1. Basics
1.1 Brief Introduction
Thank you for choosing the Phenom Watch Phone. Please read the user manual
before operating the Phenom Watch Phone.
This color touch screen Watch Phone includes functions such as GSM/GPRS
internet, multi language input, handwriting input, business card type phone book, 64
channels polyphonic ring tones, SMS/MMS, camera, video recording, MP3/MP4
player, voice recorder, timer, alarm clock, calculator, auto turn on/off, calendar, T-
Flash card, keypad lock, and much more.
The manual has been validated and reviewed for its accurateness. The
explanations and descriptions in the manual are correct as of date published. However,
our company reserves the right to change the manual without any prior notice.
1.2 Safety Warnings and Notice Items
If your Watch Phone is lost or stolen, please immediately inform your network
operator in order to block the SIM Card Please keep the IMEI No. (Printed on the
label on the back of the Watch Phone for future reference.
To avoid misusage of your Watch Phone, please take the following safety
precautions:
-Do not expose your PIN numbers
-Do not leave the Watch Phone unattended in public places.
-Set calling limits.
1.3 Safety Instructions
Please read the safety instructions carefully before using the Watch Phone.
1.3.1 General Safety Instructions
Please use the original batteries and charger only. Using other charging
devices and batteries may result in overheating, fire, battery spillage or
explosion.
Place the Watch Phone on stable places. Do not hit the Watch Phone against
hard objects, throw, shake vigorously, or throw in fire.
Do not place the batteries, Watch Phone or charger in the micro-wave oven or
other high voltage equipment; this will cause a short circuit and may result in

fire and other serious damage.
Charge the Watch Phone in a well-ventilated environment, and keep it away
from flammable and highly explosive articles.
Avoid using the Watch Phone in places where the temperature is either too
high or too low.. Never leave the Watch Phone exposed to direct sunlight,
high humidity or dusty environments.
Keep out of reach of children.
Do not place the Watch Phone on uneven surfaces to prevent from falling.
Switch off the Watch Phone when in the vicinity of chemical plants, gas
stations and other locations containing explosive objects.
When driving, please use the hands free calling device, to ensure safety.
1.3.2 Watch Phone Instructions
Switch off the Watch Phone when boarding a plane and do not switch on the
Watch Phone during the flight. The Watch Phone has a timed on/off function;
please check the alarm clock is off in order to ensure that your Watch Phone
will not turn on automatically during the flight.
Do not use the Watch Phone in an area with a weak signal or in an area with
high precision electronic equipment. Radio wave interference may cause
malfunctioning and other problems of some electrical equipment. Be careful
when using the Watch Phone in the vicinity of fire detectors, headphones,
automatic doors, pacemakers, hearing aids and other electro-medical
equipment, as the Watch Phone may cause interference with such devices.
Do not hit the LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) against hard or sharp objects.
This will result in breakage and LCD leakage. If the LCD leakage should
come in contact with your eyes this will cause blindness, please wash your
eyes immediately and go to the nearest hospital immediately. Do not rub the
eyes
Never attempt to disassemble the Watch Phone by yourself. Contact Phenom
Communications if there are any problems with your Phenom Watch Phone.
In some cases, the Watch Phone could affect the performance of electronic
equipment in some vehicles. Please do not use the Watch Phone in such
vehicles to ensure safety.
Do not use needles, pen points and other sharp objects to press the buttons or
the touch screen; this will damage the Watch Phone.
Do not use the Watch Phone if the antenna is damaged, this may cause injury.

