WHILE OPERATING MOWER
1. Stay alert. and use commom sense.Watch
what you are doing.
2. Stay behind the handle when the motor is
running.
3. Objects struck by mower blade can cause
severe injuries to persons. The lawn should
always be carefully examined and cleared
of all objects prior to each mowing.

Be aware of extension cord while operating
mower. Be careful not to trip over extension
cord. Keep extension cord away from cutter
blades at all times.
5. Avoid unintentional starting.
• Do not carry plugged-in mower with
finger on switch.
• Be sure safety key is removed when
plugging in mower.
• Be sure bail handle is not engaged when
inserting key.
6. Do not overreach. Keep proper footing
and balance at all times when operating
mower.
7. Disconnect the mower from the power
supply and remove key
• when not in use
• before making adjustments
• before servicing or cleaning
• before lifting or transporting
• before changing accessories or blade

BEFORE OPERATING MOWER
Read the manual before operating this mower.
Be thoroughly familiar with the controls and
the proper use of your mower.
1. Avoid Dangerous Environments
• Do not operate mower in rain or in damp
or wet locations.
• Do not operate mower in gaseous
explosive atmospheres. Motors nor-
mally spark and the sparks might ignite
fumes.
• Do not operate mower while under the
influence of alcohol, medications, or
drugs.
• Do not operate mower when you are
tired or ill.
• Do not operate mower if it is damaged
or not securely and fully assembled.
2. Keep guards and shields in place and keep
them in working order.
3. Keep children out of the mowing area and
under watchful care of a responsible adult
other than the operator.
4. Be alert and turn mower off if a child enters
the area.
5. Only well instructed adults should operate
mower. Never allow children to operate
mower.
6. Use extra care when approaching blind
corners, shrubs, trees or other objects that
may block your view of a child.
7. Do not use mower for any job except that
for which it is intended.
8. Dress properly when operating mower.
• Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry
that can get caught in moving parts of
the mower.
• Wear long pants when operating
mower.
• Always wear rubber gloves and sub-
stantial rubber soled footwear when
working outside.
• Do not operate mower when barefoot
or wearing open sandals.
• Always wear a face or dust mask if
operation is dusty.
9. Always wear eye protection that meets
or exceeds the requirements of ANSI
Z87.1 (regular eyeglasses are not safety
glasses).
10. Guard against electric shock. Repair or
replace damaged cords immediately.
11. Thoroughly inspect the area where the
mower is to be used and remove all stones,
sticks, wires, bones, and other foreign ob-
jects that could be thrown by the blade.
12. Mow only in daylight or in good artificial
light.
13. Never operate mower in wet grass. Always
be sure of your footing; keep a firm hold
on the handle and walk; never run.
14. The use of any accessory or attachment
not recommended for use with this mower
could be hazardous and might increase risk
of injury.
15. Before using, always visually inspect to
see that the blade, blade fasteners, and
cutter assembly are not worn or dam-
aged. Replace worn or damaged blades
and fasteners in sets to preserve balance.
Inspect the mower cord - ensure it is in
good condition. Cord insulation must be
intact with no cracks or deterioration.

