READ ME BEFORE USE!
Relio² is a high performance, ultra-high CRI (Color Rendering Index) LED light powered
via USB. It is devised to be used as a portable or static illuminator, for domestic and
professional use.
Please read the online manual ( www.relio.it/manual ) before first use. Relio² contains
parts that need to be assembled according to the instructions provided. Incorrect as-
sembling or handling may cause damage to the device and its accessories that is not
covered by warranty. The online manual may contain updated information, additional
guidance or important warnings.

• Do not stare directly into the beam or at the powered bare LED emitter without any
lens installed. Serious eye damage may occur.
• The Relio² UV variant emits Ultra-violet radiation at 395nm and is aimed for techni-
cal or scientific uses. Do not stare directly or indirectly into the beam and in any case
do not stare at the bare UV LED emitter. Irreversible damage to the eyes may occur.
If you intend to use Relio² UV for creative or recreational purposes, please make sure
you are fully aware of the dangers, scope and correct management of UV radiation
before use.
• Do not activate the “Strobo Mode” in the Relio App if you are sensible to high-fre-
quency light flashes or in the presence of people at risk of epileptic seizures.
LIGHT DANGER - WARNINGS

• Do not plug or unplug the USB connector when the upper Relio² cap is removed.
The cap keeps the electronic board in place. Applying force to the USB connector
with the cap removed may result in the elctronics board or the LED board being
damaged. Damages by inflicted strain on the electronic board or the USB connector
are not covered by warranty.
• The Relio² is engineered to work with the supplied, undamaged USB cables (either
magnetic or not) or with equivalent high-quality USB cables not longer than 3m / 10ft
that are able to carry at least 2A of current. If you notice inconsistent behaviour while
operating the Relio², please disconect the device immediately, inspect the Relio²
connector for dirt or debris, inspect the USB cable and, if necessary, use a dierent
cable. Please consult with our Technical Support in case of need.

• Some USB power banks automatically shut down when they detect that the con-
nected device stops drawing power. When you dim the Relio² light, some USB power
banks may mistakenly disconnect power and shut down. If you intend to use Relio²
at low light levels in combination with a power bank, make sure to use a power bank
that is able to supply low power levels without automatically shutting down.
• Do not operate the Relio² or any of its accessories with wet hands or in damp envi-
ronments. Do not overheat the device by powering it inside pockets, purses or small
sealed containers. Risk of burns and other injuries.
• Do not permanently install Relio² outdoors or in harsh environmental conditions, as
water or debris may enter the device and cause dangerous malfunctions.

• The device can be powered within the range of voltages and currents stated in the
Technical Specifications. Do not try to power the device with voltages or currents
above or below these limits. Device damage or personal injury may occur.
• If operating conditions are not met, or if you notice any unattended behaviour, stop
using the device and contact our techncal service for asssitance.
• Not suitable for children, unsupervised minors or impaired people, as it contains
small parts (including magnets) that may be ingested or mishandled.
• Do not touch, press or try to clean the LED emitter with any kind of wet solution.
Position the TIR lens with care, as you may damage the LED emitter by scraping it
with the bottom of the TIR lens. Damages to the LED emitter caused by mishandling
the TIR lens are not covered by warranty.

• Do not open the upper cap or swap the TIR lenses with dirty hands. Do not place
the device on bare soil or in dusty environments. Dust and debris may enter the devi-
ce and damage the LED emitter or the electronic board. Electronic damages caused
by debris, water or dirt entering the device are not covered by warranty.
• Do not place the device or the magnetic USB cable close to metal dust or ferritic
powder, as it may gather around the magnets and create a short-circuit or an irrever-
sible electrical failure. Normal wear-and-tear on the USB cable or damages caused
by ferritic debris are not covered by warranty.
• Relio² should be serviced by professionals only.

• Relio² may reach a high surface temperature (65 ºC / 149 ºF) during operation. Do
not place Relio² in close proximity to items that may be easily damaged by heat or
flammable substances.
• Relio² accessories and carrying boxes contain 3D-printed, eco-friendly, biode-
gradable plastic parts that are sensible to high temperatures. In order to preserve
their long shelf-life, do not store the Relio² boxes and 3D-printed accessories in hot
environments like car trunks, direct sunlight or environments above 60 ºC (140 ºF).
HEAT DANGER - WARNINGS
• Relio² may be supplied with optional accessories that enhance or expand its core
functionality. Always read the operating manual of each optional accessory before
use, as it contains additional safety warnings.
ACCESSORIES AND ASSEMBLY - WARNINGS

• WARNING! “Six-Pack” and “Playground” USB ports ARE NOT-STANDARD USB
PORTS and require special care when operated. Please fully read the following
warnings and notes.
• “Six-Pack” and Playground USB ports are intented to be used with Relio² devices
(2018-onwards edition) ONLY. Original Relio1 (2015-2018 edition) is NOT compatible
with “Six-Pack” and “Playground” USB ports.
• CONNECTING ANY USB PERIPHERAL DEVICE OTHER THAN RELIO² (e.g.
Smartphones, Cameras, other USB devices, including the Original 2015-2018 Relio1)
TO THESE USB PORTS WILL LEAD TO IRREVERSIBLE DAMAGE TO SAID USB
PERIPHERAL.
• Do not leave the “Six-Pack” or the “Playground” unattended, to prevent other
uninformed users from operating them incorrectly.
PLAYGROUND AND “SIX-PACK” - WARNINGS

• When lending or renting the “Six-Pack” or the “Playground”, or otherwise giving
them for other people to use, make sure that the final users are fully informed of
these warnings and notes, including the risk of damaging third-party USB peripherals
mistakenly conected to the USB ports.
• Warning labels are factory-attached to each “Six-Pack” and “Playground” device.
Removing, concealing or altering any of these labels is not recommended. If you re-
move, conceal or alter them, you are fully rsponsible of informing any final “Six-Pack”
and “Playground” user of these warnings and notes, including the risk of damaging
thirt-party USB peripherals mistakenly conected to the USB ports.
PLAYGROUND AND “SIX-PACK” - WARNINGS

• The “Playground” is a professional lab device aimed for professsional use and
requires good knowledge of electronics. The Relio Team and all its aliates are not
responsible for any incorrect use by untrained or non professional users. Please
consult with our Technical Support in case you need guidance on the correct use of
the “Playground”.
• The Relio Team and all its aliates are not responsible for any incorrect use of the
“Six-Pack” and “Playground” accessories, including any damage to third-party USB
peripherals mistakenly connected to their non-standard USB ports.
• Always store the “Six-Pack” unit with the NP-F battery completely removed, in order
to prevent over-discharge and to make the printed warning labels visible to other
users.