To avoid demagnetization, keep the handset away from magnetic items, such
as magnetic discs or credit cards. Demagnetization can result in the
malfunctioning or loss of information from items such as bank cards and
floppy discs.
Please keep any small metal objects away from the Watch Phone receiver.
When the speaker of the Watch Phone is active as it can magnetize any small
metal objects which can cause injury or damage the Watch Phone.
Keep the Watch Phone away from liquid. If the Watch Phone became wet or
developed erosion, remove the battery and contact the supplier.
1.3.3 Battery Usage Instructions
Do not dispose of batteries in fire as they may explode.
Insert and remove the battery with care. Do not force it in or press the battery
too hard otherwise this may damage the battery which will result in
overheating or fire.
Do not short-circuit the battery. Accidental short-circuiting can occur when a
metallic object such as a coin, clip, or pen causes direct connection of the
positive (+) and negative (-) terminals of the battery. (These look like metal
strips on the battery.) This might happen, for example, when you carry a
spare battery in your pocket or purse. Short-circuiting the terminals may
damage the battery or the connecting terminals.
Do not seal the battery terminals. This may result in battery damage or fire.
If the battery liquid gets into the eyes this will cause blindness. Please wash
your eyes immediately and go to the hospital. (Do not rub the eyes)
To ensure safety, do not disassemble the battery or attempt to remove any
parts of it.
The temperature range for charging the Watch Phone is 0-40. Do not
charge the battery in temperatures that are too high or too low.
If you leave the battery in hot or cold places, such as in a closed car in
summer or winter conditions, the capacity and lifetime of the battery will be
reduced. Keep the battery in environments that are between 15°C and 25°C
(59°F and 77°F). A device with a hot or cold battery may not work
temporarily, even when the battery is fully charged. Battery performance is
particularly limited in temperatures well below 0°C.
If the battery liquid gets into contact with the skin or clothes, this may cause
skin burn. If contact with skin occurs, wash the affected skin with water and

contact your doctor immediately.
Please keep the battery away from fire. Particularly, if you sense e an odd
smell from the battery or battery leakage occurs, stay away from fire.
Keep the battery away from moist places to avoid battery overheating,
erosion and smoke.
Never leave the battery exposed to direct sunlight in a vehicle.
Unplug the charger from the power point and from the device when not in
use. Do not leave a fully charged battery connected to a charger as
overcharging may shorten its lifetime. If left unused, a fully charged battery
will lose its charge over time.
Use the battery only for its intended purpose. Never use any charger or
battery that is damaged.
Do not dispose of batteries in a fire as they may explode. Batteries may also
explode if damaged. Dispose of batteries according to local regulations.
Please recycle when possible. Do not dispose as household waste.
Do not charge the battery for more than 24hrs.
1.3.4 Charger Safety Instructions
Please use 120V current in the United States and 220V current in Europe.
Using another voltage can cause fire, damage the Watch Phone and charger.
Do not short circuit the charger. This might cause electric shock and smoke.
Do not use the charger if the wire was damaged. This could cause fire and
electric shock.
Please keep the charger clean.
Keep the charger away from water, avoid overheating the charger.
If the charger gets wet, immediately power down the electricity and only then,
carefully disconnect the charger from the power outlet. Make sure that your
hands are dry to avoid electric shock and fire.
Do not disassemble the charger. This could cause an electric shock, damage
the battery and cause fire.
Do not use the charger in the bathroom. This might cause an electric shock,
fire and damage the charger.
Do not touch the charger, wire and power outlet with wet hands; this could
cause an electric shock.
Do not place heavy objects on the wires; this could cause an electric shock
and fire.

Please disconnect the charger from the power outlet before cleaning the
charger.
When disconnecting the charger from the power outlet, do not pull the wire,
as this will damage the charger and cause an electric shock. Hold on to the
plug and pull slightly.
1.3.5 Cleaning and Maintenance
This Watch Phone, battery and charger are not waterproof, please do not use
them in bathrooms and other high temperature and humid locations. Also,
avoid using these devices in the rain.
Please use soft dry cloth to clean the Watch Phone, battery and charger.
Do not use liquid or damp cloth with strong detergents to clean the handset.
Please clean the power socket on time. If there is dirt in the power socket,
this might cause bad contact and the Watch Phone will not charge.
1.3.6 General Care
Please follow the instructions below: Please use the watch Watch Phone in
the conditions of 5to 40(temperature) and 35%~85% (humidity).
Please keep the Watch Phone away from televisions, radios and other
electrical equipment to avoid radio wave interference that could affect the
performance of these devices.
Battery:
Please store the batteries in a cool, dry place.
The full performance of a new battery is achieved only after two or three
complete recharge cycles. The battery can be charged and discharged
hundreds of times, however, it will eventually wear out. Replace the battery
when the talk and standby times are noticeably shorter than normal. Use only
approved batteries. Recharge your battery only with approved chargers
designated for this device.
Do not dispose of batteries in a fire as they may explode. Batteries may also
explode if damaged. Dispose of batteries according to local regulations.
Please recycle when possible. Do not dispose as household waste.
Charger:
Do not charge in temperatures lower than 5or higher than 40; in humid,
dusty, or vibrating locations. Vibration could cause malfunctioning. Also do

