IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
CAREFULLY READ THE INSTRUCTIONS AND WARNINGS IN
THIS MANUAL AND KEEP THEM FOR FURTHER REFERENCE.
THEY SUPPLY IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS REGARDING OP-
ERATIONS AND SAFETY FOR INSTALLING, USING AND MAIN-
TAINING THE PRODUCT.
Due to hot parts and potential hazards
the appliance is not suitable for the use
of children under 8 years old. Even when
o please keep the appliance and cord
out of the reach of children. Children
over 8 must be supervised by an adult
at all times when using or cleaning the
appliance. This is not a toy!
The appliance can be used by persons
with reduced physical, sensory or men-
tal capabilities if they have been given
supervision and instruction and under-
stand the use and hazards involved.
Follow basic safety precautions, including:
1After unpacking, make sure that the ap-
pliance is intact with no signs of damage
caused by transport. If in doubt, do not
use the appliance and contact the dealer.
2 Before connecting the appliance, make
sure that its rating corresponds to that of
the power supply. The rating label is on the
bottom of the appliance.
3 Do not use this appliance for any other
purpose than intended household use.
Switch o the power supply after you
stop using the appliance.
4This appliance should not be used out-
doors.
5 If a crack appears on the heating plate,
switch o the power supply immediately
and do not use the appliance.
6 The appliance is designed only for heating
and cooking food and must be used only
when cookware is placed on it.
7 Do not immerse the appliance in any
liquid.
8 Cookware should not be larger than the
hot plate.
9 Do not touch the surface of the hot plate
when the appliance is in use. The tempera-
ture of surface may be high when the
appliance is operating.
10 Do not allow the cord to touch the hot sur-
face of the hot plate.
11 Do not leave the appliance unattended
when heating oil.
12 Close supervision is necessary when the
appliance is used by or near children.
13 Before carrying out any cleaning or
maintenance, disconnect the appliance
from the mains by removing the plug.

14 The appliance must be cooled down com-
pletely before storing.
15 If the cord is damaged and needs replace-
ment, it must be replaced by the manu-
facturer’s service agent or similarly quali-
ed technician in order to avoid hazard.
16 The appliances are not intended to be ope-
rated by means of an external timer or se-
parate remote-control system.

BEFORE FIRST USE
WARNING! PLEASE ENSURE THAT
THE APPLIANCE IS IN SAFE AND SECURE
POSITION BEFORE USING.
POSITIONING
1 Put the appliance on a stable, level surface.
2 Route the cable so it does not overhang,
and cannot be tripped over or caught.
USING THE HOT PLATE
1 Before using your hot plate for the rst
time, turn the heat controller to the
highest setting (position 5) for 3 to 5 min-
utes to protect the coating. This should be
done when there is no cookware on the
hot plate.
2 Switch the appliance on by turning the
heat controller . When the indicator
light turns on, the appliance is in use.
3 Turn the heat controller to the required
position (1-lowest temperature, 5-max. tem-
perature, OFF-switched o), to achieve the
desired temperature. The indicatior light
will turn o when the hot plate reaches
the selected temperature which will be
maintained.
4 When not in use, ensure that the heat
controller is in the OFF position and dis-
connected from the power outlet.
5 Some requirements of the cooking utensils:
a) For the most ecient use, the cooking
utensil should have a solid base that
are as even as possible.
b) The cookware base diameter should
be smaller than the diameter of the hot
plate.
c) Do not use cookware with convex, con-
cave or an uneven bottom.
CARE & MAINTENANCE
1 Disconnect the plug from the socket.
2 Clean the appliance with a soft cloth.
Avoid using abrasive cleaners.
WIRING INSTRUCTIONS - UK PLUGS ONLY
The product must be earthed.
It has a 13A BS1362 fuse in a
13A BS 1363 plug. To replace
the plug, t the green-yellow
wire to or E, blue wire to
N and the brown wire to L. Fit
the cord grip. If in doubt, call
an electrician. Do not use a non-wireable plug
unless the fuse cover is in place. If you re-
move the plug, dispose of it.
ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION
To avoid environmental and health
problems due to hazardous substan-
ces in electrical and electronic goods,
appliances marked with this symbol must not
be disposed of with unsorted municipal waste,
but recovered, reused or recycled.
SERVICE
If you ring Customer Service, please have the
Model No. to hand, as we won’t be able to
help you without it. The product is not us-
er-serviceable. If it is not working, read the
instructions, check the plug fuse and main
fuse/circuit breaker. If it is still not working,
consult your retailer.
If that does not solve the problem – ring Cus-
tomer Service – they may be able to oer
technical advice. If they advise you to return
the product to us, pack it carefully, include
a note with your name, address, day phone
number, and description of the problem.
If under a warranty, say where and when it
was purchased and include proof of pur-
chase. Send it to SQ Professional Ltd.

WARRANTY
THE WARRANTY FOR THIS PRODUCT IS COVERED BY
SQ PROFESSIONAL LIMITED. ANY FAULTS WITH THIS
PRODUCT ARISING THROUGH A MANUFACTURER DE-
FECT WILL BE COVERED FOR 1 YEAR FROM THE DATE
OF PURCHASE, SUBJECT TO A VALID PROOF OF PUR-
CHASE BEING PRESENTED. THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE
FAULTS OR DAMAGE CAUSED BY MISUSE OR GENERAL
WEAR AND TEAR.
