hapter 1 Introduction
1.1 Production Features
IR speed dome dopts high-perform nce integr ted sensor with the uto-focus nd uto-white
b l nce function. With built-in p n/tilt unit, the IR speed dome fe tures in highly sensitive
response nd reli ble perform nce. The outst nding fe tures re shown s below:
Adopt 1/4" high perform nce CCD, which ensures the im ge qu lity.
Support 3D-Positioning function, which c n loc te the t rget quickly nd correctly.
Built-in temper ture sensor, which c n displ y the intern l temper ture of the c mer .
Support the scheduled preset, p trol, p ttern, nd uto-sc n functions.
Support both English nd Chinese, nd support oper tion prompts which m ke it e sier to
oper te.
Ingress protection level re ches IP66.
With the bove fe tures, the IR speed dome c n be widely used in v rious surveill nce fields, such
s forest, r ilw y, irport, h rbor, oil field, pl z , p rk, scenic spot, street, tr in st tion, st dium, etc.

hapter 2 Getting Started
Before you start:
You c n oper te the speed dome using control device. The control devices include the control
keybo rds, DVRs, DVSs, etc. In this nd the following ch pters, oper tion of the speed dome by the
IE browser of DVR is t ken s n ex mple.
Note: Ple se m ke sure th t the b udr te, d t bit nd ddress of the speed dome h ve been
configured to the s me s those of the control device. Ple se refer to T ble 2-1 for det ils of the
configur tion.
2.1 Power on Self-test Actions
After the power is connected, the IR dome performs series of POST (power on self-test) which
includes the lens ctions nd the p n nd tilt movements. After the power on self-test finished, the
system inform tion displ ys for 2 minutes on the live view screen shown below.

2.2 System-defined Presets
Purpose:
The section lists the system-defined presets with speci l functions. These presets c nnot be edited
but only be c lled by control device, e.g., DVR. To c ll the system-defined presets remotely, you
c n choose the preset number from the drop-down list in the PTZ control p nel of the control
device through web browser. Ple se refer to the t ble below for det ils.

2.3 On Screen Display
The IR speed dome provides series of on-screen displ y for better oper tion. The on screen displ y
includes Zoom, P n/Tilt ngle, Preset title, Time.
Zoom: Displ yed s Z-XXX, XXX st nds for the current zoom v lue of the lens.
P/T Angle: Displ y s NEXXX-TXXX, NE –XXX st nds for the ngle in Northe st direction. The
numbers followed by T st nd for the ngle vertic lly. E.g., NE062 T046, it me ns the lens is iming t
the ngle of 210 degrees in South, 046 degrees vertic lly.
Time Displ y: Displ yed s D y/Month/Ye r/D y of Week/Hour/Minute. It supports 24-hour time
system.
Preset Title: After you c ll the configured preset, the preset number is displ yed if the lens move to
the cert in pl ce where you’ve set preset for.

2. You c n click the left nd right direction buttons in the PTZ control p nel vi the IE browser
of the DVR to enter the next p ge nd return to the previous p ge of the submenu if more
th n one p ge is v il ble.
3.1 Main Menu
To enter the main menu:
Connect the speed dome to DVR nd visit the DVR vi n IE browser. For PELCO-P/D nd other
priv te PTZ protocols, c ll preset 95 from the preset list of the DVR.

To move the cursor and operate the menu:
Move the cursor up/down: On the IE browser live view p ge of the DVR, click up nd down
direction buttons or FO US + nd FO US - buttons in the PTZ control p nel to move the cursor
up nd down.
Enter/Exit: On the IE browser live view p ge of the DVR, click IRIS+ to enter submenu; move
the cursor to Exit nd click IRIS+ to exit.
To change the value of a parameter:
Steps:
1. Move the cursor (excl m tion m rk) to the t rget item nd click IRIS+ to select the item.
2. Click the up/down or left/right buttons in the PTZ control p nel to choose the v lue from the
select ble list.
3. Press IRIS+ to confirm the ch nge or click IRIS- to c ncel nd restore the origin l v lue.
3.2 Dome Setup
Move the cursor to the Dome Setup, nd click IRIS+ to enter the Dome edit mode. See Figure 3-2.

