INTRODUCTION
GENERAL
Keep this owner’s manual handy, so you can refer to it at any time. This owner’s
manual is considered a permanent part of the Smart Frog Air Conditioner and should
remain with the unit if resold.
Your system contains refrigerant R-410A, an environmentally friendly
refrigerant, which operates at high pressure. Do not adjust or handle
refrigerant unless you are an EPA-Certified technician.
Do not handle high-voltage electrical wires unless properly trained.
Installation should be done in accordance with local and national
building, electrical, gas codes.
Important!

INSTALLATION GUIDE
UNPACK UNIT
S
Remove packaging carefully to insure that no damage has been done to the unit
during shipping.
REMOVING THE GENERATOR
The PGC generator in the Smart Frog AC is 200lbs. It’s recommended that the
generator be taken out before installation. Once the unit is set on its permanent
location the generator can be placed back in the unit. To remove the generator,
follow our video tutorial at: https://youtu.be/1AgqgRh75dI
After the generators removal, move the unit to permanent location of installation.

AIR CONDITIONING UNIT
The Smart Frog Air Conditioning unit is built with a variable speed compressor
allowing the unit to change speed during operation. This provides a more
consistent temperature throughout your home.
Your air conditioning unit is controlled by your internal 24 Volt AC
Thermostat. Make sure your thermostat is set to Cool or Cooling for Air
Conditioner to function.
R410A refrigerant must be handled by a certified professional in accordance
with local and national code standards.

PHOTOVOLTAIC (SOLAR PANEL) INSTALLATION
(Reference-National Electric Code)
Installation and or connection of the Smart Frog should be done by a licensed and
trained professional. Solar Panels can be electrically charged when exposed to
sunlight. Connection to the Smart Frog Air Conditioner should be done by an
electrical professional.
Conditions of maintenance and supervision must ensure that qualified
persons service and operate the system.
Safeguards, documented procedures, and protective equipment are
established and maintained.
Over-voltage can cause damage to Solar Inverter! If DC voltage is greater than the
maximum input voltage of the solar inverter overvoltage damage will occur.
Solar Array Should NOT exceed 315 Volts DC for proper operation of Blending
Mode in Smart Frog Unit. If DC input voltage is greater than 315 Volts DC, the
Blending Mode function will not work properly.
When designing PV system for Smart Frog unit, ensure that all equipment
parameters conform to the Smart Frog operating parameters.
Solar panel array should be connected directly to the PV knockout and connection’s
and terminal labeled PV + - . The positive line from solar array should be connected
to (+); the negative line from solar array to (-).
Before connecting DC voltage make sure AC power voltage is zero (0).
To prevent damage to any equipment a blocking diode is recommended to be
installed before connecting to the Smart Frog unit. See Fig. 4
