tofatalinjuries.Thechainsawcangetenergized.Acircuitbreakercannot
protectagainstthisdanger.
-Diamondchainbreakagecanresultinhigh‐speedejectionofparts,whichcan
resultindeathorseriouspersonalinjurytooperatorsorbystanders.Theitems
listedbelowarecriticaltominimizingtheriskofdiamondchainbreakageand
injury.

chainsaw.
-Thestaticsofthebuildingarenotcompromisedbecauseofthecutopenings.
-Nodamageisdoneontheothersideoftheconcretewhencuttingthrough.
-Checkwiththeforemanresponsiblethatallnecessaryprecautionshavebeen
performedbeforecommencingwork.Awaittheapprovalofthesafety
precautionsandpositionofthemachinefromtheforemanbeforeworkis
commenced.
-Safetyandhealthregulationsattheworkplacemustbefollowed.
-Noworkshouldbecommencedwhichcannotbejudgedtobesafe.Alwaysuse
commonsenseandgoodworkingpractice.

WEARSAFETYEQUIPMENT
-Allpersonsworkingwith,orintheproximityofthemachineshouldwear
safetyequipment,i.e.protectionhelmet,protectionshoes,gloves,eyeandear
protectorsandlongpants.
-Thenoiselevelduringcuttingmightleadtopermanenthearingdisordersifear
guardsarenotworn.
-Findoutwhatmaterialiscutandwearappropriatedustmaskorrespirator
protectionifnecessary.
-Avoidloosefittingclothing.
MOUNTACCORDINGTOTHEINSTRUCTIONS
-Beforeanykindofserviceincludingchaintensioning,onthemachineis
commenced,themachinemustalwaysbedisconnectedfromtheelectric
powersupply.
-Neverstartthesawunlesstheguidebar,diamondchainandsidecover
areproperlyinstalled.
CUTTING
-FollowtheinstructionsforcuttinginChapter5.
-Donotrunthesawupside‐down.Concretedebriscanflybackintothe
operator’sface.
-Alwaysoperatethesawwithsolidfootingandwithbothhandsfirmlygripping
thehandle.Donotstandonaladderwhenusingthesaw.

-Alwaysliftthetoolergonomicallycorrectandinasafeway.

Placethebarontothestudsandthechain
adjustmentpin.

Turnthechain‐tensioningscrewcounter
clockwiseuntilthebarcomesintocontactwith
thedrivesprocket.
STEP4
Mountthechainonthebarstartingatthe
drivesprocket&continueoverthebar
nose.

-TheHF‐powerpackandHF‐chainsawhavetobedrainedfromwaterin
subzerotemperatures.TheHF‐chainsawisselfdrainingifputonaflat
surfacewiththechainsidedownandwiththewaterhoseopen.
-Insufficientwatersupplywillresultinexcessiveweartothechain,which
canleadtolossofstrengthandchainbreakage,and/ordamagetothe
guidebarnosesprocket.
CoolingwaterissuppliedthroughtheHF‐drivesystemtothePentruderCW630.
ThePentruderCW630isequippedwithanefficientelectricmotorcoolingsystem.Atleast4litres/minute(1gpm)of
coolwaterisrequiredtokeepthetemperaturedownwhenmaximumpowerisused
PleaserefertotheOperator’sManualforthePentruderHF‐drivesystembeingusedforinformationregardingwater
flow,pressure,etc.fortheHF‐powerpack.
Adequatewatersupplyandpressure
Minimumflow:4lpm(1gpm)
Minimumwaterpressure:1.5bar(20psi)
CorrectChainTension
Allchainshaveatendencyto
stretchwhenused.Diamondchainsstretch
morethanwoodcuttingchainsbecauseofthe
abrasivematerialstheyarecutting.
Ifthechainistootight,alotofthesaw'spower
goesintoturningthechainratherthanintothe
cut.Inextremeover‐tightenedcases,thesaw
maynotbeabletoturnthechainatall.In
addition,damagecanoccurtothebarnoseand
prematurestretchmayoccur.
ChainTooLoose
Ifthechainistooloose,itcouldcomeoffthe
bar.
Whenachainstretchestoapointwherethe
drivelinksarehangingapproximately12mm
(1/2in)to18mm(3/4in)belowthebar,itis
timetotensionthechain.

Ensureproperchaintension:Thechainshouldbeeasilypulledaroundtheguidebarbyhand.
Ensureallsafetydevicesareproperlymountedandfunctionalandthatallcontrolsareinproperworking
order.
Besuretherearenoobstructions(plumbing,electricalconduit,airducts,etc.)andnounnecessarypeople
present.
Alwayswearprotectiveclothing,includinghardhat,eyeprotection,hearingprotection,non‐slipsafety
boots,gloves.Avoidwearingloosefittingclothing.
Planningthecut

Outlinethecutwithapermanentmarkerforavisualcuttingguide.
Avoidpinchingtheguidebaranddiamondchain.Alwayscutthebottomofanopeningfirst,thentop,and
thenthesides.Savetheeasiestcutforlast.
Forthestraightestcutsusethe“StepCut”method.Firstscoretheentirecutlineapproximately
12mm(1/2in)deepusingthenoseoftheguidebar.Next,deepenthecutbyabout50mm(2in).Then
plungeallthewaythroughandcompletethecutusingtheWallWalker®.
Warning!
-Besurecutconcretecannotfallandinjureoperatororbystanders.
Concreteisveryheavy,onecubicfoot=30cmx30cmx30cm=68kg
(12inx12inx12in=150lbs).
-Checkforliveelectricalwiringnearthecuttingareaorintheconcreteto
avoidelectrocution.