3.2.1 onfiguring the System Parameters
Purpose:
You c n check nd lso edit the system inform tion of the softw re ddress, b udr te, system time,
etc. on the system inform tion settings menu.
Enter the system inform tion settings menu:

Note: You c n click the left nd right direction buttons in the PTZ control p nel vi the IE browser of
the DVR to enter the next p ge nd return to the previous p ge of the submenu if more th n one
p ge is v il ble.
Descriptions of system parameter configuration:
Soft Address Settings
If the SOFT ADDR is set s ON, the soft ddress is the v lid ddress for connecting to the IR
speed dome. The select ble soft ddress r nge is from 1 to 255;
If the SOFT ADDR is set s OFF, the h rd ddress set by the DIP switch is the v lid ddress of the
speed dome (the h rd ddress is set s 0 by def ult).
Notes:
1. Before you set the soft ddress of the speed dome, you need to confirm the control r nge of

the control device (e.g. the DVR).
2. After you en ble/dis ble the soft ddress, the speed dome will reboot utom tic lly to
ctiv te the settings.
Soft baudrate settings
If the SOFT BAUD is set s ON, the soft b udr te is the v lid b udr te for the speed dome, with
2400, 4800, nd 9600 re select ble.
If the SOFT BAUD is set s OFF, the b udr te should be set by the DIP switch.
Note: After you en ble/dis ble the soft b udr te, the speed dome will reboot utom tic lly to
ctiv te the settings.
Broadcast Address Settings.
When the BROAD AST ADDRESS is set to ON, the control device with ddress 0 is c p ble of
controlling ll domes connected to it.
Protocol Settings
The PELCO CHECKSUM is used for Pelco-P nd Pelco-D protocols. If the video turns to sl ck or
uncontroll ble, you c n set the PELCO CHECKSUM s ON to improve the video qu lity.
Time Setup
You c n set the system time (See Figure 3-4) from this item ccording to the steps below.
Steps:
(1) Move the cursor to TIME SETUP by using the direction buttons nd click IRIS+ to enter.
(2) Click the left/right direction buttons to position the cursor on the specific item
(ye r/month/d y or hour/minute/second) of which you w nt to ch nge the v lue.
(3) Click the up/down direction buttons to incre se/decre se the v lue.
(4) Click IRIS+ button to confirm nd exit.

ºangle (initial position) configuration
You c n define the initi l position of the speed dome from PAN ZERO SETUP.
Steps:
1. Move the cursor to PAN ZERO SETUP using the direction buttons nd click IRIS+ to enter.
2. Click the left/right/up/down direction buttons to djust the monitor ngle of the speed dome to
find the initi l position.
3. Click IRIS+ button to confirm nd exit.
Display Setup
This option is for the on screen displ y setup. The Zoom, P n/Tilt ngle, Preset title, Time, nd
He tf n c n be displ yed on the screen by setting them to “ON”. To dis ble the displ y of those

menus, you c n set them to “OFF”.

3.2.2 onfiguring the amera Settings

You c n configure the Focus, Shutter, White B l nce nd Noise Reduce, etc. on the OSD menu. See
Figure 3-6.

Focus Settings
Steps:
(1) Move the cursor to FO US using the direction buttons nd click IRIS+ to enter.
(2) Click up/down direction buttons to choose the focus mode s AF, MF or HAF.
AF (Auto-focus): The lens rem ins in focus during PTZ movements.
MF (M nu l Focus): Lens focus is djusted m nu lly.
HAF (H lf- uto Focus): The lens rem ins t fixed focus point when PTZ movements stop;
when the PTZ movements re resumed, the lens focuses utom tic lly. It is the def ult focus
mode.
(3) Click IRIS+ button to confirm.
Zoom Limit Settings
Purpose:

Zoom limit is user-defined limit tion of the zoom mount (Zoom mount=optic l zoom× digit l
zoom). T ke DS-2AF1-762 s n ex mple, if you set the zoom limit s 20, the optic l zoom
function will be performed, nd if you set the zoom limit to 40, 80, 160, or 320, the digit l zoom
function will be en bled then.
Note: The zoom limit function is only supported by cert in c mer model series.
Zoom Speed Settings
Purpose:
You c n define the speed t which the lens ch nges from dist nt view to the close shot.
Steps:
(1) Move the cursor to ZOOM SPEED using the direction buttons nd click IRIS+ to enter.
(2) Click up/down direction buttons to choose the speed from HIGH, MEDUIM nd LOW.
(3) Click IRIS+ button to confirm.
Slow Shutter.
Slow shutter is for slow down the shutter speed nd extends exposure time under low lighting
circumst nces to obt in cle rer im ge.
Note: The Slow Shutter function is only supported by cert in c mer model series.
IR ut Filter.
It c n be set s AUTO, DAY or NIGHT.
AUTO: The speed dome is c p ble of utom tic lly switching from Bl ck nd White mode
(NIGHT) nd Color mode (DAY) reg rding to the lightening conditions. It is the def ult v lue.
NIGHT (B/W): You c n switch the IR cut filter into Bl ck nd White mode to incre se the lens
sensitivity in low light conditions
DAY ( olor): You c n switch it to DAY mode in norm l lighting conditions.
Note: You c n set the IR UT FILTER v lue on this menu, nd you c n c ll preset 39 to set the IR cut
filter mode to DAY mode nd c ll preset 40 to set it s NIGHT mode. This c n only be done fter you
set the LED ONTROL to LOSE from IR PARAMETER.
D/N Level.
The D/N level is the brightness for uto D/N mode switch. As threshold, IR cut filter switches
between DAY nd NIGHT when the light condition re ches the user-defined D/N level. Three
levels re select ble: 0, 1 nd 2.
Sharpness:
The sh rpness function c n incre se the uto-g in of the speed dome nd sh rpen the edges in
the picture to enh nce the picture det ils. You c n set the SHARPNESS level from 0 to 15. The
def ult setting level is 8.
AE Mode
It defines the priority of iris, shutter nd g in while the speed dome djusting the brightness of
the live view. You c n set the AE Mode to Auto or Manual. When it is set to Auto, the g in is
djust ble, nd if it is set to M nu l, the shutter nd g in re djust ble.
Shutter
You c n set it s 1, 2, 4, 8, 15, 30, 50, 125, 180, 250, 500, 1000, 2000, 4000 or 10000.
Note: The v lue of X indic tes th t the shutter speed is 1/X second. If you set the SHUTTER v lue
bigger (shutter speed is f ster), the mount of entering light per second is fewer, nd the im ge is
d rker.

The v lue of g in indic tes the mplific tion degree of the origin l im ge sign l. You c n set the
v lue from 0 to 15.
Exposure ompensation Function:
You c n set the EXPOSURE OMP v lue from 0 to 14. The v lue ch nge c n ffect the exposure
effect, nd the def ult v lue is 7.
White Balance:
You c n set WHITE BALAN E mode s AUTO, INDOOR, OUTDOOR, SELFDEF (self-defined), ATW
( uto-tr cking) nd HAUTO (h lf- uto).
Image Flip:
If you turn the IMAGE FLIP function on, the im ge will be flipped di gon lly long its centr l xis,
shown s the mirror reflection of the im ge.
Note: The im ge flip function is only supported by cert in c mer model series.
Focus Limit
You c n set FO US LIMIT s 30 M, 1M or 3M to m ke sure th t the speed dome focuses on the
t rget; when you set it s 1M (def ult), the focus limit will utom tic lly ch nge ccording to
the lens zooming.
Init Lens
You c n turn the INIT LENS on to trigger spont neous lens initi tion to ensure the norm l
oper tion
Noise Reduction:
There re two options for noise reduction: ON or OFF.
HR Mode
Set the HR MODE s ON to djust the resolution higher. Switch it OFF to dis ble the function,
which c n void cross color of the im ge.
ontrast:
Adjust the im ge contr st on ONTRAST submenu to 0-7.
Saturation:
Adjust the im ge s tur tion on SATURATION submenu to 0-7.
3.2.3 onfiguring the PTZ Parameters
You c n configure the P rk Time, Im ge Freeze, Dome Speed, etc. ccording to the steps in this
session. See Figure 3-7. Enter PTZ configur tion menu:

