Setting Up Camera With Secure Watch Mobile App
1. Search for the "Secure Watch Mobile" App in the Apple App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store
(Android). Download and install the app to your smartphone.
2. Before you begin, make sure that the camera is in a new condition. If the unit had been previously
registered with SMC Secure Watch service, you will need to perform a ‘remove camera’ operation
in the smartphone app’s camera setting page. For details, refer to the App user manual
(http://na.smc.com/downloads).
3. You must connect your smartphone to a 2.4 GHz WiFi network as this camera model only supports
2.4. GHz WiFi.
4. Power on the camera with its power adapter. Wait two minutes for the camera to become ready.
When the camera is ready, the LED flashes green slowly, indicating the camera is waiting for a WiFi
connection to be established. If the LED does not flash green slowly, reset the camera by pressing
the reset button on the back of the unit for more than eight (8) seconds until the LED color is solid
red and then wait until the LED flashes green slowly. This may take about 30 seconds.
5. Connect your smartphone to your WiFi network. During this installation stage, make sure that your
smartphone is connected to the WiFi network with the same network name (SSID) that you wish to
use for connecting the camera. For later normal use, you can use any WiFi network freely from your
smartphone. (Note: we will now use the Apple iOS App version for the remainder of this guide.)
6. Open the Secure Watch Mobile App on your smartphone. If you do not have an account, tap <Create
Account> to create a new account. After creating a user account, you must confirm it from your
associated email account. Enter the user account ID (the email address) and the password you
provided and tap <Sign In> to login.

4
7. Upon a successful sign-in, the following <Add your first camera now> screen will be displayed if
there are no camera(s) added with this account.
To add a new camera, tap <Add your first camera now>.
8. The following screen will be displayed.

5
! Wait until the camera LED blinks green slowly. When you hear a voice instruction saying ‘Ready
To Scan QR Code’ Tap <Next>. The following page will be displayed.
! Verify whether the WiFi network name (SSID) is the same as that of the 2.4 GHz WiFi network
that your smartphone is connected to.
! Enter the WiFi password and then tap <Next>. A QR code will be displayed as follows:

6
! Direct the camera’s lens to point at your smartphone’s display from about a 4-inch distance so
that the camera can recognize the QR code. Make sure that the display is bright enough for the
QR code to be recognized. As QR code scan is completed, the following pages will be shown
sequentially.
! It will take approximately two minutes to complete the process after the QR code recognition is
completed. Depending on the network condition, this process may timeout in which case the
following timeout message will be displayed. In such a case, tap ‘Restart’ to retry.

7
! When the connecting process is completed successfully, the following page will be shown. Enter
the camera name and choose a time zone. Tap <Complete Registration>.
! The following page will be displayed:

8
! If the process is completed, the following <Views> page will be displayed, in which the new
camera is shown.
9. To view live video from a camera, tap a camera’s image thumbnail and its live video will appear.

9
10. If your account has already added one or more cameras, then the following <Views> page will be
displayed with a list of cameras that this account can access.
To add an o the r ca me ra , tap <··· More> icon at the bottom of the Views page, tap <Camera
Management> menu, and then tap <+> icon on the upper right corner. Repeat the process from Step
8.

10
11. To fu r th e r adjust the camera, please refer to the camera management section under the <···More>
tab located at the bottom of the app.
12. You are now ready to use your Secure Watch Mobile app with your new security camera. To learn
more about all of the Secure Watch Mobile app features, read the app User’s Manual
(http://na.smc.com/downloads/).
Good Security Practices:
HD IP-Cameras require good security practices to safeguard your privacy. You can help
protect your cameras application by choosing a strong password.
After your camera appears in the Camera list, make sure your camera has the latest firmware
installed. Please select the <
···
More> tab, and then tap “Camera Management.” If the
“Upgrade” button of this camera is in blue text, tap the button to begin the firmware upgrade
process. The upgrade firmware process will take approximately two minutes to complete.