Thewaterflowwillbeswitchedonautomaticallyaslongasmotorisrunning.
Tostopthemotor(chain),releasethetrigger.Thewaterflowwillbeswitchedoffautomaticallyafter15

Important!
-Toavoidoverheating,theHF‐motorwillbeswitchedoffautomaticallyifthe
motorwindingtemperatureisover140°C(284°F).Thecoolantwatershould
thenbeleftrunningthroughtheHF‐powerpackandHF‐chainsawtoavoid
terminaloverheating.
-IfthewateristurnedoffimmediatelyaftertheHF‐motorhasbeenswitchedoff
automatically,forinstanceduetooverloadandthewarninglightison,terminal
damagetothemotorwindingsmayoccur.

Tostartacut,holdtriggerandslowlyplungethenoseoftheguidebarstraightinto
thewall.UsethefixedWallWalker®asapivotpointandpullupontherearhandletorotatetheguidebar
intothecut.
Alwaysoperatethesawatfullspeed.Iftoomuchforceisapplied,thesawwilllugorstall.Thechainwillnot
haveenoughspeedtocuteffectively.Iftoolittlefeedforceisapplied,thediamondswillskidandglazeover.
Forstraightercutsusethe“StepCut”method.Firstscoretheentirecutlinewiththenoseoftheguidebar
approximately12mm(1/2in)to25mm(1in)deep.Next,deepenthecutbyabout50mm(2in).This
groovewillhelpguidetheguidebarforastraightcut.Thenplungeallthewaythroughandcompletethecut
usingtheWallWalker®.
UsetheWallWalker®tohelpcutmoreefficientlyandreduceoperatorfatigue.TheWallWalker®isafulcrum
thatconvertsinwardforcetodownwardforceandwilldevelopa4‐to‐1mechanicaladvantage.Touse
correctly,plungeintothewallandsimplyengagethepointoftheWallWalker®intothecutandpush
straightin.TheWallWalker®willforcethesawtofeeddown.

ApplyupwardforceonthetriggerhandletokeeptheWallWalker®engagedproperly,otherwise
theWallWalker®spikewillskid,whichwillreducetheeffectiveness.Asthesawbeginstorotateup,feed
forceisdevelopeddownthelineoftheintendedcut.Oncethesawisfullyrotatedupwards,pullthesawout
ofthecutafewinchesandre‐engagetheWallWalker®tothewallandrepeat.
Whencuttingrebar,slowlyrockthesawsothatyou’realwayscuttingconcreteaswellassteel.Thiswillhelp
keepthediamondsexposed.Also,expectlesschainlifewhencuttingrebar.
Expectmorechainstretchandguidebarwearwhenmaking“noseburied”cutsforextendedperiodsof
time,asthechaindoesnothaveachancetothrowtheslurryawayfromthenoseoftheguidebar.
Ifthesawbeginstocutconsistentlycrooked,turntheguidebaroverandusetheotherside.Dressworn
railswithbeltsander.
Note:Thenormallifeofaguidebaristwotothreediamondchains.
Rebarcanshortenguidebarlife.
Whenusinganewchain,youcanincreasethecuttingspeedbyopeningupthediamondsbymakingafew
cutsinanabrasivematerialsuchasabrick.

precautionsthatshouldalwaysbefollowedwhenusingPowerGritchain.
Warning!
-Beforecutting,makesurethepipeisinasafeconditionto
becut.Supporttheworkpieceinsuchawaythatthecutremainsopen
duringthecuttingoperationandwhenthecutisfinished.Pinchingthe
chainduringthecutcouldcausechainbreakageandcouldresultindeath
orseriousinjurytotheoperator.
-IfusingthepipeclampaccessoryfromICS®,theclampmustbeattached
insuchawaythatitdoesnotmoveduringthecuttingoperationand/or
whenthecutisfinished.Unexpectedmovementoftheclampcouldcause
lossofcontrolofthesawandcouldresultindeathorseriousinjurytothe
operator.

Removeguidebarandchain.Flushoutthechaintensionerandsidecoverwithwater.Lubricatetensioner
withgrease.
Aftercleaningthesaw,spraytheentiresawbody,chain,guidebar,anddrivesprocketwithlightweightoil.
Usinglightweightoilonthesawwillminimizerustandhelpreduceslurrybuildup.

aroundtheguidebarbyhand.Itisnormalforthediamondchainlinkstohang
belowtheguidebar.
POORCUTTINGSPEEDDiamondsmaybeglazedover.Makeafewcutsinanabrasivematerialto
exposethediamonds.
PREMATURECHAINSTRETCH
Notenoughwaterpressure.Theminimumwaterpressurerequiredis1.5bar
(20psi).Insufficientwatersupplymayresultinexcessiveweartothediamond
