お手入れについて

電波時計について
この時計は福島局と九州局に対応しており、
標準電波を自動選択して受信します。
送信所から約 1200km 離れた場所でも受
信可能です。ただし、受信範囲であっても
電波障害 ( 太陽活動、季節、天候、置き場所、
時間帯（昼／夜）あるいは地形や建物の影
響など）により、受信できないことがあります。
標準電波 (JJY) は、日本標準時 (JST) をお知らせするために、情報通信研究機構が運
用している電波です。標準電波の時刻情報は、およそ１０万年に１秒の誤差という「セシ
ウム原子時計」によるものです。標準電波送信所は、福島県の「福島局：おおたかどや
山標準電波送信所」と佐賀県と福岡県の県境にある「九州局：はがね山標準電波送信所」
の２ヵ所にあります。標準電波の詳細については、情報通信研究機構のホームページをご
覧ください。(http://jjy.nict.go.jp)
電波の受信範囲について
電波時計は、正確な時刻およびカレンダー情報をのせた標準電波を受信することにより、
自動的に表示時刻を修正し正確な時刻をお知らせする時計です。

電波を受信しにくい環境
次のような場所では受信できない場合や誤った時刻を表示することがあります。
●工事現場、空港の近くや交通量の多いところなど電波障害の起きるところ
●金属製の雨戸やブラインドの近く
●ビルの地下など
●高圧線、テレビ塔、電車の架橋近く
●朝夕の時間帯、雨天のとき
●家電製品や OA 機器の近く
●スチール机等の金属製家具の上や近く
海外でのご使用について
この時計は、日本以外の標準電波は受信できません。海外で使用した場合、まれに日本
の標準電波を受信し、日本の標準時を表示したり、ノイズにより誤った時刻を表示するこ
とがありますので、海外での使用はお勧めできません。
標準電波の送信停止について
送信所の定期点検や落雷などの影響により、標準電波の送信が停止することがあります。
標準電波の送信状態については「情報通信研究機構」のホームページをご覧ください。

通常の針の動きについて
時針、分針：10 秒単位に動く
秒針 ：滑らかな１秒ステップ
自動受信で時刻を修正するときには、早送りや
一時停止することがあります。

標準電波を利用しないで時刻を合わせる場合は、「手動での時刻合わせ」（P.８）を参照してください 。
◎窓際など電波の受信しやすいところでお使いください。
❶ボリュームを左に回して最小にする
操作しているときに、メロディが大きな音で鳴らないようにします。
❷電波受信スイッチをＯＮにする
❸裏ぶたを取り外す
❹電池ホルダーの⊕⊖表示に合わせて電池を入れる
電池の⊕⊖を逆に入れると、電池の液もれ・発熱・破裂の原因となります。
❺強制受信ボタンを押す 「受信の流れと受信表示ランプの見かた」参照
受信表示ランプが点灯して受信を開始します。
針は止まったままです。受信が終わると早送りで移動を開始します。
※電池を入れた後は、必ず強制受信ボタンを押してください。
※受信中はボタンの操作をしないでください。

❾１５分待って、受信確認ボタンを押して受信結果を確認する
受信表示ランプが５秒間点灯すれば、受信に成功しています。正しい時刻を
表示します。５秒間点滅しているときは、受信に失敗しています。
「標準電波を受信できない場合」（P.８）を参照してください。
◎報時は「報時機能の設定」（P.6）に従って設定してお使いください。

受信の流れと受信表示ランプの見かた
標準電波の受信は、最長で１５分程度行います。
●点滅せずに消灯したときは、電波を検出できません。設置場所を変えてください。
○受信に成功してもノイズにより誤った時刻を表示することがあります。このようなときは、場所を変
えて強制受信ボタンを押してください。
○受信表示ランプは、２４〜２５時間以内の受信結果を表示します。

明暗センサーとスリープモニター… 暗くなると秒針が１２時位置に止まる
明暗センサーが暗いと判別したときは、秒針が１２時位置に停止します。また、報時をし
なくなります。
昼間や夜間の照明時でも明るさが不足するとセンサーが働きます。
スリープモニターボタンを押し続けると、秒針は１２時位置になると停止して、暗い状態を
再現します。スリープモニターボタンを離すと秒針は早送りで現在時刻に移動します。