8. Do not force mower. It will do the job
better and with less likelihood of a risk
of injury at the rate for which it was de-
signed.
9. Do not abuse power cord. Never carry
mower or battery charger by power cord.
Never yank cord to disconnect from re-
ceptacle. Keep power cord from heat, oil,
and sharp edges.
10. Before starting mower, make sure blades
are not touching anything.
11. Do not put hands or feet near or under
rotating parts. Keep clear of the discharge
opening at all times.
12. Never direct discharged material toward
anyone. Avoid discharging material
against a wall or obstruction. Material
may ricochet back toward the operator.
Stop the blade when crossing gravel sur-
faces.
13. Release bail handle to turn mower off
when crossing gravel drives, walks, or
roads.
14. If mower stalls, be sure to release bail
handle to turn mower off and wait for
blade to stop. Remove key and unplug the
cord before attempting to unclog the chute
or remove anything from under the deck.
15. After striking a foreign object, release
bail handle to turn mower off and wait for
blade to stop. Remove key and unplug the
cord. Thoroughly inspect the mower for
any damage and repair the damage before
restarting and operating the mower.
16. If the equipment should start to vibrate
abnormally, release bail handle to turn
mower off and wait for blade to stop.
Remove key and unplug the cord. Check
immediately for the cause. Vibration is
generally a warning of trouble.
17. Release bail handle to turn mower off.
Stop the motor and wait until the blade
comes to a complete stop. Remove key
and unplug the cord
• whenever you leave the equipment
• before unclogging the deck or chute
• cleaning the mower
• transporting the mower
• lifting the mower
• when making any repairs or inspec-
tions
MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE
Whencleaning, repairing,orinspectingmower,
make certain the blade and all moving parts
have stopped.
1. Maintain mower with care.
• Keep cutting edge sharp and clean for
best performance and to reduce the risk
of injury.
• Follow instruction for lubricating and
changing accessories.
•
Inspect mower cord periodically, and if
damaged, have it repaired by a qualified
service facility.
• Inspect extension cords periodically and
replace if damaged.
• If mower is not working properly, has
been dropped, damaged, left outdoors,
or dropped into water, have it repaired
by a qualified service center.
• Keep handles dry, clean, and free from
oil and grease.
2. Check damaged parts.
• If a guard or other part is damaged,
carefully check the damaged part before
using the mower. Make sure the part
will operate properly and perform its
intended function.
• Check for alignment of moving parts,
binding of moving parts, breakage of
parts, mounting, and any other condi-
tion that may affect its operation.
• A guard or other part that is damaged
should be properly repaired or replaced
by a qualified service center unless indi-
cated elsewhere in this manual. Always
use identical replacement parts and
blades.
• Use only genuine Remington replace-
ment parts and accessories. These are
available from your local dealer. Use
of any non-Remington parts or acces-
sories could lead to injury to the user,
damage to the unit, and void your war-
ranty
3. Store idle mower indoors. When not in
use;
• Store mower and extension cord in
doors in a dry location.
• Store mower in a locked area with
key removed and out of reach of
children.
UNPACKING
1. Remove all items from carton.
2. Check all items for any shipping damage.
If you find any damage or if any parts are
missing, promptly inform dealer where
you bought mower or call 1-800-626-
2237.

Remove battery before cleaning
or servicing. Severe injury or
death could occur from fire, elec-
trical shock, or rotating blade.
WARNING
18. Shut the mower off, remove the key, and
wait until the blade comes to a complete
stop before removing the grass catcher.
Under normal usage, the catcher assem-
bly is subject to deterioration and wear;
therefore, the catcher assembly should
be frequently examined. An excessively
worn catcher assembly should be re-
placed. Ensure that any catcher assembly
replacement is in compliance with original
Remington recommemdations and speci-
fications.
19. Mow across the face of slopes; never up
and down. Exercise extreme caution when
changing direction on slopes. Do not mow
excessively steep slopes.
20. Use extreme caution when reversing or
pulling mower toward you.
21. Do not pull machine backwards unless
absolutely necessary. Always look down
and behind you before and while moving
backward.
22. Never operate mower without proper
guards, plates, or other safety protection
devices in place.

