
7. Best Use
Kneel or sit on the board. Lie prone on one board/connected boards.
Allow the user to push themselves by reaching the floor.
A therapist or carer can manoeuvre the board to steer towards an activity or to
provide vestibular input.
This product could be used on an appropriate scooter slope.
Use with “paddles” or “oars” to move the scooter board around the room and use
different muscles and motor co-ordination.
Please note: These instructions are intended to encourage safe, easy and
comfortable use of these products by a suitable experienced and qualified person.
Provided that safety is always paramount, these instructions for use may be modified
according to client need.

There are a variety of items that could enhance the sensory experience depending on the
clients’ needs. For example, why not combine with other types of sensory input –e.g.
create games to “collect” balls from around a room which will encourage the individual to
utilise a variety of different skills (e.g. object recognition, hand/eye co-
ordination/problem solving etc. Enhance visual input by using light up balls, textured
ones, ones that have audible input or perhaps have olfactory value see www.rompa.com.
9. Starting Up
Take product out of box.
Check item has not been damaged in transit in any way before use (call ROMPA if
there are any problems)
Decide how the item is to be used (see best use section), individually, in pairs or in
multiples connected firmly together.

hands away from the wheels.