Ⓜモニターボタン （メロディの試聴）
モニターボタンを押すと１曲メロディを奏でます。鳴っているときにモニターボ
タンを押すと、次のメロディに切り替わります。
○次の正時には、再生の順番がひとつ進みます。
毎正時にメロディを１曲奏でます。メロディは毎正時に切り替わります。

●付属の木ねじが使用できる場所は、木の柱または木質の厚い壁面です。
●木ねじは下図のとおり、壁面にしっかりねじ込んで固定してください。

●石膏ボード、コンクリートなどの壁面に掛ける場合は、壁の材質・構造と時計の重
量に合った、市販の掛け具をご使用ください。その際、両面テープ式や吸盤式は時
計が落下する危険がありますので、使用しないでください。
○垂直に掛けてください。傾くと掛け具から外れる恐れがあります。
○掛けたときは、上下、左右に軽く動かして、掛け具（木ねじ）に壁掛け部がしっかり掛か
って い ることを 確 認してくだ さい 。
○
市販の掛け具を使用するときは、壁掛け部にしっかり掛かるものを選んでください。
○ドアを開閉するときの振動が伝わらないところに設置してください。
掛けかたが不適切な場合、時計が落下する危険があります。

電波受信機能のON/OFF設定
ノイズなどにより誤受信しやすいところや、意図的に時間をずらしてお使いになるとき
に、電波を受信しないようにすることができます。電波受信スイッチをＯＮにすると定
期的に受信を行い、 ＯＦＦにすると受信をしません。
※受信に成功した状態でＯＦＦにすると２４時間以内は受信表示ランプが点滅すること
があります。
※ＯＦＦのときに電池を入れたり、強制受信ボタンを押すと、受信ランプが点灯して時
分針および秒針が早送りしたりしますが、受信は行わずに時刻の表示になります

●朝までそのままにしておく
一般的に、夜間は電波状態が良くなるので、手動で時刻合わせをして一晩そのまま
にしておくと受信できる可能性が 高くなります。
●場所を変える／受信をやり直す
電波の受信しやすい窓ぎわや取扱説明書の日本地図を参考にして、時計の正面また
は裏面が電波の送信所に、なるべく向くようにして、強制受信ボタンを押して再度
受信を行ってください。
●時刻を合わせて使用する
ベランダなどの屋外で電波の受信に成功させるか、手動で時刻を合わせて使用して
ください。受信できないときの時間精度は、クオーツ精度になります。
受信できない場合は、下記の操作で時刻を合わせることによりご使用になれます。
標準電波を受信できない場合
手動での時刻合わせ……受信できないときや任意の時刻に合わせるとき
時刻合わせボタンを操作することにより、手動で時刻を合わせることができます。
※時刻合わせボタンを押していないのに、針が早送りで動いているときは、通常の針の
動きになってから操作してください。
時刻合わせボタンを押すと針が動き始めます。
○時刻合わせボタンを押してすぐに離すと１分進みます。
○時刻合わせボタンを押し続けると早送りで動きます。このとき秒針は停止します。
秒は、時刻合わせボタンを離したとき、ゼロ秒に設定されます。秒針が早送りで動いてい
るときに時刻合わせボタンを離すと、そのまま早送りで現在時刻の秒位置まで動きます。
※電波受信スイッチがＯＮの場合、受信に成功すると時刻を自動的に修正します。

電池のご使用上のポイント 正しく使って事故をなくしましょう
●プラス（＋）、マイナス（−）を間違えない。 ●古い電池と新しい電池を混ぜない。
●種類の異なる電池を混ぜない。●
時計が動いていても定期的に交換する 。
●長期間使用しないときは電池を取り外す。 ●
時計が止まったらすぐに電池を取り外す 。
●電池を新しくするときは、全部取り替える。 ●幼児の手が届かない所に置く。
●電池に表示されている使用推奨期間内に使う。
電池の種類について
●アルカリ乾電池とマンガン乾電池は形状的に互換性があり、一般にアルカリ乾電池
のほうが長持ちします。
●一般に充電式の電池は電圧が低く、時計には不向きですので使用しないでください。
●一部の高性能電池では、初期電圧が高く時計には不向きなものがあります。
（例 .Panasonic オキシライド乾電池）
電池の寿命について
●付属の電池は、工場を出荷するときに入れていますので、製品仕様より短い期間で
電池切れになることがあります。
●お住まい地区自治体の指定に従ってください。
●電池を取り外してください。
電池・時計の廃棄
電池からの液もれにより、時計の修理や壁面の修繕などに費用が発生することがあります。
電池からの液もれや発熱、破裂を防止するために次のことをお守りください。
●時計が停止したときは、速やかに指定の電池に交換するか、電池を取り出す。
●時計が動いていても１年に１回定期的に交換する。
●古い電池と新しい電池、マンガンとアルカリ電池を混ぜて使用しない。
●電池の⊕⊖を逆に入れない。
電池の交換時期お知らせ機能…秒針が常時１２時位置に止まる
電池の交換時期になると、明るい所でも秒針が１２時位置に止まり、報時も停止します。
時針と分針はこのような状態になってから、１ヵ月程度は動き続けますが、電池からの液
もれを防ぐためお早めに電池を交換してください。
電池を交換した後は、必ず強制受信ボタンを押してください。