not charge near televisions, radios and other electrical equipment, this could
affect the image and sound quality.

2.2 Keypad Instructions
To unlock: press the “dial” key (top right) and “*” or touch the “*” on the screen.
1. Number key
Enter numbers and characters; numbers 2-9 can be set for speed dialing.
2. “Dial” key (Top right key on the right side of the Watch Phone)
It is used to dial telephone numbers and receive incoming calls; when on standby, use
it to view calling records; when locked, use this button to enter interface or to unlock.
3. “End” key (bottom right key on the right side of the Watch Phone)
The “end” key is used to end or reject a call.
4. The two keys on left side of the Watch Phone
These two are used to view names and numbers in the phonebook, SMS, MMS, and
sub-menu options; to move the cursor up and down when editing, to adjust the
volume (of the headset, the speaker phone, the keypad, the MP3 and MP4 players,
etc.).

Star Key “* “
Use the “*” key to change input language and symbols. Press and hold “*” to input
“+”
Pound Sign Key “#”
Press and hold the pound (#) key in idle screen mode to activate/deactivate the silent
mode.
2.3 Touch Screen Instructions
There are four icons on the screen (from left to right):
-Touch the first icon to enter the main menu: phonebook, SMS, calling history,
Bluetooth, music player, video player, camera, multi-media, tools, internet,
games, settings, my documents and display settings.
-Touch the second icon to enter the messages center.
-Touch the third icon to enter the phonebook list.
-Touch the fourth icon to dial phone numbers.
2.4 Battery
The new battery in the package is 50% charged and can be used. For the first 3 times,
please use up all the battery before charging the battery again and charge it until the
battery is full, this will put the battery in best using state.
Removing and installing the battery
To remove: 1) Open the back cover of the Watch Phone.
2) Lift up the battery from the bottom.
Installation: 1) Put in the battery from the top.
2) Close the back cover of the Watch Phone.
2.5 Battery Charging
Plug the charger into the power outlet.
Connect the charger to the Watch Phone.
When charging, the battery icon will keep flashing. If charging when power off, the
battery icon will still appear on the screen to indicate that the Watch Phone is being
charged. If the battery is completely discharged, it may take a few minutes before the
charging indicator appears on the display or before any calls can be made.

When the battery is completely charged, the charging process stops automatically and
the battery icon stops flashing on the screen. After the battery is completely charged,
please unplug the Watch Phone as soon as possible and disconnect the charger from
the power outlet.
Battery charging should be between 3 to 4 hours. During charging, it is normal if the
Watch Phone and charger become hotter than usual.
Note:
Temperature range for charging the Watch Phone is 0-40. Do not charge the
battery in temperatures that are either too high or too low. Using another
charger may be dangerous and will not be covered by warranty.
When the Watch Phone turns off automatically or indicates “battery low”, please
charge the battery.
Note: Actual operation time of the battery varies according to operation mode,
network settings and call settings.
Please insert the battery properly, as it cannot be removed or reinstalled while the
Watch Phone is charging.
gDisconnect the charger and the Watch Phone from electricity after charging is
complete. If the Watch Phone is not disconnected, in 5 to 8 hours the battery will
discharge and the Watch Phone will begin to charge again. This would damage
the battery.
2.6 Getting Started
2.6.1 SIM card
What is a SIM card?
The SIM card, or Subscriber Identity Module, securely stores your service subscriber
key.
With the SIM card, which stores many parameters required for communication, you
can use the various functions of the Watch Phone, i.e., store personal information,
including PIN (Personal Identification Number), phonebook, messages and other

