User manual
Summary
Working based on HSDPA/UMTS/EDGE/GPRS/GSM network and GPS, RV301 can anti-theft, locate, monitor
and provide urgent service to remote targets. It is featured with compact and use-easy characteristics and mainly
used for monitoring, locating and tracking the car, the ship, the train and other mobile vehicles.
At the same time, it supports data transmission, making it available for wide-area monitor, fleet management,
urgent dispatch, traffic safety management and many other different fields.

*Power Wires connection
1) 4P power red wire connects to vehicle power positive +
2) 4P power black wire connects to vehicle power negative -
3) 4P power yellow wire connects to fuel pump or electricity control wires
4) 4P power green wire connects to ACC ignition wire
5) Other wires connecting to relative accessories in package. If press the SOS button 3-4 s, device will reply
“SOS alarm!”to authorized number.
*Installation attentions
NOTE: Device front side towards the sky.
Installation: If the windshiedl is glued by metal thermal insulation layer or heating layer, it will reduce the GPS
receive signal and lead to GPS work disorder.
*USIM card installation
Insert the USIM card into the slot according to the sign direction shown on the unit.
SMS must be in plain text.
*Power ON.
6. Setting
6.1 Initiation
Send “#begin#password#”in SMS to the unit, it will reply “System Recover successfully”and initialize all the
settings. (default password: 1234)
6.2 Change the password
6.2.1 Send SMS“#password#old password #new password#”to change the password.
After sending successfully the unit will reply with “The password has been successfully changed. The new
password is ****”.
6.2.2 Make sure keep the new password in mind, you have to upload the software to restore the original setting
in case of losing the new password.
6.2.3 Make sure the new password is in 4 digits, or else the tracker can not recognize the password.

6.3Authorization
Max five numbers authorized.
6.3.1 Set up master
Send SMS“#master#”，It will make the cell phone number as the authorized number automatically. If set
successfully, the unit will reply：“welcome use 3G GPS tracker ,the password is 1234”
6.3.2 change master：send SMS “#newmaster#the administrator’s number ( which want to change)#”, if the
number is successfully authorized, the unit will reply “The new master number have been successfully, the
new number is ********.”
6.4 Data transfer channel setting:
Generally, users don’t need to set the server parameter before use, as the factory has set the right server
parameter. If your RV301 can’t connect to server, you can do following operation:
6.4.1 Set an IPaddress and port:
Send SMS “#adminip #IP address #port# ”
eg. #adminip # 123.183.217.198#8888# ”
If setup succeeds, the tracker will reply SMS “setting IP address, port setup successfully”.
Cancel: Send SMS #delip# to cancel the setting：It will reply “IP address delete successfully”.
6.4.2 SetAPN (access point name)
Send SMS“#apn#APN CONTENT#”, For example: send SMS“#apn#3gnet#, 3gnet is china 3G network
provider access point name.
as soon as APN are set up, the unit will reply with SMS“APN setting successfully”.
6.4.3 LTE /HSDPA/ GPRS Mode ON/OFF
LTE /HSDPA/ GPRS Mode ON: send SMS "#smgp#0#" to set up GPRS mode if you use software of
monitoring center on PC.
Send SMS "#smgp#1#" for LTE (HSDPA/ GPRS) Mode OFF.
7. Cautions
* Keep the unit dry. Any liquid, i.e. rain, moisture, may destroy or damage the inside circuitry.
* Don’t use or store the unit in a dusty place.
*Don’t put the unit in an overheated or overcooled place.
*Handle carefully. Don’t vibrate or shake it violently.
5. Clear the unit with a piece of dry cloth. Don’t clean it with chemicals or detergent.
6. Don’t paint on the unit.
7. Don’t disassemble or refit the unit.

Problem

Fail to start
Check whether the battery is installed correctly and the battery status.
Network free signal
Check whether the SIM card is inserted correctly.
Fail to connect to the server
Check whether the IP address and APN are set correctly.
Fail to locate
Open the equipment in the outdoor.
