properly abided by it assures good operation, safety, and durability to your

There is an identification plate fastened on the machine, which displays the
manufacturing serial number. Write this number, in the end of this manual.
This information is extremely important to identify your machine, in cases
when you need technical support or replacement parts.

- Read the instruction manual before turning on the machine. Pay attention and respect all the
operating and safety recommendations while running the machine. SHARE THIS INFORMATION
WITHALLOTHERUSERS.
- Do not operate the machine while or after drinking alcoholic beverages or medications which affect
your normal condition. Pay attention to what you are doing and use your good sense. Any lack of
attentionwhileoperatingthemachinecanresultinaseriousaccident.
- Disconnect from the power take-off, the tractor motor, and remove the key from the ignition before
performing any adjustment, lubrication, or any maintenance job on the machine. Never try to perform
anyrepairswhilethemachineisturnedon.Alwayspaycompleteattention!
-Beforeturningonthemachine,checktoseeiftherearenotoolsoranyotherobjectonit.
- Look around the machine before operating it. Keep animals and spectators at a safe distance, away
fromthepowersupplyarea.Payspecialattentiontoanychildrennearby.
- Dress appropriately for operating the machine. Keep long hair tied up and do not wear loose-fitting
clothing. Remove rings, chains, and any other objects which can become stuck in the moving parts or
mechanisms.
- Wear personal protective equipment - PPE while operating the machine. Exposure to noise for
prolongedperiodcancausehearingdamageorloss.Wearearplugsandsafetyglasses.
- Never try to clean or remove remnants of products while the machine is turned on. This type of
procedure can only done while the power take-off is disconnected, the key removed from the ignition,
andthemachineiscompletelymotionless.
- Never touch the pulleys, belts, and other moving parts while the machine is turned on. Keep your
handsawayfrommovingparts.
-Keeptheshieldsandprotectionsintheproperplacesanddonotoperatethemachinewithoutthem.
-Keepthesafetylabelsingoodconditionandlegible.Replacethemwhenevernecessary.
- It is prohibited for people to stand on any part of the machine while operating. Whenever it is
necessary to get on the machine for any adjustment or repair, disconnect the power take-off from the
tractorandwaituntilthecomponents/partsarecompletelymotionless.

-Performthefollowingmeasuresinordertoavoidanyunbalancingofthemachineand,consequently,
makingaccidentspossible:
Bothmowingdrumsmustbeequippedwithalltheblades,neworequallyworn.
Donotchangeonlyonebladeinthedrum,butchangetheentireset.
Thedrumsmustbeequippedwithallthetransportplates.
Anydamagedorworndrums,plates,andbladeholdersmustbereplacedassoonaspossible.
Donotexceedaspeedof540RPMinthepowertake-off.
-Movingcomponents/partsduetoinertiacontinuemovingafterthepowerisshutofftothemachinefor
sometime. So, before changing any component/part, disconnect the power source, look, and listen to
check if there is any evidence of movement. Only touch the component/part when you are sure it is
motionless.Alwayspaycloseattention!
-Keeppeopleandanimalsawayatasafedistancewhilethemachineisoperating.
-Ifitisnecessarytooperatethemachinewhileitissuspendedbythehydraulicsystem,itmustbedone
safety. The hydraulic mechanisms can descend without any reason or due to leakage in the system
andcauseanaccident.
- Do not place the machine on cement blocks, hollow tiles, or other supports which can crush from a
prolongedweightload.
-Donotworkunderamachineliftedbyonlyjacks;alwaysuseasafesupportbase.
-Always check the terrain before starting your mowing job. Mark any dangerous places or obstacles
whichmayimposeahazardtotheoperatingmachine.
- If you notice any abnormality in the operation: vibrations, different noises etc., turn off the machine
immediately.Checkandeliminatethecausebeforeturningitonagain.
- Never operate the machine in closed surroundings and without any ventilation, the gases released
fromthetractormotorarehighlyharmfultoyourhealth.
-Donotusethedriveshaftwithoutthesafetyshield.Keepasafedistancefromthemovingdriveshaft.
- Whenever maneuvering the machine connected to the tractor, make sure there is enough space for
performingthemaneuvers.
- Always set the speed of the tractor movement based on the local conditions. Avoid any sudden
maneuversespeciallyinplaceswhereitissloped.Whenhitchingaloadthatisheavierthanthetractor,
neverexceedaspeedof16km/hour.

