Overview
The handset extender (5000 version) is used for areas where the
operator needs to be significantly distant from the transceiver. The
maximum distance this unit allows the operator to be from the
transceiver is 1524m or 5000ft.
Installation Instructions
1.Ensure that all items in the contents list are present.
a.Note that the controller has a volume control knob, and the
booster does not.
2.Check for any visible damage to components.
3.Locate a suitable location for the controller unit, and speaker.
4.Screw the chassis of the controller into a location that is easily
reached by the operator.
5.Mount the speaker using the mounting bracket or the magnetic
mount.
6.Connect the speaker to the back of the controller (shown in
orange).
7.Connect the SATRAD-G2 hand set to the handset port on the front
of the controller (shown in green).
8.Plug the power supply to the back of the controller (shown in
purple).
9.If not already done run a cable from the operator’s location to the
transceiver of the SATRAD-G2. This cable must be no longer than
1524 m or 5000 ft (shown in blue).
10. Mount the booster in a location near the transceiver of the
SATRAD-G2.
11. Connect the cable (from the operators location) to the front of
the booster.
12. Connect the cable from the back of the booster to the handset
port on the SATRAD-G2 (shown in black).
13. Connect the power supply to the back of the booster (shown in
purple).
