6.2.7 Bevel gearboxes in lifting systems
The installation of many bevel gearboxes for SYNCHRONIZED lifting movement requires particular attention
on:
correct alignment of lifting points;
direction of rotation of the shafts;
disposal of screw jacks and direction of rotation, lead angle of acme or ball screw;
kinematic schemes of gears inside bevel gearboxes;
use of connecting shafts and couplings with high torsional stiffness, to assure a perfect synchronism
of all lifting points;
verify the transmitted torque and rotation speed of shafts and couplings;
In case of big distance between lifting points, it is necessary to support transmission shafts in one or
more points.
6.2.8 Oil-lubricated bevel gearboxes
The gearbox housing is equipped with oil plugs: breather/refill plug (A), drain plug (B) and level
indicator plug (C).
Only for BG86 gearbox: the gearbox housing is equipped only with breather plug (A).
To avoid leakage during transport, the BREATHER of the housing is replaced by a plug. The breather
is supplied unmounted, with the bevel gearbox. AFTER INSTALLATION, PLEASE MOUNT THE
BREATHER IN THE PROPER HOLE POSITION, AS SHOWN IN FIG. 6.1.
THE BREATHER HOLE POSITION IS INDICATED BY A MARKER.