Descriptions of PTZ parameter configuration:
Auto-Flip
In m nu l tr cking mode, when t rget object goes directly bene th the speed dome, it
utom tic lly rot tes (flips) 90 degrees horizont lly to tr ck the object, if there is no further
comm nd received, it rot tes 180 degrees horizont lly, nd then move upw rd str ightly.
Proportional PT
When the speed dome is zooming in/out, you c n en ble the Proportion l PT function to
utom tic lly reduce or incre se the p nning nd tilting speed ccording to the zooming
mount. This function en bles the speed dome to tr ce the object t proper speed when the
speed dome is zooming nd the monitored scene is n rrowed (zoom in) or enl rged (zoom out).
The p nning nd tilting speeds is slower in telephoto st te th n th t of the wide zoom st te.
You c n set PROPORTIONAL PT to ON or OFF to en ble/dis ble the function.
Note: This function is en bled utom tic lly while setting the p tterns.
Park Time
This fe ture llows the speed dome to st rt predefined p rk ction (sc n, preset, p ttern, etc.)
utom tic lly if there is no control sign l received fter period of in ctivity (p rk time). You
c n set PARK TIME from 5 to 720 seconds.
Park A
You c n set the p rk ction (PARK A T) s preset 1-8, p ttern 1-4, p trol 1-4, p n sc n, d y
mode, night mode or none.
Scan Speed
Sc n speed defines the sc n degree per second of p nning sc n. P n sc n speed is djust ble
from 1 to 40 degrees per second.
Image Freeze
This fe ture en bles the live view to switch directly from one scene defined by preset to
nother, without showing the tr nsition re s between these two to ensure the surveill nce
efficiency. It c n lso reduce the use of b ndwidth in digit l network system.
You c n set IMAGE FREEZE on to en ble this function.
Note: The im ge freeze function is only supported by cert in c mer model series.

The m nu l movement speed c n be set s HIGH, MID or LOW.
Limit Stops
If you set the limit stops to OFF, the movement of the speed dome will not be ffected even if
you setup the limits.
Limit Setup
Steps:
1. Move the cursor to Limit Setup nd click IRIS+ to enter the edit mode.
2. Use the direction button in the PTZ p nel to define the re when you see SET LEFT LIMIT
on the screen.
3. Follow the prompts to configure the right, up nd down limit stops.
Note: The new limit stops will overwrite the existed ones by def ult.
lear Limit
You c n cle r the defined limit stops. Click IRIS+ to enter LEAR Limit nd click IRIS+ to cle r the
stops.
Elevation Angle
Elev tion ngle is used for djusting the ngle in vertic l direction.
Note: The Elev tion ngle function is only supported by cert in c mer model series.
PT heck
PTZ check is used for the uto-position correction when the c mer is out of synchronism. It is
set to OFF by def ult, nd usu lly used in the vibr tion environment. It is not recommended to
set it ON when there is no synchronism lost.
3.2.4 onfiguring the IR Parameter Setup
You c n configure the IR Sense, Ne r/F r LED Current, F n/He t Control from this section. See
Figure 3-8.

IR Sens
IR sensitivity refers to the v lue of the IR LED, nd you c n set it to Low, Medium, nd High.
Near LED urrent
Ne r LED Current refers to the strength of the ne r IR LED.
Note: The ne r LED current function is only supported by cert in c mer model series.

LED ontrol
Auto, Close, All On, F r On, Ne r On re select ble ccording to the different environment
dem nds.
Fan ontrol
It is used for the f n control of the IR LED, nd you c n set it to ON, OFF, TEMP.
Switch Delay
Switch del y refers to the dwell time it t kes to d pt to the environment when the d y mode
switches to the night mode.
Heat ontrol
He t control is used for voiding the lens blur c used by the humidity entering into the intern l
of the c mer during the inst ll tion, which come to be the fog when the intern l temper ture
is quite will differ from the outside temper ture. The he t control c n w rm the c mer to fit
the cold whether better.
3.2.5 onfiguring the Patrol
Purpose:
A p trol is series of dome sc nning ctions between the preset positions. You c n c ll p trol to
sc n the scenes utom tic lly mong group of configured presets in sequence.
Steps:
1. Move the cursor to enter p trol configur tion interf ce:
MAIN MENUS > DOME SETUP> PATROLS
2. Choose the Patrol Number.
Steps:
(1) Move the cursor to PATROLS NUM nd click IRIS+ to enter edit mode.
(2) Click the up nd down direction buttons to select the number of the p trol which is to be
configured.
(3) Click IRIS+ g in to confirm nd exit edit mode of this column.
Note: You c n configure up to 4 p trols.