RECHARGEABLE BATTERY
BATTERY OPERATION AND CARE
Thebatteryinyour mowerisa60voltsealedlead
acid system. There is no liquid contained within
the battery. The mower can therefore be stored
in any position without fear of leakage.
Specific Characteristics
• For optimal performance, the battery
should be kept on constant charge when
not in use.
• For best results, battery should be
charged in a cool, dry location.
• The battery does not need to be fully
discharged before recharging.
• Two or three initial charging cycles may
be required after purchase to achieve
maximum run time capacity.
• The battery can be safely stored down
to 32°F (0°C).
• The battery is maintenance free.
Proper Care
Off-season storage
• In warmer climates, to ensure optimal
performance, it is recommended that
the battery be maintained on constant
charge.
• The mower may be stored with the char-
ger disconnected if all of the following
conditions are met:
• The mower is fully charged before
storing
• Storage duration is less than 6 months
When replacing the battery, use only identical
Remington replacement 60V battery, model
SB60A.
CHARGER SAFETY RULES
1. Plug charger directly into an electrical
outlet. DO NOT ABUSE CORD. Never
carry optional charger by cord. Do not
disconnect the charger from the outlet or
mower by pulling it by the cord.
2. Do not service mower with charger or
safety key installed.
3. Do not use a damaged charger. Replace
damaged cords or charger immediately.
4. When charging the battery:
• Always charge it in a dry area protected
from the weather.
• Do not expose it or charger to rain.
• Do not charge it in wet locations.
• Do not charge it when surrounding
temperature is below 32°F (0°C) or.
above 104°F (40°C)
5. Keep the mower and charger away from
water, heat sources (such as radiators,
heaters, stoves, etc.), flames, or chemicals.
Keep cord away from sharp edges.
6. DO NOT open or mutilate the battery.
Released electrolyte is corrosive and may
cause damage to the eyes or skin. It maybe
toxic if swallowed.
CHARGING BATTERY
Do not use charger outdoors or
in wet or damp locations.
WARNING
Service and Installation
YourRemingtonbrand hybridmowerisshipped
with the battery system fully assembled and
readyforuse. Whenserviceorrepair isrequired,
it is recommended that you take your mower to
a qualified service center.
When inserting the battery into this product, the
proper polarity or direction must be observed.
Reverse insertion of the battery can result in
leakage or explosion.
DONOTincinerate thebatterypackeven ifthey
are severely damaged or completely worn out.
The batteries can explode in a fire.
Use only an approved Rem-
ington brand replacement
battery.
CAUTION
Do not store or carry battery so
that metal objects can contact
exposed battery terminals. For
example, do not place battery
in aprons, pockets, tool boxes,
product kit boxes, drawers, etc.
with loose nails, screws, keys,
jewelry. Thebatteryorconductor
may overheat and cause burns.
WARNING
Do not attempt to alter or open
the battery.
WARNING
IMPORANT: You must charge
your battery before using your
mower for the first time and in-
between every use. Failure to
fully charge the battery before
the first use may cuase the
battery's charging capacity to
be decreased.
Before using mower for the first time, and
wheneverbatterybecomes drained,fullycharge
battery for approximately 10 hours. If the bat-
tery is not charged completely before using
the mower, the battery’s charging capacity
may decrease.
Note: The mower has an on-board battery char-
ger. If the mower is plugged in, the battery can
bechargedbyselecting"charge"with thepower
select knob. If the optional separate charger is
purchased, the battery may be charged when it
is removed from the mower.
Note: The length of time that a battery can
hold its charge while mowing depends upon
lawn conditions; tall or thick grass makes the
mower work harder causing the battery to
discharge faster.
The Remington brand mower comes with a
sealed, lead acid battery installed at the factory.
Thebatteryis ratedfor60voltsand5amp-hours.
The battery should not leak, regardless of the
position in which the mower is stored.
Thebatteryiscompletelymaintenance-free.You
never need to add water. However, as with all
rechargeable batteries, after years of use they
will eventually need replacement. With proper
care, this battery should last up to 5 years.
Note: As the battery ages, it may take longer
to fully charge (up to 24 hours). A good time
to consider purchasing a replacement battery
is when the battery takes longer to charge than
when it was new.
IMPORTANT: It may take up to 5 charging and
dischargingcycles beforeyour batteryprovides
maximum life.

CARING FOR THE BATTERY
A battery charge indicator is located on the
control panel. The flashing LED indicates the
batteryischarging. A continuousLEDindicates
the battery is fully charged.
A battery may last much longer if it is charged
as soon as it starts to loose power and is not
discharged completely.
Charging the Battery while in the
Mower
1. Make sure all four wheels of mower are
touching the ground .
2. Remove key.
3. Plug the mower into a wall outlet.
4. Select charge on the control panel.
A full charge takes at least 10 hours, and up
to 24 hours (for aging batteries). For the first
five hours, the optional second charger will be
warm to the touch. This is normal and does not
indicate a problem.
BATTERY CHARGE INDICATOR
You can lengthen the life of your battery by
following some simple guidelines.
• Always charge the battery indoors in
a garage or other covered area where
it will be dry and protected from the
weather.
• Only charge the battery when the tem-
perature is at least 32°F (0°C) – above
freezing – but not more than +104°F
(+40°C). Charging in lower or higher
temperatures can be harmful to the bat-
tery.
• Always keep the battery away from
water, heat sources (stoves, radiators,
open flames, etc.), and hazardous
chemicals.
• Never use the charger with any other
product. Never operate the charger if it
is damaged. If a cord or the charger unit
has been damaged, replace the charger
or have it repaired by a qualified service
center.
• Do not worry about leaving the battery
charging for longer than 10 hours – the
battery cannot be overcharged and will
not be damaged after 10 hours. It will
not impact the battery to leave it on the
charger for up to six months.
RECHARGING THE BATTERY
AFTER EACH USE
Always fully recharge the battery immediately
after each use, no matter how short a time it was
used.Fullyrechargeeven ifthegreenLEDlights
on the battery power indicator are still green.
Thisis importantinorder tomaintainmaximum
mowerperformanceand extendtheusefullifeof
thebattery. Ifthered LEDcomeson whileusing
the mower, stop the mower and either replace
the battery with an optional backup battery or
recharge the battery completely.
Unlike “smart batteries” found in devices
such as cell phones, the Remington brand bat-
tery should NOT be run until it is completely
drained. Running the battery until it is fully
depletedwill reducethelong-termperformance
of the battery.
Leaving the battery on the charger for an
extended period of time (up to six months)
will not damage the battery. It is impossible to
overcharge the battery.
IMPORTANT: If a depleted battery is stored, the
battery’s charging capacity will decrease.
AlwaysusetheRemingtonbrand
charger to charge the battery.
Never attempt to use any other
charger. Use of a different char-
germaycause afireor explosion
and will void the warranty.

