Tips
Creation of the SOKOLOV watch is a complicated technological process. To
create the cases we use innovation technologies and the most up-to-date
equipment.
Our watch is certied according to Russian State production standard (ГОСТ)
26272-98 on the quality parameters, applied to watches, the principal of which
are accuracy of the daily variation, work of the calendar mechanism, hand
misalignment, case waterproof, quality of the protection-decorative layer.
For SOKOLOV jewelry watch production we create a case, made entirely of

4 5
precious metals: gold or silver.
SOKOLOV company also manufactures cases for decorative watches using
its own patented technology (patent of invention No. 2636563):
- involving the use of gold and / or silver separate parts of adequate neness;
- according to the technology of the framework body, the case construction
consists of 2 parts: the precious part made of gold / silver of adequate
neness and the reinforcing part of nickel silver 15-20 (Neusilber). This alloy is
commonly used for manufacturing parts of precision instruments, treatment
tools and jewelry. With careful and delicate handling, SOKOLOV jewelry
watch will work well during the entire service life.
We recommend you to clean your watch with the soft cloth provided in your
package, or a special jewelry cloth.
Scratches may occur on the case when using other materials or cloths.
The watchstrap is made of genuine leather. To make it last longer, protect it
from water or high moisture. In case of contact with water we recommend
you wipe it with a cloth and let it dry naturally in a well aired room. We also
recommend you avoid strap contact with cosmetics and oil/fat containing
substances.
SOKOLOV gold watches are made with sapphire glass. Silver – with mineral
glass with sapphire coating.
The setting crowns, buttons and clasps are made of high-quality steel and
have decorative coating.
If you plan not to wear the watch for a few weeks, we recommend you to move
the setting crown in the end position – the position for moving the hands,
when the watch is stopped. This will allow minimizing power consumption.
Battery economy in this position may be up to 70 per cent.
Do not expose your watch to physical impact. We do not recommend doing
sports or involving into any other activity correlated with substantial dynamic
or shock impact.
Setting crown and buttons are elements of mechanism control. Applying too
much force may cause breakage.
Our watches are made with sapphire glass and mineral glass with sapphire

coating. Sapphire is a very scratchproof material, however, we want to note
that despite exceptional durability and rmness, it may still crack or break if
hit too hard. The glass should be immediately replaced in such case, because
even the smallest crack may cause dust getting into the movement, which
will lead to breakage.
The watch cases are moist proof, they protect the movements from rain or
high humidity. However, these watches are not meant for wearing in saunas,
steam rooms, swimming pools. Do not wear your watch when swimming. Even
short term dip in the water may cause damage. In case water gets inside the
watch, you need to take it to the nearest SOKOLOV customer service center
(see Section «Warranty Liability»).
While using or storing your watch, avoid contact with strong chemicals. They
may cause deterioration of the watch exterior, as well as damage the sealing
capacity due to destroying the sealing rings.
Protect your watch from continuous sun exposure, rapid temperature
changes, as well as from sources of powerful electromagnetic elds.
Battery
The battery is installed at the factory of origin. If the watch gets slow, the
date does not change or the second hand does not move evenly (jumps over
one or several marks), this may be a sign the battery needs to be changed.
At rst signs of low battery, we recommend you to bring your watch to the
nearest SOKOLOV customer service, where you will be oered qualied
support.
Battery change including the battery itself and the work is provided for
free at the expense of the manufacturing factory during 2 years as from the
purchase.
Watch maintenance
The battery service life and the watch precision may be dierent from the
ones announced by the manufacturer due to incorrect maintenance or
impact from the following negative factors:
• high and low temperatures;
• severe vibration or shock;
• strong electromagnetic elds.
