General Safety Instructions for All Semak Products
Do not use the appliance for other than its intended use.
Never leave the appliance unattended when in use.
The appliance should not be used by children or infirm persons and close
supervision is necessary when used near such persons.
Always switch off at power outlet before removing the plug.
Remove by holding the plug –do not pull the cord.
When the appliance is not in use, or prior to cleaning, always switch off the
power and remove the plug.
To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not immerse the plug, cord or any part of
the appliance in water or any other liquid.
Do not use near a stove or heat source and do not let the cord come in contact
with any hot surface.
Do not use the appliance with an extension cord unless that cord has been
checked and tested by a qualified technician or if it is an extension cord that has
been manufactured by a reliable electrical goods manufacturer and has not
been altered in any way.
Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the
appliance malfunctions or has been dropped or damaged in anyway. Return to
Semak or an authorised service agent for repair.

Safety Instructions
1. Ensure that the power supply is also switched off before connecting to the
electric outlet. Use only on AC 220-240V 50 Hz only.
2. To avoid risk of electric shock, do not immerse cord, plug or motor end of the
appliance in water or any other liquid.
3. Do not hang from the unit or place any objects on top of the unit.
4. Drain Tank and Air Filter must be installed at all times during use.
5. Always switch off at the power outlet before removing the plug. Remove by
holding the plug - do not pull on the cord. When the appliance is not in use, or
prior to cleaning, always switch off the power and remove the plug.
6. The Hand Dryer should not be used by children or infirm persons and care should
be taken when used near these persons. The Hand Dryer should not be used
outdoors. Young children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play
with the appliance.
7. Avoid physical contact with moving parts.
8. Do not put hands into the Hand Dryer –Sever burns and injury may result.
9. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance
malfunctions, is dropped or damaged in any way. Return the appliance to
SEMAK. (Manufacturer) or its Authorised Service Agent for repair. Do not
attempt to repair the machine.
10. For Safety reasons and to avoid maintenance by unskilled persons, the
appliance should always be returned to SEMAK. (Manufacturer) for adjustment
or repair if required.
WARNING
This appliance should be used according to the instructions.
MISUSE of this appliance may cause HAZARD, Serious
Personal Injury, or may void the Warranty.

Installation Instructions for the Semak Hand Dryer
Before installation consider the following points:
1. Do not install in places of excessive condensation, humidity or water build up.
2. Direct installation to mains power must be carried out by a registered electrician.
3. Hand Dryer must be installed and used indoors only.
4. Use only 220-240V / 50Hz AC power source.
Installation Location:
1. Unit must be installed above 150mm height from the floor to prevent water from
entering the unit during cleaning.
2. The left side of the unit must be at least 150mm from the wall (due to the power
switch being located on the left hand side of the unit).
3. Ensure no mirrors or walls are closer than 100mm to the right of the unit and no
fixtures closer than 400mm as water may splatter when drying hands.
4. Avoid locations where people or doors might bump into the unit.
5. Ensure the wall surface is completely flat and level before mounting.
6. Ensure the unit is mounted well away from any heat sources, corrosive or
flammable gases to avoid product failure or fire.
7. Suggested Installation Height: 950mm –1100mm from the floor to top of unit
8. Electrical Installation Options: Use the supplied Australian lead and plug or use a
registered electrician to wire connection direct to mains power.
Installation Instructions:
1. Remove the product from its packaging (do not discard).
2. Locate the water collection / drip tray and remove from unit.
3. Locate the air filter compartment and
remove filter from unit.
4. Fix the mounting plate onto the wall using
the supplied expanding screws & plugs.
5. Hang the hand dryer onto the metal
mounting plate ensuring that both upper
and lower hooks are firmly in place.
6. Replace security screw, air filter & water
collection/drip tray to finish installation.

Operating Instructions for the Semak Hand Dryer
Before First Use:
1. Open the Switch Settings Box (top left hand side of unit) with the supplied allen
key to set the correct switch settings.
2. The Heating Switch should be set to “On”.
3. The Heating Air Speed should be set to “H” for fastest drying time.
4. The Power Switch should be set to “On”.
5. Close the Switch Settings Box with the supplied allen key and retain for future
use. The Hand Dryer is now ready for use.
The Semak Hand Dryer is electronically operated for Health and Hygiene purposes:
1. Before connecting to electrical outlet, visually inspect the cord and plug for faults.
2. Plug the unit in to power supply, switch power on (as above) and wait 10 seconds.
3. Place hands in drying compartment to automatically start drying.
Withdraw hands once dry and the unit will automatically stop.
4. For faster drying, shake excess water from hands before using unit.
Rub hands together during the drying for quickest drying.