Attaching Handle Assembly to Mower
1. Align ends of lower handle assembly with
handle shafts on rear of mower (see Figure
1). Insert connector bolts, from the inside
of the handle assembly, through both the
lower handle assembly and the handle
shafts (see Figure 2).
3. Place star-washer onto connector bolt and
thread on the handle knobs (see Figure 3).
Hand-tighten handle knobs securely.
4. Rotate top of handle assembly upward to
align with bottom of handle.
5. Tighten handle knobs (see Figure 4).
Adjusting Handle Height
The handle has three height adjustments (three
holes in the lower handle assembly). Adjust
the handle assembly to a comfortable height
for you.
1. Loosen and remove the handle knobs, con-
nector bolts, and star-washer (see Figure
4).
2. Adjust handle up or down to desired height
(see Figure 5).
3. Align holes on lower handle assembly with
hole in upper handle assembly.
4. Insert connector bolts, from the inside of
the handle assembly, through both the
lower and upper handle assembly.
5. Place star-washer onto connector bolt and
thread handle knobs on loosely (see Figure
4).
6. Verify upper and lower handle assembly
are aligned and hand-tighten handle knobs
securely. Note: Be careful not to over-
tighten handle knobs and possibly strip
the threads.
Check the handle height for comfort and adjust
as needed.

Adjusting Wheel Height
There are 8 preset cutting height settings. The
cutting depth of the mower is adjustable from 1
1/2" to 3 1/2" in approximately 1/4" increments.
Use the wheel height adjustment handle to
adjust all 4 wheels.
1. Remove key from mower.
2. Make sure all four wheels are level.
3. Slide the wheel height adjustment handle
out of the slot (see Figure 6).
Note: To easily adjust the cutting height,
hold the mower handle with one hand to
keep the mower steady and adjust the lever
with the other hand.
4. Move the handle forward or backward to
adjust cutting height (see Figure 7).
5. Slide the handle into the slot at the desired
height (see Figure 8).
Note: Setting 1 cuts the grass to 1 1/2" in
height (short cut). Setting 8 cuts the grass
to 3 1/2" in height (tall cut).

Useproper extensioncordwiththis mower.Use
only a polarized (i.e., one blade is wider than
the other), UL listed extension cord marked for
outdooruse.Thecordmustbemarkedwithsuffix
W or W-A following the cord type designation.
Example: SJTW-A or SJTW.
Use proper sized cord with this mower. Cord
must be heavy enough to carry current needed.
An undersized cord will cause voltage drop
at mower. The mower will lose power and
overheat. Follow cord size requirements listed
on page 11.
Keep cord away from cutting area. Make sure
cord does not catch on branches during cutting.
Inspect cord often. Replace damaged cords.
1. Use only three-wire outdoor extension
cords that have three-prong grounding-
type plugs and three-pole receptacles that
accept the mower’s plug.
2. Make sure your extension cord is in good
condition. Cord insulation must be intact
with no cracks or deterioration. Plug con-
nectors must be undamaged. When using
an extension cord, be sure to use one heavy
enough to carry the current your mower
will draw. An undersized extension cord
will cause a drop in line voltage resulting
in loss of power and overheating.
OPERATING MOWER
Safety Checks
Perform the following safety checks before
operating mower each time.
• Check that the blade is attached securely.
• Make sure all knobs, bolts, attachments,
and covers are in place and securely
attached.
• Inspect for any visible damage to the
blade or deck and remove any accu-
mulation of dirt, dust, or dried grass
clippings.
• Attach either the rear bagger, the mulch-
ing plug, or the optional side discharge
chute. See Attaching Mulcing Plug or
Read Bagger.
• Set the mower to the desired cutting
height (see Adjusting Wheel Height).
• Be sure the battery is fully charged.
• Before starting mower, push it to the
lawn area to be mowed.
Power Selection Dial
This Remington brand mower is designed to
operate from a rechargeable battery or 110
volt outlet. To select the power source desired,
follow the instructions below.
1. Locate the upper deck power selection dial
on the control board (see Figure 12).
2. Turn the dial to the selection desired (see
Figure 13).
MOWER INFORMATION
Note: This mower is designed to operate using
the battery even if it is connected to a 110V
power supply. When the power selection dial
is turned to “Battery”, the 110V power input
is switched off.

back of the mower (see Figure 9).

Note: The mulching plug uses friction
to stay in place. It might be necessary to
wiggle the plug to fully install it and to
remove it.

