1) Stringing a guitar
C ange string one by one, t is will prevent ig tension c ange in t e neck and allow a better
precision intonation work and vibrato tune after.
Put t e string out tension, t en cut it between t e end of t e neck and t e bridge (near pickups),
take care of your instrument finis t at way.
Unmounts t e string from t e mec anic and t e nut, t en unmounts t e rest of t e string from
t e bridge.
Clean your instrument wit adapted product cleaner t an restring wit t e new string and put it
in tune.
Repeat until you ave c anged eac string you wanted to c ange and it’s done for t at.
Now verify t e curve of t e neck t an strings action at 12t fret.
2) Tuning the truss rod
If you ad c ange string gauge or ave a vibrato, block it so it can’t move t an follow t e met od
explained ere.
T e neck curve s ould be flat but if t ere is freeze at some fret at t e middle of t e neck, you
prefer and can make it disappear by t e truss rod way, it could be a nice solution.
T e truss rod ave a screw at w ic wit an adapted driver you can make c ange on t e curve of
your instrument, t e way you will ave to turn it depend of t e truss rod installed inside your
instrument, t en try slig tly and see or measure t e difference to know ow it act on t e neck
relief.
Now you know, just tune it as flat as possible, tune t e string action, tune t e intonation and to
finis t e vibrato spring if t ere is, verify and t en repeat t e process if needed.
3) Tuning the vibrato
It’s needed to block t e vibrato in t e normal position, t e plate of t e vibrato need to be near
parallel to t e body table.
W en t is is done, tune t e intonation of eac string, we recommend t e use of our software
for t is purpose, eac string s ould be at t eir normal tension w en doing t is job.
Finally, unblock t e vibrato and tune t e spring to put t e plate of t e vibrato to is normal
position, use a tuner to finis t is part.
