Overview
The handset extender is used for areas where the operator
needs to be significantly distant from the transceiver. The
maximum distance this unit allows the operator to be from the
transceiver is 206m or 675ft.
User Instructions
1. Connect the handset to the handset port on the control unit.
2. Adjust the speaker volume to the desired level. For minimal
volume then turn the knob fully counter-clockwise.
3. If the handset doesn’t currently show any information, then
depress the ‘PWR’, and hold until the “MSAT” shows on the
screen.
4. Select the desired talk group and depress the "push to talk"
button to initiate a transmission. For details on operation of
the handset, refer to the MSAT User Guide.
a. On the handset press the button below “Group”, then the
up and down arrow until the proper group is highlighted
then press the select key.
b. Talk group 00 is for private mode calling. If you know the
DN number of the other system, enter in the 4 digits under
this talk group to initiate a private mode call.
5. Press the PTT button and speak the message. Release the PTT
when finished.
6. Adjust the volume control until the optimal volume is heard.

The handset extender doesn’t change any operational features
of the SATRAD-G2. For more information on the SATRAD-G2
refer to the MAST user guide.