Rear Bagger Installation
1. Raise the hinged discharge guard on the
back of the mower (see Figure 9).
2. Orient the rear bagger as shown in Figure
11.
3. Position the top front groove over the sup-
port rod (see Figure 11). Note: Slightly tilt
rear of bag upward to place the rear bagger
groove onto the support rod.
4. Lower rear of bag. Gravity and the weight
of the cut grass will hold the rear bagger
in place.

3. This mower should be grounded while
in use to reduce the risk of injury to the
operator from electric shock. The mower is
equipped with an approved three-conduc-
tor cord and three-prong grounding-type
plug to fit the proper grounding-type re-
ceptacle. The green or green and yellow
conductor in the cord is the grounding
wire. Never connect the green or green and
yellow wire to a live terminal. See Figure
14 for plug configuration.
An adapter is available for connecting
plugs to two-prong receptacles. The green-
colored rigid ear, lug, or the like, must be
connected to a permanent ground, such as
a properly grounded outlet box.

Provide Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter
(GFCI) protection on the circuit or outlet
to be used for the mower. You may use
receptacles with built-in GFCI protection
for this safety measure.

Whenmowingwithanextensioncordattachedto
mower,start thefirstrowclosest totheelectrical
outlet being used and mow away from outlet.
1. Place most of the extension cord close to
the electrical outlet, out of the path of the
mower.
2. Start in direction where extension cord side
of mower is closest to the outlet. Begin
mowing in the area closest to the outlet
and mow in a back and forth manner.
Note: Keep the cord on cut portion of lawn
and out of the path of the mower.
3. Avoid mowing in circles as cord will be
harder to manage.
Circuit Breaker Protection
This mower is equipped with a circuit breaker
located on the top of mower control panel (see
Figure 19). The circuit breaker provides over-
current protection to the mower motor should
the blade become jammed by grass clogged in
the output chute or other obstruction.
If the circuit breaker should trip during use, the
white circuit breaker button will pop up out of
the control panel and the electric motor and the
blade will stop rotating.

WARNING
1. Plug the extension cord into the mower
connector (see Figure 15).
2. Create a loop in the extension cord and
insert the loop through the bottom of the
cord retainer (see Figure 16).
3. Pull the loop tight around the molded cord
hitch (see Figure 17).
Note: An optional method of retaining the
extension cord is shown in Figure 18. Use this
method with larger-gauge cords that may not
fit into the extension cord retainer.
Resetting the Breaker
1. Fully release the bail handle.
2. Remove the key.
3. Unplug the mower power cord from exten-
sion cord.
4. Press the white circuit breaker button back
into the housing to reset (see Figure 20).
The button should stay depressed when
released. Plug the mower power cord back
into the extension cord, if you are using
110V power.
5. Restart mower (see Starting Mower for
instructions).

MOWER INFORMATION
1. Select power input using the power selec-
tion dial (see Figure 21).
2. Insert key into key slot and press into slot
(see Figure 22). Note: The key can be
inserted either way into key slot.
3. Continue to press the key into the key slot
while raising the bail handle (see Figure
23). The motor will start and the mower
blade will begin to rotate. Once the mower
is started, the safety key can be released.
4. IMPORTANT: To stop the mower, release
the bail handle. The motor will shut off
and the blade will stop turning. To start
the mower again, repeat steps 1 through
3 above.

STARTING MOWER
• For best results, mow at a steady pace. If you
try to walk too quickly, especially in tall or
thick grass, the quality of the cut may not
be uniform. To avoid damage and extend
battery life, always mow at a pace which
allows the motor to run smoothly.
• The length of time that the mower’s battery
can hold its charge while mowing a lawn
depends upon lawn conditions; tall, thick, or
damp grass make the mower work harder,
causing the battery to discharge faster.
Under normal mowing conditions the run
time is between 45 and 60 minutes. To mow
longer, consider purchasing a second battery
and keep it fully charged.
• Before starting the mower, adjust the cutting
height so that you only cut 1 to 2 inches of
grass at a time. Cut thicker grass at a higher
cutting height, or cut a narrower swath. Do
not force the mower forward in thick grass;
rather cut it with a couple of passes. Your
Remington brand mower will do a better and
safer job when cutting at a steady pace.
• Mowing dense grasses, such as St. Augus-
tine or Bermuda grass, requires more power
to cut properly. For these grasses it may be
necessary to move more slowly to ensure a
quality cut.
• Mow as often as needed so that you are only
cutting 1 to 2 inches of grass each mowing
session. Trying to cut more than 2 inches
will drastically reduce the charge life of the
battery and quality of the cut.
• For the healthiest lawn, avoid removing
more than one third of the leaf blade dur-
ing any one mowing session. When more
than one third of the leaf blade is removed,
the grass plant produces less food for itself
and therefore becomes weaker and more
susceptible to disease and insect damage.
• Frequent stopping and restarting of the
mower will use additional battery energy.
Try to work continuously and smoothly
when mowing.
• Keep your mower blade sharp. A sharp
mower blade cuts the grass quickly and
cleanly, using less of the mower’s power,
which conserves battery life. For best
results, inspect the blade often and have
an extra, sharp blade ready to install as a
replacement while the dull blade is being
sharpened.
• Mow across slopes; never up and down.

MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
LUBRICATING MOWER
Your Remington brand mower does not need
to be lubricated. Please do not lubricate the
mower.
REMOVING AND ATTACHING MOWER
BLADE
Tools Needed:
• 3/4" socket or adjustable wrench
• 2" x 4" piece of wood (about 2 feet long)
• Heavy work gloves
1. Remove safety key, battery, and power
cord (if applicable).
2. Turn mower upside down.
3. Wedge a 2" x 4" piece of wood under the
blade and over the edge of the mower
housing (see Figure 26).
4. Using 3/4" socket or adjustable wrench,
turn the blade nut counterclockwise to
remove.
5. Remove blade nut, washer, and blade (see
Figure 27). Note: The blade adapter might
come off with the blade. It is not part of
the blade and needs to placed on the motor
shaft before reinstalling blade.
6. To replace a sharpened blade or to install
a new blade, verify the blade adapter is on
the motor shaft.
7. Place blade on motor shaft. IMPORTANT:
Verify hole in center of blade is aligned
correctly with blade adapter.
8. Place the washer onto the motor shaft.
9. With the 2" x 4" piece of wood in place,
install blade nut and tighten securely.
(Torque 40 Ft-Lbs - 480 in-lbs)
10. Turn the mower upright.
An out-of-balance blade causes the mower to
vibrate excessively. Excessive vibration may
cause damage to the mower, especially the
motor and electrical connections.
Because you are removing metal from the blade
when sharpening, make sure to remove an
equal amount from each side to keep the blade
balanced. The best way to balance a blade is
with a blade balancer (available at most local
hardware stores), or with a large screwdriver,
nail, or bolt.
Tools Needed:
• Heavy work gloves
• Blade balancer, or a large screwdriver,
nail, or bolt
1. After sharpening the blade, hang it on the
balancer and check the level.
If one side of the blade tips lower, sharpen
that side a little at a time until the blade is
balanced.
2. When sharpening a used blade, be espe-
cially careful to keep it balanced. If in
doubt, replace the blade with a new one.
Note: Blade sharpening services are also avail-
able. Contact a local mower service center or
check the local yellow pages.
BALANCING MOWER BLADE
When the blade is dull, the cut ends of the grass
will be ragged and may turn brown soon after
mowing. A dull blade also causes the battery
to discharge more quickly. When this occurs,
sharpen the blade (as long as the blade is oth-
erwise in good condition).
Tools Needed:
• Fine-toothed file
• Heavy work gloves
• Safety glasses
1. Remove blade from mower (see Removing
and Attaching Mower Blade).
2. Secure blade in a vise.
3. While wearing safety glasses, carefully
file the cutting edges of the blade using
even strokes. Be sure to file both sides of
the blade equally.
4. Check the balance of the blade after sharp-
ening (see Balancing Mower Blade).

2. Using a damp cloth or sponge with a mild
soap or detergent, clean the mower.
3. Use a soft nylon brush of non-metallic
scrubbing pad to remove any clippings
that have accumulated on the underside
of the deck and in the rear discharge area.
Do not use a wire brush; it will scratch and
harm the surface of the mower.
4. Water may be used to clean the rear bag-
ger, but not the mower itself. For proper
grass collection, make sure the grass bag is
clean and the mesh holes are not clogged.
Allow the rear bagger to dry thoroughly
before using it again.
Note: A wet rear bagger will clog quickly and
hamper grass collection.

performance. Note: Remember, this is an elec-

MIENTRAS USE LA PODADORA
1. Esté alerta y use el sentido común. IOb-
serve lo que está haciendo.
2. Manténgase detrás del asa cuando el motor
esté funcionando.
3. Los objetos golpeados por la cuchilla de la
podadora pueden causar serias heridas. Al
césped se lo debería siempre examinar con
cuidado y limpiarlo de todos los objetos
antes de cada corte.