PREVENTION OF ACCIDENTAL INGESTION

Keep out of reach from infants all accessories
(metal hooks, screws, etc.) and small-size
batteries. If such accessories are swallowed,
immediately consult a doctor for the necessary
treatment.
If the batteries are not used properly, there
is the risk of bodily injury or damage to the
clock and its surroundings due to heating.
• Do not deform a battery.
• Do not disassemble or modify batteries.
• Do not short-circuit the battery.
•
Do not recharge dry batteries .
• Do not heat batteries.
• Do not throw a battery into a fire.
Flush with water to remove battery electro-
lyte from skin or clothing
If the battery leaks and its electrolyte comes into
contact with skin or clothes, wash the contact
area with clean water. If battery electrolyte gets
into the eye, flush immediately with clean water
and consult a doctor immediately.

Do not disassemble or modified since malfunction
may result.

such as glass made components, are vulnerable

If directly attached to flexible PVC or rubber, colors may

Battery
• Do not insert the plus (+) and minus (–) ends of the battery in reverse.
• Do not install a combination of used and new batteries. Do not mix different types of batteries.
• Use the batteries specified by the manufacturer.
• Remove all worn out batteries as soon as possible.
• Remove the batteries from the clock if the clock will not be used for a long time.
• When changing the batteries, please replace with all new batteries.
• When changing the batteries, please clean the both ends of the batteries and the terminals of the
clock.
• If dirty, use a soft cloth to wipe the clock with neutral detergent or soapy water. Then wipe with
a dry cloth.
• Avoid using benzene, thinner, alcohol or aerosol cleaners to clean the case.

What is the Radio Wave Clock?
The Radio Wave Clock is a clock which can automatically correct the time and calendar infor-
mation by receiving accurate timing information via radio waves.
The Standard Frequency and Time Signal Radio Waves
This clock canreceive automatically the Japan Standard Time signals from both Fukushima
and Kyushu station.
Receiving Areas of the Radio Waves
Under good conditions, it is considered to receive radio waves at a position of about 1,200 km
apart from thetransmitting station.
※Even if within the receiving areas, radio wave transmission may be prevented by various unfa-
vorable con-ditions (sun activities, seasons, weather, or topographical features and building
structures).
Radio waves may fail to receive in the places or at the times shown below.
●In the basement of buildings
●Near high-voltage cables, TV towers or train bridges
●Near metal shutters or window blinds
●Near electric appliances or OA equipment, or near/on the furnitures used steel structure
●
In the places where radio waves are obstructed; construction sites, airports or busy traffic sites, etc .
●In the morning and evening, or on a rainy day

Flashing and illuminating of the lamp shows status or
result of receiving radio waves.
Verify the status of radio waves.
Reception is successful:
receiving indication lamp illuminates (5 sec.)
Reception failure:
receiving indication lamp flashes (5 sec.)
When radio waves can not be received, time can be
adjusted by manual operation.
If this button is pressed carelessly, time will change.
Press the compulsory receiving button
when the location is changed, the display is
incorrect, or when replacing the batteries.
This button is used to verify the
result of light sensor.

1.Minimize the volume
If the volume is not turned down, loud sounds may suddenly be output.
1.Turn on the RADIO WAVE RECEPTION switch
2.Remove the cover on the rear of the clock
3.Insert batteries into the battery holders
4.Press the COMPULSORY RECEIVING button
RECEIVING INDICATION lamp will turned on.
※During reception, the hands will stop moving, but this is not a malfunction.
5.Attach the pendulum

After the RECEIVING INDICATION lamp turns off, wait until the hands start moving.

While waiting (or during reception), do not operate any buttons.