- The tractor must always be maneuverable. Place enough counterweights on it so the front tires stay
incontactwiththeground.
-Beespeciallycarefulwhencouplinganddetachingthemachinetoorfromthetractor.Payattentionto
the coupling pins to make sure they are latched. Always use the cotter pins to avoid the pins from
releasingaccidentally.
- Pay even more attention when working on sloped terrain. If you notice any unbalancing, reduce the
speed.Whengoingdowntheslope,alwayskeepthetractorhitched.
- When driving the tractor with the machine on public roadways, obey the current valid legislation
regarding the maximum height and width for transport. Pay close attention to the height of the load,
especiallywhengoingunderoverpassesandbridges.
-Neverleavethetractorwhenthemachineisturnedon.Stopthemotor,disconnectthepowertake-off,
engagetheparkingbrake,andremovetheignitionkey.
- Using this equipment for applications not mentioned in this manual and considered as unacceptable
and unauthorized by the manufactured; adaptations or replacing after-market parts causing a
negativeimpactonitsoperation,orendangertheoperatorwillrevokethemanufacturer’sguarantee.
- Be prepared for any possible accident. Keep a first-aid kit on hand and easily accessible and know
howtouseit.
- Comply with the safety recommendations and pay close attention. Any lack of attention during the
operationmayresultinaccidents.

TheDrumMowerSN-165 was manufactured exclusively formowingplantsusedformaking pre-dried
hay or silage, such as alfalfa, oatmeal, ryegrass, coast-cross, clover, rhodes, in fact, any plants with
thinstalkswhichgrowneartheground,especiallyherbs.
TheDrumMowerispreparedforcouplingtothethreepoints,categoryIandII(fig.01).Ifitisnecessary
to adjust the driveshaft, proceed as shown in figure 2. Place both parts parallel and mark the place for
cuttingtheends,leaving25millimetersofplay.
Removethedriveshaftfromthemachineandcutit.
Fasten the hydraulic arms rigidly the chains of bars so that the Drum Mower is placed in the correct
position. Adjust the hydraulic amrs so that the drums are aligned in the correct operating position
(fig.03).

Check to see if the machine does not articulate inadvertently and spontaneously into the operating
position, and never stay in the machine articulating zone, and definitely not, between the tractor and
themachine.
Donotarticulatethemachineintothecuttingpositionunlessitisinoperatingarea.
1-Placethemachineandthetractoronaflatplace,sothattheyarelevel.
2-Checkifthedrumsarefreelyturning.
3-LowertheDrumMowertoabout10centimetersfromthegroundandremovethelockingpin(5).
4- Pull the rope (2) making the locking pin release (3), unlatching the head. Afterwards, move the
machineintotheoperatingposition.
5-Assemblethesafetydevice(1)tothepin(4)andplacethelockingpin(5).

During the preparation phase, the power take-off must be disengaged.

1-Makesurethesafetydeviceisworking(1)beforestartingyourwork.
2-Checktheshieldsandlatchestomakesuretheyareproperlyassembledandrepairanypartswhich
maybewornoutordamaged.
3-Putintherightgearandspeedforobtainingthebestmowingperformance.
4-Changeanywornblades.Sharpbladesprovidebettingmowing.
1- Adjust the arm of the third point to the tractor so that the Drum Mower is in the correct operating
height,whichisinahorizontalpositionorslightlytiltedforwards.
Thiswaytheshoesworkmoreefficiently.Themowingheightcanbechanged(lowered)usingthethird
armtothetractorconnectingpoint.
CAUTION:Inordertoavoidwastingfodder,nevertiltthemachinebackwards.
2-Incaseyouareworkingonslopedterrains,theDrumMowermustalwaysonthehigherside.
NOTE: When working on rocky terrain, it is possible to reduce the pressure on the machine applied to
the ground by assembling the spring to the lower hole. This way, it decreases the wear on the drum
blades.
5-Beforebeginningthemowing,thedrums(14)mustbe
rotating full speed (540 RPM from the power take-off) in
ordertoassuregoodperformance.
6- The spring (6) reduces the support pressure from the
ground. It actuates between the head and head and the
liftingbar.
Thepressuresustainstheintermediatestructuresinthe
horizontalposition:

1-Usethehydraulicsystemofthetractortoliftthemachinealittle.
2-Removethelockingpin(5)fromthesafetydevice(1)andreleasethelever(9).
3-Turnthemachinetotherear,untilthepinfastenedtotheendoftherope(2)engagesautomatically.
Parking:After the machine is in the transport position, lower the support base (10), fastening it to the
cotterpin(8).Lowerthemachineuntilthegroundanddisengageitfromthetractor.
BEWARE
Disconnect the power take-off, the tractor motor, and remove the key from the
ignitionbeforeperforminganyadjustment,maintenanceorcleaningjobonthe
machine.
Also remember that suspended equipment on the hydraulic supports is not
completely safe. We recommend placing an appropriate shim to prop it up so
thatyoucansafelyperformthemaintenancejobunderthemachine.

BLADES:
The mowing blades are very sharp and dangerous, so when changing them, use the wrench (29)
suppliedwiththemachine.
InstallonlyOEMblades(20).Thesebladeshavetwocuttingedgesandlasttwiceaslongbyinstalling
themon thedrumandthenontheopposite sideaswell.Assemblinganddetachingthem isextremelly
easyusingthespecialsuppliedwrench(29).
Pushthebladeholders (30) using the specialwrench(29),changetheblade (14), remove the wrench
(29) and, then check for good fastening of the blade. Clean the scraps of fodder in this area and then
checkforproperfasteningofthebladeholderpins.
CAUTION:
Thebladeholderpinsmustberoutinelyinspected.
Checkifthepindiameterisequalto7mm(asshowninthebelowfigure).
Iftheyaresmallerthanthismeasurement,thebladeholdersmustbereplaced.
- Mowing exerts a considerable load on the transmission
gearbox (16). For this reason, the cover was made from sturdy
material and fastened by many adjustment screws. Routinely
checktoseethatthescrewsaretightenough.
-Change thecovertrim onthetransmission gearboxwhenever
necessary.

1-Removethefasteningscrews(16)andtheshoe(17).
2-Replacethe3bladeholder(15)fromeachdrum.
LUBRICATINGOTHERPARTS-ASSHOWNBELOW:
Greasedaily:
Greasenozzle(1),(2),(3),(4),(5)and(6).
Cross bars and driveshaft tubes, as explained in their
respectiveinstructions.
Lubricatethemachineandthedriveshaftusinggoodqualitygrease,thusyouwillmaketheequipment
worksmoothlyandlastlonger.
TRANSMISSIONGEARBOX:
TheDRUM MOWERisdelivered fromthefactory withthetransmission gearbox(13)lubricated by5.5
Kg of grease. Generally, it is necessary to only lubricate once a year. When doing repairs, use only
goodqualitygreaseandnevermixbrandsordifferenttypes.

Perform this operation only when the tractor is turned on and the key is
removed from the ignition.

There is a spring device for tightening the belt (37). When the “X” distance between the indicator (38)
and the base (39) reaches 3 mm (or more) it is necessary to tighten the belts using the nuts (40) to
tightenuntilreachingtheindicator(38)thattouchesthebase(39).
CAUTION:
The “V” belts are the most critical parts in the machine, thus it is essential that routine and adequate
maintenance is performed. It is always important to adapt the speed of the tractor to the working
conditionsasto avoidoverloadingthe belts.Anexcessiveload causesoverheatingand consequently
beltslippage.Likewise,thebeltswillslipwhenthetensionistooloose.
Changingtheoilafter50mowinghours:
Safetydevice(1).
Belt tightening
TheDrumMowerisequippedwithasafetydevice(1)that
will be activated whenever an obstacle is hit; this makes
the machine go around it. If this occurs, you should
immediatelystopthetractorandengageinreversegear.
When going in reverse, the device will automatically
engage.
If the safety device (1) is automatically activated while
mowing, without hitting obstacle, it is probable that the
spring tension (11) is too low. In this case, use the nut to
tightenit(12).
CAUTION:
Nevertightenthenutsothespringisblocked,astopreventthesafetydevicefromactivation.