additional system services. Please handle the SIM card with care. Twisting or pressing
may cause damage. If it is lost, please contact your network operator immediately for
assistance.
Note: A SIM card can be easily damaged if its metal contacts become scratched.
Therefore, take special care when holding or inserting it and keep it away from
children.
Warning: Turn off the Watch Phone before removing the SIM card. It is prohibited to
insert or remove the SIM card when an external power supply is connected, as the
SIM card will be damaged.
2.6.2 Inserting and Removing the SIM card
To remove the SIM card, turn the Watch Phone off, remove the battery and then
remove the SIM card.
To insert the SIM card, remove the battery and insert the SIM card in the slot.
2.6.3 Power On and Off
Press and hold the “end” key for a few seconds to turn the Watch Phone on or off.
If you turn on the Watch Phone without the SIM card, the Watch Phone will indicate
“Insert SIM card”. When you insert the SIM card, the Watch Phone will check
whether the SIM card is valid. If it is valid, you will need to type in the PIN number.
2.6.4 PIN Number and SIM Card Unlocking
- PIN
The PIN, or Personal Identification Number, is used to access your SIM card. If the
PIN protection function has been enabled, the screen will display “Enter PIN” when
the Watch Phone is switched on.
You can get the PIN code (which usually has four digits) while obtaining the SIM
card from your network provider. During the input of the PIN code, the screen will
display “*” symbols to conceal your PIN code.
- PIN2
PIN2 is the Personal Identification Number required when you use specific functions
provided by the network, such as your account information, etc.

Warning: If you input the wrong PIN three consecutive times, the SIM card will be
locked. Please contact your network operator immediately for unlocking instructions.
Attempting to unlock by yourself may result in the SIM card's permanent failure. A
SIM card cannot prevent the illegal use of the Watch Phone.
Press “end” key for a few seconds to turn the Watch Phone on.
Enter the PIN code and clear the error with the touch pen, then press “confirm”
For example, if the PIN is set as 1234, then just enter 1234
Notice: Your network providers will set a standard PIN (4-8 numbers) for
your SIM card, you should change it to your own PIN as soon as possible.
To prevent illegal use of your Watch Phone, the Watch Phone has a PIN (Personal
Identification Number) for protection. When you select this option, every time you
turn on the Watch Phone, you should enter the PIN code. For example, if the PIN is
set as 1122, then enter 1122 and press confirm You can then unlock the Watch Phone
and send or receive calls. Users can remove the PIN, however, in such circumstances
you cannot prevent unauthorized individuals from using your Watch Phone. If you
forget your Watch Phone PIN code, please contact your local Watch Phone retailer or
network operator.
2.6.6 Connecting to the Network
When the SIM Card is unlocked, the Watch Phone will search for an available
network. Once the network is found, the network provider's name will appear in the
center of the screen.
Note: “Emergency Only” on the display indicates that there is no network
coverage and that you are still able to make emergency calls.
2.6.7 Dialing
When the network operator's logo appeared on the screen, you can make or receive
calls. The icon on the upper left corner of the screen indicates the signal strength of
the network.
2.6.8 Domestic Calls
Please first enter the area code and then the phone number to be dialed out.

2.6.10 International Calls
Press and hold the "*" key until "+" appears, and enter the country code, area code
and phone number.
2.6.11 Making a Call from the Phonebook
To add a new contact in the phone book, enter a phone number in standby state, press
‘Option’, and choose ‘Save number’. After the user has selected the storage location,
the editing interface will appear. If the SIM card is selected, the user can only edit the
name and the phone number. If phone memory is selected, the editing interface will be
displayed, which includes name, number, and other options. Then press "Done" and
"Save".
The Watch Phone provides two kinds of storage media: SIM card and the Watch
Phone memory. The storage capacity of the phone is 500 entries. The storage capacity
of a SIM card depends on the type of SIM card used.
To dial a number from the phonebook, press the phone book option on the screen.
Then press “Quick search” or “Search entry”. In the list of names, pressing any
number key where the initial letter of a record resides can quickly locate the record.
For example: For a record with the name "Linda", press “L”, the current selector bar
in the list will automatically scroll to the first record with the first letter L.
Voice Inflection:
This Watch Phone has a voice inflection option (man, woman, child etc. voice.) To
change your voice, press <menu>, <settings>, <call setup>, <inflection set>,
<inflection on> and then <inflection effect> choose a voice and now when you
make a phone call, your voice will be changed.
2.6.12 Emergency Calls
If you are in the network coverage area, you will be able to make emergency calls. If
your local network provider doesn’t provide roaming services in the region,
“Emergency Only” will appear. For any additional information please contact your
local service provider.

