNESS on the
interface (see below)
Next plug in the longer of the supplied grey cables to
the metal screen socket,
and to the black socket marked OUTPUT TO SCREEN
on the interface (see below)
Connect your added video sources / camera to the
composite or RGB inputs shown below

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
The interface allows both composite video signals and RGB
signals to be displayed onto the existing OEM factory screen.
Installation Profiles
Before installation the following points must be considered:
Screen size?
BMW Large screen 07> switch 1 ON 2 OFF
BMW Large screen >06 switch 1 OFF 2 OFF
BMW Small screen switch 1 OFF 2 ON
NEW MINI 07> switch 1 ON 2 ON

How many inputs will be utilised (Aux 1 / 2 / reverse or RGB)?
If only one input will be used then switches 7 & 8 should be in the
up (OFF) position.
Will there be a reverse camera?
If there is, switch 3will need to be down (ON) enabling Reverse control via
CAN detection, also switch ( should be down (ON) to enable optional full
screen camera picture by pressing the MENU button.
The source signals (composite video 1/2/reverse and RGB ) are
multi format supported; currently PAL and NTSC.
Interface Features
The interface has various features which can be selected/customised (via DIP
switches) to suit the installers/end users requirements.
The available features are as follows:
CAN input (option to control inputs via iDrive)
V-HUB activation (option to control inputs via the iDrive controller)
Reverse Input (option to have reverse camera input and switched via CAN )
12V- Output (option to have 12v- output to follow picture Overlay or ACC)
Auxiliary 1 / 2 (option to control inputs via iDrive or V-HUB
RGB control (option to control inputs via iDrive or V-HUB
Super wide/Wide (option to see the selected input on the full screen)
Auto Video Sense / Manual video select with iDrive controller

DIP Switch control options
Switch down is ON
Switch UP is off
1 - Vehicle option 1
2 - Vehicle option 2
3 - Reverse camera input
4- OFF Auto video sense / ON Manual video select
5- OFF
6- OFF 12v- OUT follows picture overlay / ON 12v- OUT ACC
7 - Enable Aux 2
8 - Enable RGB
9 - Super wide enable (only available on BMW professional
system)
10- OFF
To switch to aux inputs and also to switch back to BMW factory
system press and hold the iDrive controller for 3 seconds.
To toggle through the aux inputs (if aux 2, RGB or Reverse
camera is active) press down the iDrive controller.
To stretch picture to full screen on any aux in press MENU
It is not possible to switch back to factory from RGB/NAV
12V– is Ground only, used to power a relay to convert to 12V+
