TV GUIDE PLUS+™PROGRAMMING This multi-
facet feature captures and automatically downloads
advanced programming information including on-
screen all channel review, program summaries,
sorting by category (sports, movies, etc.), and
revolutionary point & tune and point & record
functions (microchip storage capacity and channel
availability determine volume of downloaded data).
TWO-TUNER PIP Now you can enjoy all the
benefits of Smart Window™PIP without a VCR! With
two separate tuners (and two separate tuner inputs)
you can tune to your favorite show with tuner one,
for example, while scanning other channels with
tuner two in the PIP window. The A/V inputs are
also available as PIP sources so all functions of
standard PIP are still accessible. The main and
secondary pictures may be swapped; position
secondary pictures in any screen corner; even freeze
the main picture information and put it into the inset
picture. In all cases, the main picture is provided with
its corresponding audio. A “size select” menu
function permits the viewer to reduce the size of the
inset picture by approximately 50%.
FRONT A/V JACKS For fast, easy connection of
external video sources (VCR, Camcorder, or Video
Games) nothing beats Front Audio/Video Input Jacks.
Simply plug connecting cables from the device into
the well-defined inputs and the sensor jacks
automatically place the large screen in the A/V mode,
ready to go.

INCREDIBLE SURROUND™WITH BUILT-IN 25-
WATT SURROUND SOUND PACKAGE AND SIX
SPEAKERS An exciting psycho-acoustic method of
widening the stereo spatial image with all the benefits
of surround sound but none of the wiring or speaker
placement hassles. With six speakers built-in, this
large screen envelopes listeners in exceptional sound
quality right out of the box (12.5 watts RMS per
channel into 8 Ohms, from 50Hz to 20kHz, with no
more than 0.5% Total Harmonic Distortion).
DBX®HI-FI STEREO SOUND SYSTEM The stereo
sound system built into this large screen TV utilizes
two 6'' woofers, two 2'' tweeters, and two 4''x6'' oval
surround sound speakers. Its built-in MTS/SAP
decoder permits reception and reproduction of
broadcast stereo television programs as well as
Second Audio Program transmissions (where
available). It also features bass boost for enhanced
low frequency reproduction and individual bass, treble
and balance controls for personal listening preference.
dbx®noise reduction eliminates hiss and high-
frequency interference.
fSMARTSOUND™ When activated, SmartSound™
keeps volume levels constant between programs and
commercials, and from one channel to another.
SmartSound™constantly monitors the audio signal,
reducing a signal that’s too loud and increasing a
signal that’s too weak.
TRUE SURROUND SOUND Experience the full
three-dimensional effect of a live musical performance
or theater with true surround, not just matrix
surround. The front left and right speakers contain
directional sounds creating stereo spread (or what’s
known as the wall of sound), as well as other
important effects that help “steer” the audio more
realistically to the listener’s ears. The rear speakers
help to re-create the reflective ambience of the
original room in which the audio was recorded. They
generate short echoes and delays that help make the
entire audio experience more lifelike.

electron beam tracing the picture at points just
prior to and following transitions from light to

silvered” imaging mirror to eliminate light