Esté consciente del cordón de extensión
mientras usa la podadora. Procure no tro-
pezarse con el cordón de extensión. Guarde
el cordón de extensión lejos de las cuchillas
cortadoras siempre.
5. Evite arranques involuntarios:
• No lleve la podadora enchufada con el
dedo en el interruptor.
• Asegúrese de quitar la llave de seguri-
dad al enchufar la podadora.
• Asegúrese que el asa de soporte no esté
conectada cuando inserte la llave..

ANTES DE SUAR LA PODADORA

controles y el uso apropiado de su podadora.
1. Evite los ambientes peligrosos
• No use la podadora en la lluvia o en sitios
húmedos o mojados.
• No use la podadora en atmósferas ex-
plosivas gaseosas. Los motores normal-
mente chispean y las chispas podrían
encender los vapores.
• No use la podadora si usted está bajo
la influencia del alcohol, medicinas o
drogas.
• No use la podadora cuando está cansado
o enfermo.
• No use la podadora si está dañada o si
no está ensamblada en forma segura y
completa.
2 Mantenga las protecciones y guardas en
su lugar y manténgalos en buen funcio-
namiento de trabajo.
3. Mantenga a los niños fuera del área que se
va a podar y bajo el cuidado vigilante de un
adulto responsible, además del operador.
4. Esté alerta y apague la podadora si un niño
entra al área.
5. Sólo los adultos bien capacitados deberían
hacer usar la podadora. Nunca permita que
los niños usen la podadora.
6. Use muchísimo cuidado cuando se acerca
a esquinas ciegas, arbustos, árboles u otros
objetos que pueden hacer que usted no vea
a un niño.
7. No use la podadora para ningún otro tra-
bajo excepto para el que fue diseñada.
8. Use la ropa apropiada cuando use la po-
dadora.
• No use ropa suelta o joyas que se pue-
den atascar en las partes movibles de la
podadora.
• Use pantalones largos cuando use la
podadora.
• Use siempre guantes de caucho y zapatos
con suela de caucho cuando trabaje
afuera.
• No use la podadora con los pies descal-
zos o con sandalias abiertas.
9. Siempre use la protección ocular que que
cumpla con, o exceda, los requisitos de
ANSIZ87.1 (los lentes regulares no son
gafas de seguridad).
10. Protéjase contra la sacudida eléctrica.
Repare o sustituya los cordones dañados
inmediatamente.
11. Inspeccione por completo el área donde
usará la podadora y quite todas las piedras,
palos, alambres, huesos, y otros objetos
extraños que podrían ser lanzados por la
cuchilla.
12. Use la podadora sólo durante el día o
cuando haya buena luz artificial.
13. Nunca use la podadora en hierba mojada.
Siempre esté seguro de su equilibrio;
agarre firmemente el asa y camine; nunca
corra.
14. El uso de cualquier accesorio o aditamento
no recomendado para ser usado con esta
podadora podría ser arriesgado y podría
aumentar el riesgo de una lesión.
15. Antes de usarla, siempre inspeccione vi-
sualmente para ver que la cuchilla, los
sujetadores de la cuchilla, y el conjunto del
cortador no están desgastados o dañados.
Para conservar el equilibrio cambie las
cuchillas usadas o dañadas y los sujetado-
res en juegos. Inspeccione el cordón de la
podadora - asegúrese que esté en buenas
condiciones. El aislamiento del cordón
debe estar intacto sin grietas o deterioro.