Cleaning Instructions for the Semak Hand Dryer
1. Always unplug the Hand Dryer from the power source before cleaning.
2. Clean with a damp soft cloth and sanitizer spray if required.
3. Avoid getting water or spray inside the dryer.
Weekly Cleaning
Draining and Cleaning the Drain Tank
Cleaning the Air Filter
Before it fills up (at least weekly)
Around once a week (depending on use)
1. Pull the drain tank outwards
horizontally level.
2. Open the drain tank cover and empty
water.
3. Wash out interior of the drain tank
and then replace cover. Reinsert the
drain tank securely into the hand dryer.
4. Pour one cup of
water through the
drain hole to
prevent it getting
clogged.
1. Remove the air filter using its handle.
2. Clean the air filter by lightly tapping it
into a bin or preferably using a vacuum
cleaner to remove filtered material.
3. Reinsert the cleaned dry air filter into
the unit. Ensure the filter is pushed
entirely into the unit until it stops.
Note: ensure air filter is completely dry
before reinserting into unit.

Connection Description
1. Secure the base plate on the wall provided.
2. The conduit in place by suitable ½ inch trade conduit fitting.
3. Connections:
a) Connect the live wire coloured Red (or Brown) to the terminal block where
marked “L”.
b) Connect the neutral wire coloured Black (or Blue) to the terminal block
where marked “N”.
c) Connect the neutral wire coloured Green and Yellow (or Green, Note: Bare
earth wires should be sleeved with Green and Yellow or Yellow or Green
sleeving) to the terminal block where marked with the earth symbol.

Service & Maintenance
The Semak EcoDry Hand Dryer does not contain user-serviceable parts. For Service
and Repair, contact Semak for your nearest Authorised Service Agent.
The Foodservice Industry is deemed a hostile environment within the scope of
AS/NZS 3760:2003. The Semak EcoDry Hand Dryer MUST be routinely electrically
tested for compliance with this standard if used commercially.
It is recommended that a Food Safety program such as HACCP be employed and that
routine service and repair be undertaken at the time of electrical testing to ensure
the correct operation and function of all parts.
Electrical Compliance
Semak EcoDry Hand Dryer comply with the following electrical standards

Warranty
The Semak Hand Dryer is a Commercial appliance. This product is guaranteed for 1
Year* from the date of purchase against mechanical and electrical defects. If the fault
is deemed caused by MISUSE/ABUSE the terms of the warranty are invalidated. If the
product has been opened or tampered with (i.e. in an attempt to repair it) the
warranty is invalidated.
All warranty repairs should be undertaken by Semak Australia or one of its
Authorised Repair Agents.
It is against company policy to authorize warranty repairs over the phone. Service
Agents will require a work order number from Semak to conduct warranty repairs.

SEMAKWARRANTY
THIS WARRANTY APPLIES ONLY TO PRODUCTS MANUFACTURED AND SOLD IN AUSTRALIA
The benefits conferred by this warranty are an alternative to all other rights and remedies
in respect of the product which the consumer has under the Trade Practices Act and similar
State and Territory Laws.
Semak Australia. Warrant each new SEMAK appliance manufactured by SEMAK to be free
from defects in materials or manufacturing process for a period of 1 Year from the date of
original purchase.
Should defects due to faulty materials or manufacturing process develop within the
warranty period, the appliance will be repaired without charge providing all conditions of
this warranty are observed.
1. Proof of Purchase and Warranty card must be retained and available on request.
2. This Warranty is void if the equipment has been damaged due to misuses neglect or is
used for a purpose for which it was not suited; and no repairs, alterations or
modifications have been attempted by other than Semak or its authorised Service
Agent.
3. Semak Australia. Reserves the right to reject a claim for warranty if service is required
due to misapplication, improper installation, inadequate wiring, and incorrect voltage
conditions. Under no circumstances shall SEMAK or its agents bear responsibility for
consequential damages of any kind.
4. Where required by Statute or local authority, equipment must be installed by qualified
person in accordance with all relevant regulations. Failure to do this will void product
warranty.
5. Cost of transport of any appliance or part to and from SEMAK or its Service Agent is to
be paid by the owner.
6. A charge will be made where failure is due to neglect, abuse or accidental damage on
the part of the operator, or when no fault can be found or the fault is due to causes
outside the control of Semak Australia.
7. The above does not preclude the purchaser from their Statutory rights as a consumer.
