6” Recording Picture Frame
Your RadioShack Dual 4” ×6” Recording Picture Frame has separate
recording and play buttons for added convenience. You can record
and play back up to 10 seconds of sound to accompany each of your
favorite pictures. Its recorder uses the latest integrated circuit record-
ing technology, so you can record a new message as many times as
you like without having to wait for a tape to rewind. You can choose a
horizontal or vertical display of the frame.
REMOVING THE BATTERY INSULATION
STRIP
To prevent battery drain during shipping, your recording picture frame
is shipped with an insulation strip that you must remove before use. To
remove the strip, firmly grasp the slip by its end and gently pull it out.
FRAMING A PICTURE
1. Open the picture frame.
2. Place the picture frame vertically on a flat surface then press the
button on the top of the picture frame to pop out the inner picture
frame.
3. Turn the inner picture frame over and slide down the metal plate
until its six slots align with the six holding tabs on the back of the
inner frame. Then lift off the metal plate. Remove the sample pic-
ture.
4. To frame a 3” ×5” picture, place it on the silver framed plate.
To frame a 4” ×6” picture, slide off the silver framed plate and
place the picture in the frame, then slide the silver framed plate
from the bottom of the picture frame all the way up until it stops.
5. Position the metal plate with its two convex ribs facing up, then
align its six slots with the six holding tabs on the picture frame and
push the plate all the way up until it stops.
Note: If you do not push the metal plate all the way up, it is diffi-
cult to replace the picture frame snugly onto its holder in the next
step.
6. Insert the inner picture frame’s three locking tabs into the match-
ing slots on the bottom of its holder, then press the top of the inner
frame down until it clicks securely into place.
7. Repeat Steps 2–6 for the other inner picture frame.
RECORDING A MESSAGE
Follow these steps to record a 10-second message for each picture
frame.
1. Open the picture frame and hold it about 6 inches (15 cm) away
from your mouth or the sound source.
2. Use the tip of a pen (or other pointed object) to hold down REC.
The recording indicator lights and recording begins.
3. Speak into MIC. After 10 seconds, recording stops automatically
and the recording indicator goes off. To stop recording sooner,
release REC.
Repeat these steps to record a new message. The new message re-
places the old one.
PLAYING THE MESSAGE
Press PLAY to listen to the message. When playback finishes, the re-
cording indicator flashes once.
PLACING THE PICTURE FRAME
You can place the picture frame vertically or horizontally on a desk,
shelf, or table.
To place the picture vertically
, open and extend the picture frame, then
place it on a flat surface.
To place the picture horizontally
, open the picture frame as far as it
can go, then place the picture frame on a flat surface.
REPLACING BATTERIES
Your recording picture frame comes with four type 357A alkaline but-
ton-cell batteries installed. When the sound weakens, replace the bat-
teries. For the best performance and longest battery life, we
recommend RadioShack alkaline batteries. The recorder continues to
store the recorded message even if it loses battery power.
Warnings:
• Keep button-cell batteries away from children. Swallowing a but-
ton-cell battery can be fatal.
• Dispose of old batteries promptly and properly. Do not burn or
bury them.
Cautions:
• Use only fresh batteries of the required size and recommended
type.
• Do not mix old and new batteries, different types of batteries
(standard, alkaline, or rechargeable), or rechargeable batteries of
different capacities.
1. Use a mini Phillips screwdriver to remove the two screws on the
battery compartment cover on the hinge’s back, then lift off the
cover.
2. Remove the old batteries. Place the fresh batteries in the com-
partment as indicated by the polarity symbols (+ and –) marked
inside.
3. Replace the cover and secure it with the screws.

CARE
Keep the frame dry; if it gets wet, wipe it dry immediately. Use and
store the frame only in normal temperature environments. Handle the
frame carefully; do not drop it. Keep the frame away from dust and dirt,
and wipe it with a damp cloth occasionally to keep it looking new.
Modifying or tampering with the frame’s internal components can
cause a malfunction and might invalidate its warranty. If your frame is
not performing as it should, take it to your local RadioShack store for
assistance.
