I.1 DESCRIPTION OF THE MACHINE
UTNC-EV is a Bo x-t ype air ha ndling t ermin al unit , t o be inst alled i n f alse
ceilings, with air flow and return directlyinto the room.
I.1.1 DECLARED CONDI TIONS OF USE
UTNC-EV is a fan coil int ende d f or the tre at ment o f air (summer a nd
wint er air-conditi oning) inside building s us ed f or domestic or si milar
purpos es. T he unit is no t d esig ned for ins tallation in rooms us ed for
laun dry purposes (IEC EN 60 335- 2-40 Standard).
The units comply with the following Directives:
- M achiner y Dir ecti ve 20 06/ 42/ EC (M D);
- Lo w V oltag e D ir ecti ve 20 06 /95 /EC ( LVD);
- Electromagnetic CompatibilityDirective 2004/108/EC (EMC);

The mach ine is designed for indoor installation
only, for use in domestic or similar environments.

visible by removi ng the air filter.

drain level tray, a buffer ceiling with manually adjustable flow fins, r eturn

content of hard wat er sa lts, it is adv isabl e to fit a
water softener.

I.3.1 PROLONGED SHUTDOWN
IMPORTANT !
If the unit is not used during the winter period, the
wat er cont ained in t he s yst em ma y freez e.
If th e mac hine is goi ng to be out of use for long perio ds of ti me, it is
necess ary to disco nn ect t he unit from the mains b y discon nec ting th e
main switch, fitted by the installer.
If th e unit is not use d during th e wint er perio d, t he water c ontaine d in
the s ys te m may fr eeze. To preve nt this, all the water co ntain ed in t he
circuit must b e emptied before th e onset of win ter. Altern ati vel y, a
suitabl e q ua ntity of a nti-freez e liq uid should be mi xed wit h th e water.
I.3.2 START-UP AF TER PROLONGED SHUTDOWN
Befor e starti ng up the unit ag ain:
•Clean or cha ng e t he air filter.
•Clean t he he at-exc ha nger.
•Clean or uncl og the drain of the condens ate tray.
•Bleed any air from the water s ystem.
•It is advisable to run the unit at maximum speed for s everal hours.
I.4 CLEANING THE UNI T

The external surfac e of t he unit can be cleaned.

I.4.1 CLEANING THE AIR FILTER
To ens ure c orrect air intake , th e air filter must be cl eaned at l east onc e
a mont h or more ofte n if t he machin e is us ed in ver y dust y
environ ments. T he filter must always be removed from th e unit to be
cleaned.
The air fi lter i s mad e of a cr yl ic fibr e, whi ch can be
washed with wat er.
The electrostatic activated carbon filters (with
whi ch the unit m ayb e equipped) cannot be wash ed
and must be replaced.

II.2 INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

The unit must be installed according to national or
local regulat ion s appli cabl e at t he t ime of
installation. Always u se the personal protective
equipment.
Check that the v oltage and t he frequ enc y of the
electric system correspond to those required and
that the av ailabl e po wer inst alled is suf ficient for
other household appliances that are connected on
the sam e e lectri c l ines to f unct ion. Make sur e that
the electrical supply syst em complies with current
National safet yregulations. Make sur e that an
ef ficient e art h line is av ail able .
The condensate drain pipe of the inner unit mu st be
extended with a PVC pipe of an internal Ø 16 mm
(not supplied), long enough for the installation in
question and therm all y insul ated.
The unit is not designed to be installed in rooms
used for laundry purposes (IEC EN 60335-2-40).
Follow the indications b elo wfor the in stallation procedure:
Install t he unit in a possibl y central positio n o f the room. The air flo w
direction c an be adjust ed by manuall y moving t he vents acc ording to
the func tioni ng mode (c ooling or heating ). This optimis es the air
distributio n in the roo m.
When f uncti oning in c ooling mode, th e o ptimal position (2) of the vents
is that which blows the air towards the ceiling by Coanda effect. In
hea ting mode , t he vents (1) direct th e air t owar ds t he floor t o pre ve nt
stratification of hot air in the upper part of the room
