Note: It is important that you read this manual
carefully before using the product And be sure to save
this manual for possible use later.
Note
Check if building regulations apply to your area
hereby you must have the halogen hand lamp
installed by an accredited electrician. An electrician
can give you information about correct iring. Never
install the fitting outside in rainy eather.
SWITCH OFF THE POWER BEFORE YOU INSTALL
THE HALOGEN HAND LAMP.
orrect installation
 With installation outside preferably choose a place
under a roof.
 Do not place the sensor head in direct or reflected
sunlight. The halogen hand lamp may then s itch
on hen not required. The sensor orks best ith
movement “cross ise” through the sensor's
detection field.
 Connect the halogen hand lamp to a circuit ith all
s itch.
 Unscre the stainless steel bolts on the side to take
the holder from the fitting.
 Fix the holder to the all ith 2 scre s. Do not fix
the holder to a highly flammable surface. Leave a
distance of at least 1 m bet een the halogen hand
lamp and the object to be illuminated. (see fig. 2)
Install the halogen hand lamp at least 2.5 m above
the ground. (see fig.1)

 CAUTION: There is an “UP” arro on the inside of
the holder. The arro must point up ards hen you
mark the position of the holes.

 Pull the po er supply ires through the opening
ith the rubber packing.
 Connect the electric iring according to figures 4
and 5.
 The halogen hand lamp must be connected to
mains voltage of 230V, max. fusing 16A.

 Scre the cable connection cover tight again.
 Al ays respect the instructions on the identification
label of the connected po er cables.
 Other uses than described above can cause
damage to the product and increase the risk of
short-circuit, fire, electric shocks, etc.
 The product may not be adapted as a hole. The
safety instructions must be strictly observed.
Safety instructions
 The importer accepts no responsibility for damage
claims ith respect to objects or persons that result
from incorrect use or non-compliance ith the
safety instructions. Any damage claims in such
cases ill be declared null and void.
 When replacing the halogen bulb the lamp must
first have cooled before the bulb is replaced. Also
disconnect the po er supply. Do not exceed the
maximum attage of 300W.
 CAUTION: Never touch the bulb ith your fingers.
Touching the bulb ith your fingers can reduce the
life of the bulb.
 Al ays replace cracked or broken glass by glass
ith the same properties as the original glass.

 Sensor range: 12 - 15 meters at ith 25°C.
 Lighting time: +/- 10 sec. – 10 min.
Setting the functions
1) Setting the lighting time (TIME)
With this adjusting knob you can set the period of the
light staying on after s itching on. You can set the
time from 10 sec. to 10 min.
2) Setting the light intensity (LUX)
With the LUX S itch you adjust the orking of the
sensor to match the intensity of the ambient light.
If the arro is pointing to the sun the sensor responds
in both daylight and at night. If the arro is pointing to
the moon the sensor ill only respond at night. In
bet een the sensor responds in half-light.
ontinuous function
With this function you can allo the lamp to stay on
continuously (the sensor then no longer orks).
To do this, s itch the s itch on hich the fitting is
connected, on-off-on for 1 second. The lamp ill no
stay on continuously. To turn off the continuous
function, s itch the s itch on hich the fitting is
connected to, off for 30 seconds and then on again.
Maintenance
 Only use a dry, soft cloth for cleaning the halogen
hand lamp. And make sure that the lamp has first
cooled.
 Never immerse the lamp in ater.
 Maintenance and repairs may only be carried out by
technicians ho are familiar ith any applicable
regulations.
Guarantee conditions
The guarantee period for PLI-172 amounts to 2 years
and commences on the date of purchase. During the
guarantee period ELTRA nv ill repair any defects
attributable to material or production faults. ELTRA
NV may choose to either repair or replace a defective
appliance.
ELTRA NV is not obliged to repair or replace
appliances if they have become defective as a result
of damage, inappropriate use, or modifications or
adaptations made after the purchase date.
Take any defective appliance together ith the
original receipt back to the shop here the appliance
as sold. Al ays add a note ith a description of the
problem.
Damage
ELTRA NV can under no circumstances hatsoever
be held responsible for damage of hatever nature if
the appliance as not correctly installed according to
the specified installation instructions, nor for damage
as a result of unforeseen circumstances such as
natural disasters, lightening strike, etc. All such
resulting costs are consequently at the expense of
the buyer and are not covered by the guarantee
conditions.