If reception was successful:
The INDICATION lamp will illuminate for 5 seconds. This completes the operation.
If reception failed:
The RECEIVING INDICATION lamp will flash for 5 seconds. For details to p.17.
Basic Operation

MELODY switch
Turn the MELODY switch ON in order to sound a melody every hour on the hour. Melodies
change every hour. (The titles of all the melodies are displayed on the back of the clock.)

Even if the MELODY switch is turned ON, a melody does not sound in a darker room.
MONITOR button
Pressing the MONITOR button will cause the
melody to sound, regardless of the time.
While the melody is sounding, turn the monitor
button to adjust the volume.
Press the MONITOR button while a melody is
sounding to change the melody order.
Adjust the volume
While a melody is sounding, turn the VOLUME
knob to adjust the volume.

Light sensor
When the surrounding area is dark, the sensor operates and
1. hourly melody stops.
2. second hand stops at zero second.
During daytime or under dim lighting, if the light intensity is not strong enough, the sensor
may also react as above.
SLEEP MONITOR button
This button is used to verify the result of “Light sensor.” When second hand advances near
12o’ clock position, press this button continuously. Then, second hand stops at 12 o’ clock
position. When the button is released, the second hand starts to run around quickly to the
correct time.
Hourly Melody Function
Batteries Changing Alert
When batteries need to be changed, the second hand stops at the top. Minute and Hour
hands will still display the correct time for about a month after the second hand stops,
but in order to avoid malfunction and stain to wall and furniture caused by the battery
liquid, changing the batteries at an early stage is recommended.
It is recommended to change the battery once a year regardless of the battery power.

When Radio Waves Cannot Be Received
●Leave the clock until the morning
Radio wave transmission conditions are better during the nighttime. Therefore, it is
highly likely that radio wave reception will be possible if the clock is left overnight.
●Change the position of the clock
Locate the clock near a window in order to receive radio waves more easily, or
change the location of the clock so that the front or back side of the clock is oriented
towards a transmitting station (Refer to the location of the transmitting station on the
map in this manual). Then, press the RECEPTION button and try reception.
When the clock fails to receive the standard radio signal or time adjustment is required
due to personal need, time can be set manually.
If the hands are rotating rapidly, please do it after the rotation has stopped.
Press the TIME SET button to adjust time
○Minute hand advances 1 min when press and then release.
○Hands rotate fast when press and hold.
About second hands rotation
When pressing the TIME SET button, the second hand stops rotating but minute hand
rotates clockwise. After the time is set, the movement would automatically restore to
zero second and the time start running. Just when the time of the movement matches
with the position of the second hand, the second hand moves again.
Time accuracy
In the place where standard time signal cannot be received, it could be worked as
normal quartz clock.
Manually Adjust Time

The Radio Wave Reception Switch
When the radio wave reception switch is turned off, the clock will display the time in the
quartz time keeping system. Turn this switch OFF , if in condition that the clock cannot
catch or incorrectly catch the radio wave, or if in need to intentionally alternate the time
display.
When the switch is turned OFF, and new batteries are loaded, or if the reset button is
pushed,The radio wave reception button may flash, just like when the switch is ON, but
it only displays the quartz time, not receiving the radio wave.

Hanging The Clock

1. Please hang the clock vertically against the wall. The clock may fall from the hook if it is tilted.
2. After hanging the clock on the wall, slightly move the clock in different directions to ensure
that it is secured firmly.
3. Choose a hook of a suitable size to match the wall mount of the clock.
4. Hang the clock on a wall not affected by vibrations, such as opening or closing doors.
5. When hanging on a cement, concrete, or brick wall, use the hook suitable to the material and
structure of the wall.Always take the weight of the clock in consideration when purchasing the
hook/screw that will be used to hang the clock.
6. Do not use double-side tape or sticker to put the clock on the wall. The clock may fall down
easily in this case.

After Sales Service And Support
The store where you purchased the clock will provide after sales service and support for the
clock. Please read the clock warranty and the following items carefully.
●Availability of repair parts
We will continue to carry functional repair parts (electronic circuits, gear, etc.) for this clock
for a period of seven years in the case of wall and table clocks, and three years in the case of
alarm clocks, after production of discontinued. For the repair of exterior parts (case, dial, etc.),
similar parts may be substituted.
●Repair period
After the free warranty period, the clock can be repaired for a fee during the period while
repair parts are still available. For repairs, shipping charges to and from the repair shop and
other expenses will be charged to the customer. In some cases, the repair charge may be
costly. So, please consult the store.