2.6.13 Receiving Calls
To answer a phone call, press the “Answer key”. If your Watch Phone is set to “Any
key answer” then press any key to answer. If the headset is connected to the Watch
Phone you can answer a call by pressing the button on the headset. You can also
answer a call by automatic answering, in which case, after 5 seconds the headset will
be connected automatically and you can answer the phone call.
2.6.14 Calling History
The Watch Phone can save the 20 last call logs. Press the “dial” key in standby state to
display call logs. You can press the “dial” key to dial a desired number directly by
selecting it with the navigation keys.
2.6.15 Calling Menu
When making a call, press “hands free” to use a hands free device. Press “option” to
select calling options. The calling menu can be seen only during a call.
Under the calling menu, you can proceed as follows:
Hold: Hold the current call.
End: End the current call.
New Call: Input a phone number and make another call.
Phone Book: For detailed information please refer to the section about the phone
book.
SMS: To view messages.
Sound Recorder: Perform audio recording during a call.
Mute: The other party cannot hear you if this function is activated, while you can
still hear them.
DTMF: Set if you wish to enable or disable the dialing of extensions on the touch
screen.

3.1 Menu Functions
Scroll, search and select function.
1. In standby mode, press menu icon on the touch screen to open the menu.
2. Under all menus and submenus, touch the icon on the screen to open or close a
function.
Logout from the menu
Click on the small icon on the lower left with the stylus pen to close the menu or
press the end key to return back to standby status.

Additionally, there are four shortcut keys. Press the function to login menu,

message, phonebook, and dial number.
3.3 Phonebook
With this function you can store names, phone numbers, home telephone numbers,
and company telephone numbers. You can view the phonebook by selecting the
phonebook icon in the menu or by touching phonebook icon when the Watch Phone is
in standby mode. This Watch Phone is able to store 500 phone numbers.
In the phonebook, you can see options such as quick search, search entry, add new
entry, delete all, copy all, caller group, my vCard, etc.
■Quick search: To dial a number from the phonebook press the phone book option
on the screen. Then press “Quick Search” or “Search Entry”. In the list of names,
pressing any number key with the initial letter of a record can quickly locate the
record. For example: For a record with the name "Linda", press “L”, the current
selector bar in the list will automatically scroll to the first record with first letter L.
■Search entry: Enter the name of the contact or first letter of the name, then
press “option” and then press “search”.
■Add new entry: To add a new contact in the phone book, enter a phone number in
standby state and press ‘Option’, then choose ‘Save Number’. After you have selected
the storage location, the editing interface will appear. If the SIM card is selected, the
user can only edit the name and the phone number. If phone memory is selected, the

■Deleting a contact: To delete a contact from the SIM card; choose a contact, press
“delete” and then “yes” to confirm deleted.
■Copy all: ‘Copy All’ allows you the user to copy all contacts from the Watch Phone
to the SIM card or from the SIM card to the Watch Phone.
■Incoming call group: The Watch Phone provides five incoming call groups. You
are able to change the name, ring tone, picture, animation and group
member’s personal settings of any group.
■E-card: To edit or send your contact information.
■Settings: Volume search, storage location, and entry settings.
Memory status: Displays how much space is used in the phonebook,
the SIM card and the Watch Phone.
Preferred Storage: Select the preferred storage location, on the SIM
card or the Watch Phone.
