Introduction
If you require your Connect Device to be connected to a non-broadcasted WiFi network
then you must use the Dell WiFi setup application that is pre-installed on the device.
Please note that all, formerly connected, WiFi entries (SSID) must be deleted from the
device before you will be able to access the Dell WiFi setup application.
Deleting WiFi Entries
Step 1
Connect a USB keyboard to the Connect device. The mini USB port connects to the device
and the USB keyboard connects to the USB receiver as shown.
Step 2
To access the ScreenScape, Smart Player menu press the Spacebar key on your keyboard.

Once you are on the home screen of the Smart Player menu, highlight the Wifi icon using
the left and right arrow keys on your keyboard and then press the Enter key.
Step 4
You will then be brought to a screen which will indicate which WiFi network the device is
currently connected to. To bypass this screen and to access the WiFi settings, use your
right and left arrow keys to highlight the WiFi icon with the plus symbol (+). Press the
Enter key.
Step 5
Your Connect device will now populate a list of WiFi networks that are in the devices vici-
ity. Use the up and down arrow keys to scroll through the list of networks until your net-
work is highlighted. Once the network is selected that you wish to delete, press the Tab
key on your keyboard twice. This will allow you to access the WiFi/Trash icon that is locat-
ed just below the WiFi Password field. Using your arrow keys, highlight the WiFi/Trash
icon and then press the Enter key.
Step 6 (Optional)
Repeat this process for all WiFi networks you have formerly connected to with the Screen-
Scape Connect device.

Connecting to Hidden WiFi
Step 1
To connect your device to a non-broadcasted (hidden) WiFi network you will need to
access a seperate WiFi setup menu. To access this setup menu you will need to press the
Bluetooth pairing button located on the side of the Connect Device. Once pressed, it
should take you directly to the Dell setup application. If this doesn’t occur, reboot the
device, wait for it to finish the initialization process, and then try pressing the Bluetooth
pairing button again.
Step 2
The Dell setup application will first ask if you if you would like to connect a Bluetooth
keyboard. You can skip this page by pressing the Enter key on your keyboard while high-
lighting the Skip button.

The Dell setup application will then ask if you if you would like to connect a Bluetooth
mouse. You can skip this page by pressing the Tab key, followed by the Enter key, while
highlighting the Skip button.
Step 4
If there are no SSIDs saved on the device a third page will appear dedicated to WiFi setup.
Using a mouse, click on the Plus Symbol Icon (+) on the right hand side of the populated
list of networks.
IMPORTANT To complete this step, you will be required to attach a mouse to the Connect
Device. If you are already using a wireless keyboard/mouse combo then your mouse will
already be available for use. If you are using a wired keyboard then you will temporarily
have to attach a wired mouse to complete this step.

Step 5
Enter your chosen Network SSID that you would like to connect to. Make sure that you
type this SSID exactly how it is written. Then, click on the Security drop-down menu and
select the appropriate security type. Just below these fields a password field should
appear. Enter your WiFi network password.
Step 6
Use your Ta b key to select the Connect button on the far right hand side of the setup
screen and then press the Enter key to connect to your Wifi Network. Once you have
successfully connected to the network you will be prompted to update your timezone.
This step can be ignored as the device timezone is determined by the address you have on
your ScreenScape account. Hightlight the Exit button and press the Enter key. This will
reboot your device. If you have successfully connected to the WiFi network then you will
see a green WiFi symbol in the upper right hand corner during the device boot sequence.
