Before
using the shredder, please read this manual and become familiar with the safety information,
operating instructions, and
maintenance
requirements.
Following all warnings and
instructions
inthis
manual
and
as
marked
on
the shredder.
Do
not
attempt
to
service
this
unit
by yourself. Doing
so
will
avoid the manufacturer's warranty and
may
expose
you
to
sharp cutting blades and/or high voltage electric shock
that
could
cause
serious
injury. Any
repairs must be performed by qualified
service
personnel.

Setting
up
the document shredder:
Ensure that the bin is
not
pulled
out.
1.
Connect the main plug
to
a
standard 120V volt AC socket.
Starting
the
shredder:
The sliding switch is located
on
the top side of
the
unit and
can
be set
to
four
(4) positions
1. AUTO position:

The shredding operation
starts
automatically
as
soon
as
the
paper
to
be shredded is inserted into the
feed slot,the"POWER" indicator light
turns
green.
After the shredding operation is complete, the
device
will
automatically deactivate.
REV position:
Rectifying
a
paper jam. In this
case,
the direction of the shredding operation is reversed before the
work
cycle ends in order
to
free the shredding blades. The "POWER"
indicator
light
turns
green.
Should
you
determine
that
too
much paper has been inserted and the shredding operation slows noticeably,
immediately
set
the
switch
to
this
position, also in the
event
paper
is accidentally inserted.

3. OFF position:
In order
to
empty the
waste
basket
or
in the
event
the device is
not
used
for
a
prolonged period of time,
set
the switch
to
OFF and disconnect the device from the electrical line in order
to
avoid the risk
or
injuries. The indicator light switches off.
4. Forward(FWD):
Machine will forward when switch
at
this position, The "POWER" indicator light
turns
green.

Overloading:
If
you
overload
more
than
16 sheet
paper
in
one
time, the overload
indicator
will
turn
on,
the
machine
will be
reverse
automatically, then
remove
any
excess
paper. The
overload
indicator
turn
off, The
machine
will
then
be
reset
to
either
normal
or
standby mode.
Bin Full:
If the Full basket indicator
turn
to
red,he
cutter
will stop immediately. Should this happen, then please
pull
out
the bin and dispose
the
paper
shreds,and place bin back in. The machine will then be
reset
to
either normal
or
standby
mode.
Set up:
1.
Unpack
the
shredder.
Place
the
shredder upright
on
a
level surface.
2. Make
sure
the
waste
bin is properly inserted into
the
shredder cabinet.
3. Plug the
power
cord
into
a
standard (120V )outlet. Do
not
use
an
extension cord.

Protection against paper jams and overheating:
The C227-B is equipped with a
motor
overheat
guard.
To
protect
the
machine well,
we
suggest the
user
to
operate it in this way:
work
30
minutes
then 20 minutes off. Under the following conditions, the
current
feed
to
the unit's
motor
is interrupted:
Continual operation of the shredder withmaximum capacity
for
a
prolonged period of time, e.g. longer
1.
than 30 minutes without interruption.
2. Overrunning the shredding capacity e.g. adding
more
than 16 sheets of
paper
(75g) in
one
operation
or
in the
event
the paper is
not
inserted length-wise
into
the feed slot.
Under the above-mentioned conditions, the automatic overheat guard of the
motor
is triggered,
whereupon the
current
feed
to
the device is interrupted. In such
a
case,
please take the followingsteps
Disconnect the main plug from the AC socket in
order
to
avoid the risk of serious injuries and wait
at

least 20 minutes until the overheat guard has
reset.
Now

off
excess
paper
from
the top of the shredder
or
remove
it.

Attention:
This model includes
a
built-in safety interlock mechanism which is located
on
the
front
of the shredder.
THE SHREDDER WILL NOT OPERATE WHEN THE BIN IS PULLED OUT!

shred envelopes (any window,
insulated
or
with glued flaps),adhesive materials(labels,decals/stickers
or
glued paper), newsprint,
transparencies, laminated documents, continuous forms, cardboard,
or
hard and plastic materials
(except credit cards).