6. No se extienda. Mantenga siempre el
equilibrio y punto de apoyo apropiados
cuando use la podadora.
7. Desconecte la podadora de la fuente de
energía y quite la llave:
• cuando no la use
• antes de hacer ajustes
• antes de dar servicio o de limpiar
• antes levantar or transportar algo
• antes de cambiar los accesorios o
la cuchilla
8. No fuerce la podadora. Hará el trabajo me-
jor y con menos probabilidad de riesgo de
lesión al ritmo para el cual fue diseñada.
9. No abuse del cordón de energía. Nunca
lleve la podadora o el cargador de baterías
por el cordón de energía. Nunca hale del
cordón para desconectarlo del receptáculo.
Mantenga el cordón lejos del calor, aceite
y bordes agudos.
10. Antes de prender la podadora, asegúrese
que las cuchillas no estén tocando nada.
11. No ponga las manos o pies cerca de las
piezas giratorias. Manténgase siempre
lejos de los agujeros de descarga.
12. Nunca diriga el material descargado hacia
nadie. Evite descargar el material contra
una pared u obstrucción. El material
puede rebotar atrás hacia el operador.
Pare la cuchilla si debe cruzar superficies
de grava.
13. Afloje el asa de soporte para apagar la
podadora cuando cruce caminos de entrada
a casa con grava, veredas, o caminos.
14. Si la podadora se para, asegúrese de aflojar
el asa de soporte para apagar la podadora
y espere que la cuchilla se pare. Quite
la llave y desenchufe el cordón antes de
intentar desatascar el colector de basura o
quitar cualquier cosa de la cubierta.
15. Después de golpear un objeto extraño, aflo-
je el asa de soporte para apagar la podadora
y espere que la cuchilla se pare. Quite la
llave y desenchufe el cordón. Inspeccione
por completo la podadora para ver sit
tiene algún daño y repare el daño antes de
prenderla y usarla de nuevo.
16. Si el equipo comienza a vibrar en forma
anormal, afloje el asa de soporte para apa-
gar la podadora y espere que la cuchilla se
pare. Quite la llave y desenchufe el cordón.
Compruebe inmediatamente la causa. La
vibración es generalmente la advertencia
de un problema.
17. Afloje el asa de soporte para apagar la po-
dadora. Pare el motor y espere hasta que
la cuchilla se pare por completo. Quite la
llave y desenchufe el cordón:
• cuando usted abandone el equipo
• antes de desatascar la cubierta o colector
de basura
• cuando limpie la podadora
• cuando transporte la podadora
Al limpiar, reparar, o inspeccionar la podadora,
asegúrese que la cuchilla y todas las partes
movibles se hayan parado.
1. Mantenga la podadora con cuidado.
• Mantenga el borde cortador limpio y afi-
lado para obtener el mejor rendimiento
y reducir el riesgo de lesiones.
• Siga las indicaciones para lubricar y
cambiar los accesorios.
• Inspeccione el cordón de la podadora
periódicamente, y si está dañado, hágalo
reparar en un lugar de servicio califica-
do.
• Inspeccione los cordones de extensión
periódicamente y cámbielos si están
dañados.
DESEMBALAJE
1. Retire todos los elementos del embalaje.
2. Revise todos los artículos para ver si se han
dañado durante su envío. Si encentra algo
dañado o algo que falta, llame a Teechnical
Services al 1-800-626-2237 para recivir
servico rápido.

18. Apague la podadora, quite la llave y
espere hasta que la cuchilla se pare por
completo antes de quitar la recogedora
de hierba. Bajo uso normal, el conjunto
de la recogedora está sujeto a deterioro
y desgaste; por lo tanto, el conjunto de
la recogedora debería ser examinada con
frecuencia. Unaa recogedor con desgaste
excesivo debería ser cambiado. Asegúrese
que cualquier reemplazo del conjunto de
la recogedora esté en conformidad con
las recomendaciones y especificaciones
originales de Remington.
19. Corte las cuestas al través y nunca hacia
arriba o hacia abajo. Tenga muchísimo
cuidado al cambiar de dirección en las
cuestas. No pode cuestas excesivamente
escarpadas.
20. Use extrema precaución cuando cambie de
dirección o hale la podadora hacia usted.
21. No hale la máquina hacia atrás a menos
que sea absolutamente necesario. Siempre
mire hacia abajo y detrás de usted antes y
mientras se mueve hacia atrás.
22. Nunca use la podadora sin las protecciones
apropiadas, planchas, u otros dispositivos
de protección de seguridad en su sitio.

• Si la podadora no funciona correcta-
mente, se ha caído, dañado, o se la ha
dejado al aire libre, o se cayó en agua,
hágala reparar en un centro de servicio
calificado.
• Mantenga las asas secas, limpias, y sin
aceite ni grasa.
• Compruebe la alineación de las piezas
movibles, la unión de las piezas movi-
bles, la rotura de las piezas, el montaje,
y cualquier otra condición que pueda
afectar su operación.
2. Check damaged parts.
• Si una protección u otra pieza está
dañada, inspeccione con cuidado la
pieza dañada antes de usar la podadora.
Asegúrese que la pieza funcionará co-
rrectamente y realizará la función para
la que fue diseñada.
• Compruebe la alineación de las piezas
movibles, la unión de las piezas movi-
bles, la rotura de las piezas, el montaje,
y cualquier otra condición que pueda
afectar su operación.
• Un protector o cualquier otra parte da-
ñada debe ser reparada correctamente o
cambiada a no ser que se indique otra
cosa en este manual.
• Use solo piezas de repuestos y acceso-
rios Remington genuinos. Los puede
encontrar en su concesionario local. El
uso de piezas o accesorios que no sean
de Remington® pueden causar lesión
al usuario, daño a la unidad y anular la
garantía.
3. Guarde la podadora bajo cubierta cuando
no la use. Cuando no la use;
• guarde la podadora y el cordón de
extensión bajo cubierta y en un
lugar seco.
• guarde la podadora en un área ase
gurada y quite la llave y fuera del
alcance de los niños.
