Scion is an unconventional automotive brand that makes it easy
for social motivators to own a car that reflects who they are and
where they’re going.
All Scions have only one standard trim level (mono spec) and
are designed to be uniquely customized by the owner. As a
well-equipped mono spec model, iA has features like a standard
Low-speed Pre-Collision System,3rear view backup camera2and
a 7-inch touchscreen Display Audio System. Besides color, the
only other decisions buyers must make is whether they want
the optional automatic transmission or optional Display Audio
with Navigation SD card.

COMFORT AND CONVENIENCE FEATURES
BATTERY SAVER
If the interior (dome) light switch is left in the On position, the light automatically turns off when locking
the doors. It will remain on for 30 minutes if the driver closes the doors but does not lock them. After
30 minutes, the light shuts off automatically to help preserve the battery. It turns on when the doors
are unlocked.

AHA
Aha is an application that uses the cloud to deliver Web content to your phone.
When connected to the car, Aha allows you to listen to your favorite Web
content as personalized, on-demand stations. Aha has more than 100,000
stations, including music, news, podcasts, talk radio and social media (social
media is read aloud; drivers cannot post to Facebook and Twitter from the
car). Additionally, location-based services help you find local restaurants,
coffee and hotels (if they have been rated by Yelp®or Tripadvisor®).5
Stream the latest in news, sports, talk and entertainment radio anywhere,
on demand. Discover the best of over 25,000+ radio shows, live radio
stations and podcasts. Stitch together your favorite shows into customized
station playlists and save them for easy access. Create a news playlist for
your morning commute and a comedy playlist for the weekends.5
Pandora is a music streaming and automated music recommendation
service. Launch a personalized station instantly by specifying a favorite
artist or song. Pandora selects future songs based on the user’s positive
or negative feedback for songs chosen by the service.5
To use connected services, download the Aha, Stitcher, and Pandora apps
from GoogleTM Play or iTunes®store. The apps are free to download, but
data charges may apply depending on the data plan.
With optional navigation,11 the destination can be set using a location on
the map. The system can also search the distance to nearby locations,
including gas stations. And Aha’s location-based services can connect
directly to the Navigation System.

CHASSIS
The high torsional rigidity of iA’s chassis
contributes to handling performance and
precise steering. And with a high-strength body
structure, agility is engineered in, not just
added on using stiffer springs and shocks. The
high-strength structure is also a foundation
for safety.
STEERING
iA has a sport-tuned Electric Power Steering
(EPS) system that delivers precise steering, a
quick steering ratio, and less boost for more
road feel. The steering rack is solid-mounted
to the vehicle subframe, which increases
rigidity and linearity. Steering tuning is more in
line with a sport sedan than an economy car.
SUSPENSION
The MacPherson strut front suspension and
torsion beam rear suspension are tuned for a
balance of sporty handling and ride comfort
not normally associated with this segment.
BRAKES
iA provides progressive braking feel when
cornering. Entering the curve, the pedal
provides smooth operation then progresses
to a more rigid feel as G-force rises.

standing start. Torque converter
lock-up can happen as low as
5 mph in first gear for improved
fuel economy, quicker acceleration
and more direct shifts. In fact,
acceleration feels equivalent to
a 1.8L engine and six-speed
manual transmission.
Sport mode delivers an even more
engaging experience by adjusting
throttle response and increasing
shift points for quicker initial
acceleration.

SAFETY
STANDARD LOW-SPEED PRE-COLLISION
SAFETY SYSTEM3
At speeds between 2 and 18 mph, a laser sensor
located near the rearview mirror detects a
vehicle or object ahead. The system provides
audible and visual warnings and pre-pressurizes
the brakes to apply full braking force in response
to the driver’s braking input. If the driver does
not perform any collision avoidance maneuver,
the system automatically applies the brakes and
slows the vehicle. This system is designed to
help reduce crash speed and damage in certain
frontal collisions only.
DYNAMIC STABILITY CONTROL (DSC)9
When skidding is detected, DSC controls engine
output and the braking force applied to each
wheel to help the vehicle maintain stability even
when cornering on slippery roads or steering
suddenly to avoid hazards. For example, during
front wheel slip, the system reduces engine output
and brakes the inside wheels. During rear wheel
slip, the system brakes the outside wheels.
COMING HOME LIGHT SYSTEM
When exiting the vehicle, with the ignition
off, pulling the lighting control lever turns
the low beam headlights on. The headlights
automatically turn off 30 seconds after the
doors are closed. This feature enhances
safety by lighting the way when exiting the
vehicle at night.
The driver can turn the feature off or personalize
how long the headlights stay on through the
audio system’s Settings screen.
LEAVING HOME LIGHT SYSTEM
When pressing the transmitter Unlock button
(with the ignition switch off and the headlight
switch set to Headlights or Exterior
Lights/Dashboard Illumination), the low beam
headlights, parking lights, taillights and license
lights illuminate for 30 seconds. This feature
enhances safety by lighting the way to the
vehicle. The lights automatically turn off after
30 seconds, when no doors were opened, or
when the doors are locked.
The driver can turn the system off using the
audio system’s Settings screen.

6 All the airbag (AB) systems are Supplemental Restraint Systems. All ABs (if installed) are designed
to inflate only under certain conditions and in certain types of severe collisions: frontal and knee ABs
typically inflate in frontal collisions; side and side curtain ABs in side collisions; Roll-Sensing
Curtain ABs at a severe tilt degree, roll or lateral G-force. In all other accidents, the ABs will not
inflate. To decrease the risk of injury from an inflating AB, always wear seatbelts, sit upright in the
middle of the seat as far back as possible and do not lean against the door. Do not put objects in front
of an AB or around the seatback. Do not use a rearward-facing child seat in any front passenger
seat. The force of an inflating AB may cause serious injury or death. See your Owner’s Manual for
further information/warnings.
7 The Tire Pressure Monitor System alerts the driver when tire pressure is critically low. For optimal
tire wear and performance, tire pressure should be checked regularly with a gauge; do not rely solely
on the monitor system. See your Owner’s Manual for details.
8 Dynamic Stability Control is an electronic system designed to help the driver maintain vehicle control
under adverse conditions. It is not a substitute for safe driving practices. Factors including speed,
road conditions and driver steering input can all affect whether DSC will be effective in preventing a
loss of control. Please see your Owner’s Manual for further details.
9 Be sure to obey traffic regulations and maintain awareness of road and traffic conditions at all times.
Always use safe driving practices and follow all traffic rules. Concentrating on the road should always
